This two-story round house is located on a hillside overlooking the beautiful Willamette Valley of Oregon. The 1,200 square-foot home is located on over 20 acres of woods below, providing total isolation and sweeping views of rolling hills, farmland, and vineyards. This house is a perfect retreat from the hustle of urban life. The house feels isolated, but is also conveniently located only 5 minutes from the small town of Amity, 10 minutes from the quaint downtown of McMinnville, 30 minutes from Salem, and a little over an hour from Portland. The area is saturated by vineyards and wineries, with the closest literally located within walking distance (our neighbors, the Keeler Estate). The home is fully-furnished and offers a spiritual/peaceful feel, with numerous Eastern spiritual statues and paintings throughout the home. Behind the round house is a small gazebo, which provides the perfect space for yoga, meditation, or artistic endeavors. The house is entered through the top floor, which has an open floor plan and large windows overlooking the valley. This large room is where the full kitchen, living room, dining space, and wood stove are located. A writing desk and chair facing the view are also located here. Down the stairs you will find two small rooms (one master bedroom with a queen sized bed, the other with a full sized bed) and a bathroom with the washer/dryer unit located inside. The master bedroom has a separate entrance leading to a small sitting area and fire pit outside, and the top floor opens up to the larger deck overlooking the valley. The two bedrooms make the property best suited to 2-4 people.
The closest town, Amity, is a quaint village that is slowly transforming into a wine- lover and vacationer's dream. The Coelho tasting room is located downtown, as well as a wine bar and taphouse just down the street. A local coffee shop named the Common Cup offers coffee and waffles for breakfast. The Blue Goat restaurant offers a delicious farm-to-table dinner option. Just 10 minutes away in McMinnville, numerous restaurants, wineries and breweries can be found, as well as bookstores and other shops. Both downtown areas are very walkable and their rooftop bars and restaurants offer breathtaking views of the valley.
We are following a strict disinfecting protocol and have taken every precaution to ensure a safe travel experience for our guests during this time.

This property is perfect for a trip to Oregon's wine country. The views are gorgeous, the kitchen is well-stocked, the house is roomy and comfortable, the deck and fire pit are wonderful outdoor options. The location made it easy to explore vineyards, to go hiking, and to shop for antiques. We plan to return next summer for our third visit.
Views are amazing and house/grounds are very comfortable! Recommendations for vineyards to visit were spot on. We felt we experienced the Williamette Valley at its best.
Great location central to numerous wineries. Wonderful views, night sounds were the local owls. Excellent functional kitchen, but we spend much of out time using the great outdoor spaces
We had a restful 4 day stay in the Willamette Valley. Walking by day, wine tasting in the afternoon, and nice quiet nights in your comfortable yurt. Thanks for sharing your home.
We had an amazing time at this property. This is an absolute must for those who love nature. Wildlife is everywhere and the property sits on a beautiful hillside overlooking the valley below. Highly recommend for couples looking to getaway in wine country, but also want to experience the outdoors.
This is a great property. The view was excellent and it was very quiet and relaxing. The soaking tub on the deck was fun and the view from the tub was amazing. Lots of nice room to walk and enjoy nature. We have already recommended this place to friends. We would highly recommend staying here and we will be back again!!
Great property with great views from inside and the decks. Very quiet. Very well supplied inside and out. Nice covered parking area that can hold 2 vehicles. Very good communications with property owner
Absolutely gorgeous property! The house was so unique, we have never seen anything like it before. It was well decorated and clean. The views were absolutely stunning, and enjoying them with a glass of wine in the outdoor tub was such a cool experience! We all said how much we want to stay here again in the future. The only thing I would change is the couch upstairs, which is pretty uncomfortable being able to feel the springs, which still wouldn’t deter us from returning. The kitchen was also the best stocked I have ever seen in a rental, and nice appliances.Highly recommend this place!
This property was amazing. A beautiful round house with all the amenities that one would need. Quite and comfortable. The beds and the whole house was extremely comfortable. Owner is wonderful at communicating and responding quickly.
Loved staying here. The house was welcoming (though on of my dogs took umbrage to the large Buddha on the wall) and it was well equipped to support our stay. The views were breathtaking and listening to the wind through the trees was eerily and hauntingly beautiful. I would love to come back and stay to watch a meteor shower — the platform deck looked tailor made for just such activities. The beds were soft but comfortable, there were plenty of linens and towels, and the house was very clean. And the covered parking was a nice surprise. Only big piece of feedback was that the coach cushions could do with some more cushioning. And if you decide to book here try to arrive in the daylight the first time - we had white out fog as we drove up to the house and it was disconcerting to try and navigate through. We would book again in a heartbeat.
Best place I’ve ever stayed and I’ve stayed at a lot of 4 and 5 star hotels! I think we almost cried when we had to go home to Napa, a place that I love. No description or photo can match its beauty. We will be back!
We loved our three night stay at this beautiful, unique round house in the woods. Lots of windows with gorgeous views. A very cool separate round yoga/meditation room with mats & incense. Several outdoor porches to sit & enjoy the views & solitude. Even an outdoor bathtub with plenty of privacy. We'll definitely be back! Highly recommend!
This is a beautiful property with amazing views. It is secluded and quiet with woods all around, but it was situated ideally for multiple wine tastings in the area. The kitchen and bathroom are well-equipped (except for coffee and Kleenex). The bed is comfy and the shower is larger than most rentals. We enjoyed sitting on the deck every morning and evening, and we were able to enjoy the fire pit a few times. The host provided wonderful suggestions for tasting rooms, hiking, and restaurants.
This is a special property. Your privacy is 100% guaranteed, and even walking along the roads in the area it is very quiet. The home is located just a few minutes from Amity which boasts two lovely wine tasting opportunities, and only 15 minutes from McMinnville and numerous other wineries. The bird life in the woodlands is rich, and the sunset over the valley below breathtaking. The home is well appointed, creatively curated and quite comfortable.
This was a wonderful place to stay. The view was spectacular. The place was very quiet and secluded, which was what we were looking for. The location was excellent, being close to any number of wineries, close to McMinnville (home of Howard Hughes' famous Spruce Goose!), and within reasonable driving distance of the coast or bigger cities like Portland and Salem. We took a day trip to the Tillamook Creamery and Oceanside Beach, and it was wonderful. The house itself has excellent environmental controls. We stayed during a heat wave, and had no problem keeping cool. The kitchen was the best I've seen in a rental in terms of supplies and equipment. There really wasn't anything negative to speak of.
Beautiful private location near top of hill surrounded by forest with a wonderful view of the Willamette Valley below. The rental was well stocked and clean. A great place to relax after a day tasting the wonderful wines of Willamette.
As soon as you pull off onto the gravel drive you can see the view of the valley. Beautiful vistas. The home is unique, comfortable and just lovely. It really felt like a sanctuary for peace and quiet. The space was clean and inviting.
I enjoyed the stay and will return for sure.
Been there, done that, will do again. It's a great rental.

About the host
Hosted by Amy Hart
My partner and I are academics in California. We have family in the Pacific Northwest and frequently travel through the Willamette Valley on our road trips to Washington. We fell in love with the area and decided to purchase a home there, where we now spend as much time as possible, and share it with others when we are away.
Why they chose this property
The property is an academic's and wine-lover's dream. The house is located on extensive, isolated woods, making you feel very isolated and at peace. It is an ideal place to write a book or just read a few. The sweeping views of the Willamette Valley are also breathtaking and make you feel in touch with nature without feeling claustrophobic in the woods. The location is also within a 10-15 minute drive of some of our favorite wineries, and even closer to great restaurants, making the location convenient for having a night out as well.
What makes this property unique
The property offers privacy while also being very conveniently located. You won't hear neighbors or city noises here, but if you just drive (or even walk) down the hill, you'll quickly find yourself surrounded by wineries and restaurants.
