Our stay was wonderful. This historic home is a walkable distance from historic downtown Greendale. We were easily able to walk to the shops and enjoyed the walking paths. Our communication with Jennifer was easy. She provided wonderful instructions for the property. Should we ever be back in the area, we would book another stay here.

Lovely House in Greendale
This home and community was a lovely place to recooperate from surgery. It was close to the hospital but far enough away to feel like your out of the city. We would love to stay again next time we're in Milwaukee.

Thank you Shelly! Glad you enjoyed your stay. It was wonderful having you. Hoping for a speedy recovery!
My friend and I stayed here for 2 nights for a girls trip for a concert in town. The townhouse was clean, well stocked, and had everything we needed. The futon was actually pretty comfortable as well! Communication with owner was excellent , and the location was in a cute town within walking distance to shops, restaurants, and a wine place :) we enjoyed our stay thoroughly!

Cute and charming!
This apartment was just perfect for our weekend in the Milwaukee area. It's located in the historic Village of Greendale. We were within walking distance of the small downtown district offering lovely shops, coffee house, bakery, wine bar, resale shop, and a wine bar. The apartment is well equipped so you could cook there if you wanted to. There's a nice outdoor seating area. The neighborhood was quiet and safe. We would stay again!
Came in for a short stay for a wedding. The area was beautiful- close to food and a mall. Easy access but the house is on a very narrow street so you have to really pay attention because it’s tough to turn around. Only issue was the bedroom tv did not work - which was fine. And the router/modem in the bedroom was very bright so it has to be covered with a towel. Would recommend.

Thank you Jill. I was not aware that the bedroom tv did not work. Is it possible you unplugged it when you unplugged the router and modem? I just left the property a few days before you arrived after living there for over 3 months and the tv was working perfectly. I wish you had told me that because I could have remedied that during your stay. My home is historic in the original section of Greendale, built in 1938 and that is just how the streets were constructed back then. Obviously, that is something out of my control. Because of the block wall construction, that is the only wall where there is a cable outlet. I live on the property for several months of the year and have not had a problem with the light by covering the modem and router with a towel to keep the room dark. Thank you for your feedback and being such a great guest!
Very clean but small bathroom. Needs a grab bar in the shower and a higher toilet, bed was comfortable and furniture in living room was not comfortable. Needs a couple recliners as the chair was low and hard to get out of. We are older and would have been more comfortable with better chairs. Over would give it a B+
We would stay here again.
The no visitor policy was strange as we were visiting family and they came over to pick us up and came inside several times. We understand no overnigjt guests bit??

Thank you Ronald for your review. I am so sorry that my home did not have the special accommodations that you needed as a senior. My listing is very honest. The photos are true. The listing states it is just over 600 square feet which is small so it would be safe to assume that the bathroom would be small. I always check in with my guests prior to booking to make sure that all of their questions are answered and you did not ask me anything about the size of the bathroom, if there was a grab bar and the height of the furniture or toilet. I would gladly have described that to you prior to booking. Also, there are many pictures of the property and you can see the height of the toilet and that there is no grab bar in the shower. I do not have recliners because I advertise the futon as extra sleeping space. With vacation rentals, owners have a right to set their policies for what is best for their properties and the neighborhood. The "no visitor" policy is clearly stated on the listing and it is to be respectful of my neighbors. For the future, I'm sure owners would prefer that you ask these questions prior to booking. Safe travels!

Property location was nice. LR furniture is outdated & uncomfortable for seniors. Food was left in the refrigerator & freezer from previous occupants. TV reception was poor. We've rented a fair number of VRBO properties but have not had to strip the bed prior to leaving. Last minute email that we didn't receive until we returned home that asked us to notify owner when we left the property. Owner had been asked to text since we don't have email access when we are travelling.

Comfortable overstuffed chair with ottoman (may be too low for seniors). Futon couch offers extra sleep space and suitable height for all ages. Condiments, coffee and non-perishable items are left in the fridge for guest use. All perishable food items are removed prior to each new guest's stay. Owner lives on the property part of the year so non-perishable
food items are provided for guest use (flour, sugar, tea, etc). As clearly stated in the listing, antenna tv is provided and there is not cable. There is a smart tv in the bedroom and a fire stick in the living area which provides all guests to use streaming services of their choice. House rules and check out requirements are stated in listing for potential guests to review. Communication regarding check in and check out information is automatically sent through the website messaging system to all guests for proper tracking. I am happy to text in addition to this if guests prefer.
I love the property it is well maintained and was a perfect location for visiting my sick mom. The instructions can in through the message part of vrbo, email, and via direct text from the owner. As a frequent business traveler I am used to a simple process. I am partially to blame as I am admittedly super busy how having checkin info come from three locations was confusing to say the least. I was so busy I did not get to really stay there much but I think think all the rules and regulations reminded me of 11th grade insteqd of easy business travel I am used to. So if you liked at the rules and reuglations of high school go for it. If you want easy non hostel type arrangements go to a hotel. I think if I wasnt so buyy all the rules wouldn't be so irksome. But I am busy and don't want to go back to high shcool. Lovely place for a realexed traveler who has time to read all the rules and difernet inputs but for a busy traveler I would not reccommend. So I have mixed feelings lovely place but kind of like being in high school with all the rules. I hated high school

Thank you Marc for your feedback. You are the first of any of my guests to have responded that way to house rules. Many VRBO owners have specific rules and regulations because these are our homes and our property and not hotel accommodations. I personally live on my property half the year so I’m very particular of its care. I’ve had guests in the past who have not respected my property causing extra expense for damages, repairs, time for cleaning etc. My house rules are posted on the website for all to see you prior to booking so all is transparent as far as what is expected of my guests. When I started this endeavor my rules were much more simple but it became very eye-opening how some guests will not respect your property. I also feel that it’s important to be respectful to the neighbors. It sounds like some of these little things should not have to be spelled out but I find it necessary in order to be able to keep my home in good order and ready for the next guest. I have had excellent reviews all throughout the three years that I have been a host. I do hope though that you enjoyed your stay and will take to heart your feedback.
The property was exactly as described and was very comfortable and cozy. The host was fabulous to work with and she supplied lots of extras at the property for our stay. Would DEFINITELY stay there again, should the occasion arise!

Thank you Jeff! I am so glad you enjoyed your stay and I am dedicated to making it a good experience for my guests. You were an excellent and thoughtful guest.
All previous reviews are on point. The community and neighbors are amazing, the walks to the shops and restaurants were above all of our expectations. The house itself is extremely comfortable and cozy.
Cute one bedroom in the heart of the community. Staying here gave us a great location from which we could easily visit family and friends and yet have our own place to come home to at night. All the necessities are here and the community draws you in. It’s easy to take in a nice morning walk, coffee on the patio, a long bike ride entertainment at the gazebo, and of course shopping.

I loved my stay here. The cottage is so cute and perfect for one person or a couple. Greendale is such a quaint city. One night a pop up band started playing in a driveway down the street. And they were so good! Bike trails close by too and the botanical gardens were beautiful.

The location was perfect for the many people that I had to visit while in Wisconsin. Very clean and very well stocked. Left some wrapping paper in the closet which was the only thing I had to buy!
Came to town for our sons baseball tournament and hit the jackpot with this rental. Perfect for our needs and only 2 miles from the games. Big bonus was getting to experience the cool little village of Greendale! Definitely hope to come back in the future. Property manager was also great to work with.

We needed a place that was not a hotel . My friend, a frequent user, recommended. I am beyond happy. It was quiet & peaceful. Very close to freeway access to all Milwuakee areas. The owner was extremely helpful & communicative. It exceeded my expectations & I would highly recommend this particular owner.

Nice small & cozy home
I had a great week in Greendale and Milwaukee, everything perfect and clean in the house and all amenities as described. House is fully equipped with everything you may need, Walmart for groceries and the Southridge Mall are just in a 3-minutes-driving-distance. Historic Center with several stores and restaurants is only in 5-minutes-walking distance. All necessary information was provided immediately. I highly recommend Jennifers house and would return any time.

Great little historical town!
We were very pleased with our stay in Greendale and the location of our rental. We were able walk and/or ride our bicycles to the historical downtown area and around the community. The historic downtown area has been updated and very well maintained by very involved local citizens. We were also very impressed with how everyone maintained their lawns/homes. You can really tell folks takes pride in their community.
If you get a chance to learn about Greendale - it's very interesting... from it's Greenbelt history to the Chimney Tours to Taste of Home test kitchen. We were so glad we decided to make this base.
Rental is also close / easy drive to downtown Milwaulkee, which too has some very interesting sites - check out the Art Museum at closing time.
Although we could not get our motorcycle trailer down the small side street to the driveway of our rental (calls parked in narrow street) we were able to find another area nearby at last minute.
Lastly, but not leastly, Jenny was terrific. She responded very promptly to my many questions before our travel... Jenny, we greatly appreciate your hospitality and will keep your your place in mind should we make it that way in the future!

Thank you so much Joann for that glowing review. Yes, Greendale is a gem! We moved there when I was a baby and I lived there all through high school. It has a very special place in my heart and I am so thrilled that I can own an “original“. I am sorry you weren’t able to get your trailer through the narrow street but I’m so glad you enjoyed your stay and that it all worked out well. Would be happy to have you at again as a guest anytime!
About the host
Hosted by Jenny Williams
Greendale is my hometown. We moved there when I was a baby and I lived there through high school. Although I moved away from the town for 30 years, I still frequently visited and this village is near and dear to my heart. I was finally able to make my dream come true and purchase a Greendale original. I live on the property off and on during the year.
Why they chose this property
Walking distance to downtown Greendale, Very safe, quiet neighborhood.
