This place exceeded our expectations! It was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the layout was excellent for a family visit. We enjoyed using the patio and grill, too. We would definitely choose this place again!
We enjoyed our stay here very much. The house was like a home away from home. It was quiet and comfortable with plenty of opportunity to play games or just relax in our down time from outside adventures.
The host was very responsive and accommodating. The house was full of amenities, very clean, and located close to town. Will book again if we are in the area. Thank you!
Property owners were very responsive, and provided plenty of literature (some outdated) of things to do in the area - which was very helpful. The outdoor area looked nice, but the weather wasn't conducive to us utilizing it. However we did enjoy the dartboard and pool table! Overall very spacious, comfortable home to stay in.
We wanted to explore the southern Oregon coast, and this place was perfectly located for our first night. We spent lots of time at Tunnel Beach which we thoroughly enjoyed and made sure we visited Tillamook - delicious! Place was clean with great views and check in was so easy.
This was our second stay there. It is a wonderful and clean place. Love to pool table and dartboard..hours of fun for the family. Definitely recommended to anyone

Thanks Jessica! We would welcome you back anytime!
This house is amazing! I can tell that the owner put a lot of thought into the details. The whole house had literally everything you could ever need, from dishes and pots and pans to soap and toiletries. All we had to buy were groceries. We were able to relax and also have fun with all the extras. Quiet neighborhood and the listing was completely accurate! Will stay here again!

Really clean, well maintained . Loved the back patio. Only problem was the washing machine. Think the bearings are going out . Sounded like an airplane taking off

Hi Hope! Thanks for your feedback. I wasn't aware there was an issue with the washer but will have it checked out. Hope you had a good time and we would welcome you back! Melinda
The property was very nice. There were six of us staying and plenty of room. Location worked out great for us. Host responded very quickly to any questions we had during our stay. We had a few issues with the wifi but rebooting modem did help. Only issue I had was that the TV did not have local TV stations. But that is just me - I like to see what is happening in the local area. Master bed was very comfortable. Host generously had basic items in the kitchen. Definitely would stay there again if we are to return to the area.
Communication with the host was great. She always got back to me quickly. The neighborhood of the house is okay, we felt safe. The neighbors did have some small dogs that liked to bark but overall good. The house itself was very clean but needs some updating. Lots of smudges on the walls, the baseboards all need repainted, the furniture and bedding was pretty outdated. The kitchen cupboard door was ripped from the hinges and kept falling when we arrived and one of the kitchen chairs was broken. Very clean but also needs some love. Also there seemed to be quite a few kitchen items missing that made it difficult. There were no kitchen towels. The only “towel “ they had was an apron with no strings. The kitchen knives were all incredibly dull and there was one baking sheet that was not cleaned and very small. We made it worked but came across several of the baking dishes that were not clean and had food on them. The beds in the room with the bunks were very hard and not very comfortable. One of the beds was just a futon mattress and you could feel every bar. There were many good things as well. The house was spacious. We were able to play games and relax. They had a pot to boil crab which made our catch easier to prep for dinner. Having the washer and dryer there was very handy. The back yard was nice and had a great propane fireplace. Also loved the pool table. Great addition!! Overall it was a great option for our family.

About the host
Hosted by Melinda Abresch
My family and I have been going to Winchester Bay for many years salmon fishing. We decided to make the area our home for the future. We enjoy fishing, hunting, hiking and going to the casinos. This area has all that we like but are just not to retirement yet so... we bought a house, remodeled it and thought we would share with others until we can get there permanently. We have been out fishing, crabbing and hunting in the area and have been successful in all! My husband and I have lived in Oregon most of our lives and have raised our son in the Albany area. He is married and we have two beautiful grandchildren. We share our passion with them and in 2024 Our 5 year old grandson caught his first salmon!
Why they chose this property
We bought this property as a foreclosure and have put a lot of love into it to make it what you see today. We hope to retire there one day and be able to have our grandchildren come visit. We hope that our guest will enjoy what we have created for years to come.
What makes this property unique
The unique benefits of this home are that it backs up to Port of Coos Bay property so you can enjoy some makeshift trails in the back going out to the bay. We are just 3-4 blocks from the East Bay Boat Ramp with cleaning station and where they hold the annual salmon derby. We have added the extra enjoyment of the patio and pool table for evening entertainment. Other unique ammenities are flat parking areas for ATVs, Crabbing and clamming equipment, space to hose off a boat, freezers in the garage for bait and catch, patio with dining area, BBQ, bar and gas fire pit.
