About this property
Walk out the door, walk onto the beach!
Our house is the only one situated on a public beach in the City, where you can walk out the door and be right on the beach! It is located on the bicycle trail and is two blocks from the Dunkirk Lighthouse, as well as Point Gratiot Park. There are lake views from the living room, kitchen, sun room porch & 2nd floor master bedroom. There is a finished bedroom off the back of the garage that one has to walk through the garage to get to, that has 2 full beds, a sofa sleeper and has it's own air conditioning unit. This bedroom also has a tv that can be used with streaming apps. There is air conditioning in the living room, as well as in both bedrooms upstairs (one bedroom with a queen and twin bed, the master bedroom with a queen bed and 2 futons). There is a new gas insert fireplace for use in the colder months.
There is an enclosed, private outdoor area off the back of the house that has a covered area with outdoor furniture for you to use and enjoy. There is plenty of off beach parking with a one car garage the renter may use. There is a propane barbecue grill located in the back yard for you to use. There is a nice garden of perennials for you to enjoy in the back yard also. The house is a pleasant mix of cabin and beach house.

The home is SO welcoming and warmly decorated. It is spectacular to sit & look out at the lake or cozy up by the fire. The hosts were fantastic… the place has everything you could need to settle in for a restful stay. We WILL be back!
House was as advertised. One minor issue cane up and the property manager answered me right away. Check in and check out was smooth and easy. We had an enjoyable stay!
My family and I spent 5 days at Kathleen’s home. It’s well stocked with necessities including beach items, toys and books. Kids loved spending time outside and we were fortunate to have great weather. Thanks so much for sharing your home with us!
This was our second stay, and it was perfect just like the last time! Clean, great views, great amenities, and we even got to enjoy the little backyard area this time.
Property was as advertised very clean and comfortable. We came to explore the Great Lakes and this was a great spot for that. Would recommend to others.

Great bang for the buck!
This place was great! We enjoyed the amenities of the house and the location couldn’t have been better. Host was friendly and available but allowed us our privacy. Outside area at the house was great. House is well stocked. Would visit again!
Myself and 5 friends from the Fredonia Class of '83 planned our stay here for our 40th reunion. the place was perfect! Everything was amazing and I highly recommend
Every year our "gal pals" go on a vacation. This was one of our favorite spots. The house had everything you could need or ask for.

About the host

I have been a City of Dunkirk resident for 28 years. I love my City and believe it has a lot to offer as a permanent place to live as well as a vacation destination! I work for the City of Dunkirk for the past 25 years and work in human resources. My husband Al and I live 2 short blocks from the Cedar Beach House, so we can be there for you if need be. It's a lovely area to live/rent.
Why they chose this property
The lake views are spectacular! There is lots of bird life to enjoy, as well as watching the boaters and beachcombers. The house is situated on a bike path. You can walk or bike on the path with the two vintage bicycles provided, through the public park. There is also a bird sanctuary beside the park that you can walk the wooded paths on. You can hunt beach glass right out your front door as well as bring a chair onto the beach and enjoy the sun, water, sand and a good book! The house is close to local restaurants. It is a short mile to the City Pier where there are free live bands that perform every Thursday night in the summer months.
Along with the lighthouse, there are many other interesting places to visit. The newly opened National Comedy Center is located in Jamestown, a 30 minute drive from the house. There is also Chautauqua Institution that has many cultural events in the summer. Roger Tory Peterson Institute is also located in Jamestown, and a longer drive, but still close is Niagara Falls. We are also located in the middle of the wine trail that runs along Route 5 from NY to PA!
What makes this property unique
-The house has a one car garage attached to the house. The guests have use of the entire garage. -There are cathedral ceilings throughout the 2nd floor. -There is a secret, private garden area in the back with plenty of seating, night party lights and a barbecue grill.
