About this property
Alaskan Log Cabin
Welcome to my Alaskan Log Cabin that is cozy, clean, and private. An inviting cabin nestled among trees. Just a short distance from harbors and downtown the cabin provides an exceptional retreat for those exploring the area.
This cabin features three large spacious bedrooms and two bathrooms making it the perfect base camp for your time in Seward. With a maximum occupancy of six guests you'll have plenty of space to unwind and create lasting memories together.
Your stay includes essential amenities to enhance your comfort. Enjoy high-speed internet, fully equipped kitchen, laundry machines so you can pack light and keep your clothing fresh during your travels.
The cabin is located at the end of a quiet subdivision on a large private lot.
About the cabin. The logs were harvested in Haines, Alaska and trucked up to Valdez, Alaska where Serendipity Log Works hand peeled and scribed these logs into what I wanted. Enjoy the hand crafted all traditional mortise and tenon joinery stairs made by Precision Timberworks here in Seward. Filled with live plants and artwork.
Enjoy the outside fire pit with your family and friends. Cook your days catch on the BBQ and enjoy a large kitchen to make your memories and meals.
Soak in a claw foot tub, (circa early 1900's) the bracket was made by local Artist James Minden who used salvaged metal from the 1964 Great Alaskan Earthquake. Or enjoy the tile walk in shower.
Construction was completed in the fall of 2016. After this it took almost two years to do the finish work and the fine detail work of sanding and staining logs, adding art and handpicking furniture to make this house as comfortable, cozy, warm and welcoming as possible.

Unbelievable to find a place this beautiful in such a remote part of the world. Beautifully appointed, stocked with every amenity we could possibly want, and just a few minutes from downtown Seward in a gorgeous setting. We had a lovely time!
A true log cabin with beautiful artistic flair and a lovely display of house plants to make this feel like home. The picture windows let in the light and showcase the views of the mountain, while the bedrooms have great black out curtains so you can sleep during those long Alaskan days. Beds were super comfortable too!
We had a great visit to Seward. The home was fantastic! Super clean and art treasures everywhere you look. I truly enjoyed the outdoor spaces also, the fire pit was great! My wife was impressed with the kitchen and prepared wonderful meals, the Safeway is just down the road. Super cool home!
We really enjoyed our stay. The cabin was immaculate and beautiful. We especially enjoyed sitting around the fire pit and looking at all the beautiful wild flowers and tall majestic pines surrounding the property. Beds were super comfy, living area/loft was great for unwinding after a long day. Fully stocked kitchen was appreciated as we made several meals, as were the laundry facilities. Owner was fabulous. Would definitely recommend this gem.
We loved everything about the house and location. Its a few miles from Seward but far enough away from the busy town. House was clean and nicely set up. Great place to stay!!
This property was above what we expected. It had EVERYTHING you could possibly need. All of the small touches made us feel like well looked after guests in someone's home. I would highly recommend this property to anyone wanting to visit the Seward area. We will stay hear again next time we visit Alaska.
My family and I had the best time in Seward at this property. Beautiful views, clean house and close to a grocery store and downtown Seward. We loved it.
This place exceeded our expectations in so many ways. You can tell how much thought has been put into the property. We are usually always ready to be back home at the end of a trip but this place was so comfortable in so many ways, we could have stayed longer!
This home is like a resort lodge. Every detail is thought out and provided, location is great, and artwork throughout is beautiful. Has nice view when clouds are not consuming the surrounding mountains. This is a great place to use as home base while in Seward.
Beautiful cabin and perfect location for our stay. It is the most uniquely decorated home I’ve ever seen, personalized with artwork by the owner and live plants everywhere…huge windows with lots of light. We loved it! The house is very clean and cozy with all the amenities…definitely not stingy with towels or toilet paper. I am so grateful we found this cabin for our second trip to Alaska. Thank you!
This might be the best place we have ever stayed. It was beautiful, clean and comfortable! None of us wanted to leave! My sister kept finding more things to love about the house all the time!! My favorite parts were the claw foot tub and heated floors!!! Absolutely anything you needed was there!! Excellent is an understatement!!! If we ever go back to Alaska we WILL stay here again
What can I say that all the other great reviews have already said. I had high expectations and this place exceeded them. Great 3 bedroom home that also masks as an art museum.
Everything was even better than described in the listing. Very, very clean, well decorated, well supplied, and extremely comfortable. The four of us would highly recommend .
Gorgeous, A-frame two-story property that was perfect for my wife and I and our two adult children. Very clean and beautiful, setting just outside of Seward with beautiful views of the mountains. Highly recommend!
The house is extremely clean which we appreciate. The various art pieces in the house also added to our experience. We really enjoyed our stay and we highly recommend this house if you are visiting Seward.
Our group comprised of 3 couples loved this beautiful cabin. You could tell much thought and love went into every detail. We were impressed and fascinated with the Owners artwork. The location was great; tucked in the woods not far from the city.

About the host
Hosted by Julie
Born and raised in Alaska. I started working on commercial fishing and tug boats when I was 16 and received my USCG Captains license when I was 21. After many years at sea I began to start missing land and purchased the property when I was 30 and called Seward home.
Why they chose this property
The Lost Lake Subdivision is a quiet small subdivision. Out of the flood zone and high enough to be tsunami safe. Most of the subdivision including my lot is on bedrock so we don’t feel the earthquakes.
What makes this property unique
What makes my property unique is this is my personal home, I only rent it out during the summer months and I live in it the rest of the months. During the off season I am always upgrading the inside or improving the outside garden. This property is an extension of me and who I am. The cabin has been decorated from my experiences in life and I try very hard to create and not purchase what everyone else has in their homes. Staying here you'll enjoy a unique, clean, cozy, private, and beautiful cabin.
