The Westwind was completed in 2019 to the highest standards of architectural design and construction. It’s a magical cottage with a commanding view of the ocean and a front row seat to all the comings and goings of “The Cove”. The Westwind is part of a private 68 acre summer resort hideaway offering unlimited access to the ocean, quiet forest paths to explore and a private 11 acre island. "Floods Cove" has been operated by the same family for over 118 years and is a time capsule for those seeking to find that perfect quintessential Maine oceanfront vacation spot.
No expense was spared whatsoever on the home and landscaping of this cottage. If you are looking for a no compromise top of the line cottage and a family-friendly summer vacation with lot's of outdoor activities for the kids or an adult retreat to get away from it all this cottage is for you. The Westwind was designed to be “Camp Chic” with a modern twist including knotty pine ceilings, nickel gap white walls, poplar doors, and crystal doorknobs. The Westwind has three bedrooms including a master bedroom & bathroom on the 1st floor and two additional bedrooms and bath upstairs. For overflow there’s a nice cool queen bed in new dry basement if needed.
One of the best features of the Westwind is the large wrap around porch that features breathtaking views of the ocean, the beach, "Pa's Island," and all of Flood's Cove. You will be able to relax, read, socialize, take a nap, and so much more while enjoying the cool summer ocean breezes and warm sunshine of the Maine coast.
You have private access to the beach and ocean right in front of the cottage, where you can wade in the water, take a swim or explore over a mile of private shore frontage in kayaks and/or paddle boards (included). When you are done rinse off with an outside hot water shower to relax the soul.
Why rent a "cottage" when you can have an "estate". You will leave the Westwind feeling refreshed, restored and looking forward to your next visit to this magical cove.
The Westwind is also a NO PET and NO SMOKING cottage.

Quiet get away

The front porch is wonderful! The water views are beautiful! The property has such a history. The Westwind provides 3 bedrooms 2 baths. Comfortable and fit our needs. Our Host Chuck was very hospitable. Everyone we met was friendly.

Idyllic location and great house

We thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay in Flood’s Cove. The house has a great porch with fantastic view of the cove - perfect for reading, coffee, meals of a glass of wine. House is new and well equipped (missing only a dishwasher, but with a washer and dryer) and comfortable for the 4 of us to spread out. Convenient location to explore the Maine coast including Boothbay, Damariscotta and Rockland. Chuck is very easy to work with and helpful. We’d love to return to this wonderful spot.

Floods Cove is Maine as it should be.

Paraphrasing the Billboard “Maine, Life as it Should Be - is perfect for Floods Cove. Beautiful property and house - really well equipped and furnished nicely. Porch view terrific. Really quiet - lobster boats are close enough to see but far enough as to not rouse you from bed too early. Owners are available 24/7 and extremely responsive. Friendship has just about everything you need at the General Store - do get a pizza - and Jameson Point seafood restaurant- really fresh and delicious. We will be back!!

You will have unlimited access to the water, beach, private grounds, private island, forest paths, private island and over 1.25 miles of shore frontage. Flood's Cove is located in Friendship, Maine which is an off the beaten path fishing village bursting with history, beauty and the full glory of the Maine coast.
