About this property
Hidden Gem on Westport Island
Welcome to Mid-Coast Maine! Our island house has woodsy privacy, a lovely water view and access to our dock on the Sheepscot River...all within a 10 minute drive from Route 1. The path to the dock is steep, but we use it regularly and are in our 60s and 70s. Inside our house, we have a queen bedroom on the first floor and a double bedroom and a twin bedroom upstairs. We can privately sleeps 5 but a 6th space is available on a comfortable twin pull-out couch in our upstairs loft. We keep our fully equipped kitchen with oven, stovetop, microwave, toaster, coffee maker stocked with cooking basics like: olive oil, vinegar, spices, flour, sugar as well as tea and coffee . We have two full bathrooms and a washer/dryer if you need it.
Our spacious deck overlooking the Sheepscot River provides glorious views. Many birds live in our area - including a pileated woodpecker!
We provide a 2-person canoe, a single kayak and a 2-person sit-on-top type ocean kayak. We also provide a charcoal grill with necessary grilling tools. Our yard is shady with grass for a good place to use our various balls, frisbees and even a corn hole game. We have our yard and periphery treated with an organic mosquito and tick repellent to help reduce these summertime pests.
Two sandy ocean beaches and one lake beach, along with many shops, restaurants and galleries are within 30 minutes from Rocky Road. Portland, the largest city near us, is an easy hour's drive with all of its cultural offerings.
