About the host
Hosted by Mossy Kilcher

I grew up the eldest of eight on a remote wilderness homestead --the famous Kilcher Homestead--in Homer, Alaska, back in the 40's. In 1976 I was finally able to purchase this little farm by the sea where I raise cattle, horses, chickens, a large raspberry patch, and enjoy giving bird walks and talks of the area.
What makes this property unique
This place has always been a farm! Also it is a well known birder's hotspot, with an abundance of songbirds, cranes, eagles, shorebirds and sea ducks along our shore. You can wake up to the singing of the hermit thrush and the chirping of the fox the lowing of cows in the distance and the whinnying of our two special Morgan horses, La Nina and Starlight! There are miles of beach to hike in total peace and privacy, to gather driftwood and take pictures. My hope is to leave this place safe and as a sanctuary for future generations and for the songbirds with whom I share this special and unique habitat!
