Denise and Steve were absolutely fantastic hosts, and extremely kind and generous. The Cabin was clean and cozy, and in a beautiful spot In the woods. There are a couple other cabins around it, but it still felt secluded inside. It's about 25 minutes from Great Smoky Mountains National Park, a little over an hour to Gatlinburg, and about 10 minutes from Downtown Sylva, so there's lots to do, especially if you're into nature! Make sure to take a hike up to Clingmans Dome. It's worth it! We would definitely stay here again.
My family and I had a wonderful stay there!! Very cute and clean cabin!! Loved hearing the creek all day long. And the owners are very friendly!! Great stay!!

So happy to hear you enjoyed yourselves...we appreciate YOU!...thank you for your kind words.
We had a lovely stay! The area was so picturesque and the hosts were quick to reply if I had a question. I was comforted by the fact that they live on the property since our cell service was spotty. Would love to go back!

Thank you for your kind words...so happy to hear you enjoyed yourselves...We share our property so others can enjoy the area too!....We appreciate you!
The host was super responsive and was close enough to be able to come over and fix something, but never intruded on our space. However, there were some significant issues that led us to our ratings and that have made us agree we wouldn’t stay again or recommend for long term stay. Here are some of the issues we faced:-Water pressure was so low that you couldn’t run the shower while any sink or toilet was running. -We made most of our meals there but the knives were very dull, making it hard to make food comfortably/safely. If you need anything more than basic pots and pans, bring them yourself. -The stairway is very small. If you are a fat person like we are, it will be difficult to get up. My guess is that if you’re over 300, you may not be able to get up the stairs at all. It’s uncomfortable to walk up if your hips are 45-50 in wide. -The driveway was pretty difficult to find at night (it’s a bridge and you can’t see the cabin until you pull behind the house that’s in the front) and very steep. If you have a bigger car, it may be harder to navigate the driveway.-There was some mouse poop in the bathroom in the corner and then some behind the fridge (had to move the fridge at one point due to it going out- the host was great and fixed it the next day). -It was great to have the AC, but it was so loud. So loud that we couldn’t talk to each other from the loft to the main space and had to have the tv way turned up to hear it.

Thank you for your kind words...regarding the issues - 1. water pressure, this issue started while you were here we are working on it. 2 Knives - Unless we are made aware there is a problem we cannot address - had you let us know we would have replaced them for you - they have now been replaced. 3. There are more pots and pans than burners on the stove - there are 4 burners. 4. Staircase - there are pictures on VRBO of them. 5. Driveway - you do not have to park on the incline - We had a Silverado 3/4 ton truck, 4dr, long bed that was able to cross the bridge - the bridge is 11.5 ft wide. 6. Mouse droppings - there were none in the bathroom when the cleaners left - I check behind them however that's not to say btw 4pm & 1am a mouse didn't get in leave droppings - on occasion a mouse will get in - we are in the forest - I didn't pull the fridge out before you arrived to check for droppings - I did clean it up when I reset the power strip for the fridge - will check from now on. 7. The fridge went out due to moisture getting on/in the power strip - there was a puddle of water next to it - all I had to do was reset it. 8. The A/C is a window unit.
The picture has a nice clean area, there was so much overgrowth that you couldn’t enjoy any kind of a view or landscape. We paid 75.00 so we could take our dog. There was no place for our dog to go to the bathroom outside. We had to walk down the driveway down the road. The driveway was so hard to get in and you have to park on a steep hill. There was a junkyard right next to the cabin. Mosquitoes and bugs were horrible. We could not get upstairs to the bedroom because of the spiral staircase that was so tiny that neither my wife or I could get up we had to sleep on the sleeper sofa, which was horrible. Got up in the morning and there was no cold water in the shower. We were supposed to stay from Sunday night to Thursday morning. We left the first thing Monday morning. We could not stay there. Went to use the oven and it was filthy.

We hate to hear that you were disappointed. We can't address what we do NOT know about. Not sure why you didn't try and contact us or VRBO. That is not overgrowth, it is the foliage we purposely let grow taller for privacy. Our pet fee is $70 - there are places for dogs to take care of their business - on the property of course you would need to clean up after your pet just like you would at a hotel - you can walk your dog(s) up or down the road and there are plenty of places you would not have to pick up after your dog(s). We do have mosquitoes/bugs at times - not always, we live in the mountains - however they are not horrible. There is a picture of the spiral staircase on the site - the majority of our guests are able to get up and down without a problem-sleeper sofa's are not ideal I get it (some guests have said it is comfortable for a sleeper sofa) - we do have extra mattress pad w/extra padding to help. My husband has a large truck and is able to pull over the bridge. You do not have to park on the incline you can park by our cars. There is NOT a junkyard next to our cabin. Our neighbor does have work trucks and stuff. The cabin our guests stay in is tucked up against the National Forest - so from in the cabin you don't see his yard - you may be able to from the porch if looking in that direction but not much. Our guests after your visit did mentioned the water was too hot in the shower and it was taken care of. The oven needs to be wiped down however not filthy.
The stay was great. Clean cute and quiet. The host were AMAZING!!! Can not wait to visit again.

About the host
Hosted by Denise & Steve
My husband, Steve Johnson, and I enjoy being able to escape from the hustle and bustle of the daily grind.
We wanted a property that we could share with family, friends and those who enjoy the mountains as much as we do.
We believe you need to take time for yourself and get away from the everyday madness of life.
We welcome you and yours to share our relaxing cozy cabin located on the side of the North Carolina's Blue Ridge Mountains. Come to the mountains to slow down, take a deep breath and relax!
Why they chose this property
We really like the location of the property because it is close to several activities. We only live about 45 - 60 minutes from the property so it is easy for us to leave the city and enjoy the peacefulness of the mountains and the activities offered. There are two small towns, Sylva and Dillsboro, approximately 5 miles from the cabin.
