The home and barn is original to the property. Relax in our treed and manicured 2 1/2 A yard and outdoor large patio, with several locations for socializing or quietly reading or meditating. Enjoy the sites, sounds, smells, and stunning summer sunsets of country living.

Our goal is to make our private home your home away from home. You will share our home with us, the owners, and will have access to most of the home and yard but will have your own private areas. We also provide parties/weddings in our barn, please inquire for more information.

We are sorry, but are unable to take reservations at this time due to COVID19 and recent changes in the pandemic. We are sad we can't share our home and so missing our guests. You can, however, send us an inquiry and we can contact you if the situation changes.

The home is furnished with a country and traditional flavor with many antiques and nautical and country theme. New carpet upstairs.

We also offer barn and barnyard weddings, parties, and celebrations in our century old barn, with a farm to table food option when in season, fully catered and professionally planned and executed to your expectations. It's also a great place for a family reunion or celebration. Please inquire.

The upstairs has 3 bedrooms for rent and accommodates up to 5 people. Bathrooms are shared. There is a half bath on the 1st floor and a upstairs bathroom has a full tub/shower and double sink with large mirror with Hollywood lighting. Fun times at the Farmhouse

We truly enjoyed our time in Carlton at the Lake Country Farmhouse. Sue and Cy are excellent hosts. Their genuine interest in our comfort made our bittersweet journey doable. Our only issue was that we didn't have an attached bath, but we still felt comfortable moving around the upstairs. We came as strangers and left as friends. Bill and I would recommend staying there to everyone.

About the host

Host profile image
As husband and wife we share a passion for water activities and the outdoors, one reason we love living in beautiful rural Lake Country of Western NY, only minutes from Lake Ontario, Lake Alice and Oak Orchard River. We also live occasionally in the Tampa Bay area only minutes from the ocean with its Gulf beaches, parks, and trails for the same reason.

We are hosts to both homes. In NY we are on-site hosts and share space with you in our bed-and- breakfast style century old farmhouse. You will often have privacy as we have a very busy work and active lifestyle so are in and out on a regular basis. Our FL rental in the Tampa Bay area is either a bedroom while we are there or the full house when not.

Our favorite activities are sailing, kayaking, paddle boarding, bicycling, hiking, traveling, and snowshoeing. The more active we can be the better it is for us. Sue’s experience and professional expertise in health coaching, wellness, and fitness carries over into our personal life. We take her knowledge and put it into action every day and strive for a fun, active and healthy lifestyle. Ask about her health coaching and fitness training services offered on and off-site.

Sue has lived in the area all her life and we have lived in our farmhouse for almost 40 years. We have 3 adult children and 4 grandchildren. We love to travel, learn about new places, meet new people from all walks of life, and provide hospitality to others. In addition to our careers, we also have an event and wedding barn at our NY location where we offer first class catering and services.

Because we know what it’s like to be away from home, our goal is to make our home your home while you are away from your home, and make your stay as comfortable and pleasant as possible.

Why they chose this property

Our home is only a few minutes from Lake Ontario, Lake Alice and Oak Orchard River. For a couple who has passion for sailing, swimming, kayaking and other water and outdoor sports, this farm country home is a perfect location. It offers the peace and quiet of the country but easy access to the lake, parks, and outdoor activities. However close enough to many activities in Rochester, Buffalo, and Niagara Falls or within easy driving distance of many day trips such as Letchworth State Park, the Finger Lakes and their wineries, or Watkins Glen State Park. And if you want to go further, we are near 3 airports for easy access to the rest of the world. Life is slower here and offers a respite from the hustle and bustle of life around us. Its great country living!
