Bear's Cabin is a charming genuine log home surrounded by woods and situated in a small grouping of homes at Hidden Dunes on quiet and pristine Goshorn Lake in Saugatuck, MI. Centrally located, this large (four bedroom, 1,750 square feet) home is the perfect place to relax while exploring Saugatuck's beaches and many other attractions that this quaint resort town has to offer. The cabin has new furnishings, is very well appointed, and has a wonderful scent of pine. Enjoy the delightful Saugatuck summer season or book an off-season stay in order to enjoy colorful fall foliage, hiking, golfing, or cross country skiing.

Hidden Dunes' beachfront and dock on a bay of the clear, serene, no-wake Goshorn Lake are available for your enjoyment and are only a three minute walk from the cabin. Oval Beach, ranked as one of top shorelines in the United States, and Saugatuck Dunes State Park, are both nearby.

Use the cabin's large screened-in porch for meals, conversation, and for enjoying the lingering twilight hours. Before drifting off to sleep, unwind in the whirlpool tub in the upstairs bath. The house features central air, a wood-burning fireplace, and a washer and dryer for guest use. A gas grill and 3 bicycles are at your disposal.

Goshorn Lake is the perfect setting for swimming, canoeing, kayaking and fishing. The fine shops, restaurants, and art galleries of downtown Saugatuck are only a few minutes away. Only ten miles down the road is Holland, Michigan, home to Hope College and the famous Tulip Time Festival. Visit Holland's scenic Lake Macatawa resort area, beautiful State Park, and wonderful downtown selection of upscale shops, microbreweries and restaurants.

Renters will need to bring soaps and personal items. The cabin has a fully equipped kitchen, pillows, and blankets. For your convenience, we have linens and towels on site for guest use. Guests are limited to 8 and only three vehicles may be kept at the property. Nearby off-site parking available for additional vehicles.

Our family of 6 had a wonderful time at the property. We cooked some steaks using the grill, used the firepit for s'mores and enjoyed some good conversation around the dinner table and fireplace. We played some games and just generally relaxed and recharged. Saugatuck is a fun area and visiting Butler Street is a must- eat down by the water and just enjoy the vìew. Great cabin in a great location

Drake was great to work with. We stayed for several days for our daughter’s commencement weekend from Hope College. The location is very peaceful yet close to Holland and Saugatuck. We wish we’d had more time to enjoy the property. We would definitely stay here again.

Brought my parents, husband and kids for a week away. Saugatuck had plenty to keep everyone busy and the house had plenty of room to relax! On rainy evenings the big table was great for games! The basement games and laundry was a great bonus! The kitchen had all the pots and dishes we needed! The gang is already talking about returning!

A cabin near the dunes

Beautiful cabin in a serene, accessible location. Great for family groups with games, etc. included. Three spacious upstairs bedrooms sleep up to 6. A pull out couch on the lower level adds two more sleeping spaces, but it is quite uncomfortable and really could be upgraded to make this truly a setting for 8. Descriptions, instructions, amenities were all very well described in the listing. Communication was easy as well. Would definitely recommend this to friends and family.

The property is a beautiful log home, all wood. Plenty of room inside and on two porches for any activity plus a shady yard for grilling, fires, and lawn games. Lovely forested area that really makes you feel you are truly away (yet Douglas/Sagatuk are a short ride away). It is in a group of 15 or so identical homes that share one small beach and dock that are often crowded and neighbors can be noisy at times. The lake is a bit of a hike, not suitable for senior citizens to get to but fine for others. The lake is not in view of the property, but it is a lovely clean lake for floating and kayaking.

Golf vacation in Saugatuck

'Bear's Cabin' was,perfect for us. Communication and helpfulness was A+, fast and accommodating. Best ever Had a great golf vacation- could not have been more convenient. Excellent courses very close- two within 5 minutes. Cabin was super clean. Two nice updated bathrooms with hot showers and everything you might need. Cabin provides entertainment and recreational opportunities. Two of the bedrooms lovely w queen beds. Anothee with two twin beds - which I found convenient - one to sleep in and the other to lay out my stuff. Another with a comfortable rill out bed. Very nice kitchen w everything you need. Neighborhood is quiet, beautiful and tucked away- just what we wanted. HOA rules help make it that way. Very close to busy busting summer Saugatuck and many other attractions. Would go back in a heartbeat!

Nice cabin

Pros: Goshorn lake is very nice- clean, sandy beach, calm, no speed boats, great for kids and a short walk from the cabin. Cabin is very clean, cozy, comfortable, well equipped kitchen, quiet neighborhood, good parking for 3 cars. Short drive to Oval beach, downtown Saugatuck. Recommend The Mermaid, Pennyroyal and Guardian Brewery restaurants. Cons: some basic kitchen supplies would be nice, such as foil, Saran Wrap, ziplock bags - there was nothing except one roll of paper towels. No spices, no condiments. The screens on the porch need to be repaired, mosquitos chased us inside in the evening. Each guest gets only one towel for the week and there are no beach towels. The only soap is basic liquid hand soap at the sinks. Bed linens are not good quality. The guest “chores” checkout list is obnoxious. You have to strip the beds, wash the towels, start the dishwasher an hour before you leave and check off that you did each thing, on a sheet you are expected to print and bring with you. Given the hefty cleaning fee, it seemed excessive.

A great location; it's surrounded by sand dunes and trees and only steps away from Goshorn Lake. You can walk or bike the two miles to Saugatuck on a paved path.

What makes this property unique

The setting is beautiful - the cabin is nestled between woods and sand dunes and is a minute walk from a bay of Goshorn Lake. Renters have access to a pier and beach front and can climb the bay's 'mini' sand dune to catch a great view of Goshorn Lake and the surrounding unspoiled dunes. Previous renters have commented on how quiet the setting is and how convenient it is to the town of Saugatuck and Oval Beach. Good golf courses are also nearby. The setting is truly unique.
