Beautiful beach house

Location of property is phenomenal and right on the beach. The house had everything we needed as well and anything else we needed the owner was very available for and took care of right away. Check in was seamless and having kitchens in both the main and side cottages was a bonus.

Just perfect

I cannot overstate how wonderful our stay was at Lorna's home. A group of 10 adults, we had ample room to scatter and read separately, and also come together for meals and group activities. The location can't be beat. I've never spent so much time in a single day at the beach. It was so convenient having the house right there, just seconds away. I could have stayed forever. I very much hope we have the chance to return. It was an incredible trip. Thank you Lorna!

Incredible stay at this amazingly situated seaside cottage. Perfect "getaway" for a family. Amazing views of the ocean from nearly every window! Beautifully cared for cottage - you will end up spending most of your time on the deck gazing at the sea and listening to the waves crash. Highly recommend.

Perfect for Kids, Families, and Friends

We were fortunate enough to get a booking here and it was a fantastic experience. The owner was great with communicating. The property itself was ideal for our mixed group which included children. We had days of sun on the beautiful beach - clear water just at your feet! And we also had some rain but the location was close to great areas of interest. We ended up staying in anyway as the accommodations were comfortable and welcoming. It’s the personal touches that truly got me too - when we arrived they had set out dollhouses and age-appropriate toys because they were aware of the kids! So thoughtful! Can’t wait to return next summer!

Amazing Labor Day Weekend....

Seaside is perfect for a relaxing beach getaway! Lorna was so communicative and awesome, and you can tell that she loves this house so much! The house was very clean and well maintained, both inside and out. Well stocked with beach chairs and accessories. Because it's directly on the water, it does run on a water tank, so be sure to bring your own linens and drinking water- but this is typical for any of the houses in the Charlestown area. We rented out both sides, so we had all 6 bedrooms for a family gathering and it was perfect. The best part of this house is definitely the location and the amazing views. You are directly on the oceanfront, right next door to the public beach -but you have your own private beach area that is roped off and kept very clean. In the mornings, the east bedrooms have amazing sunrise views and the deck is a perfect place to enjoy a sunrise coffee in the morning. You have a clear view of Block Island and the boats passing by. We had a relaxing, wonderful stay. Highly recommended.

Beware

Overpriced with house in very poor condition. During the course of the week we had major electrical and plumbing problems as well as multiple breakages and malfunctions. The owner denied most problems although renters from the week before had also said their stay was a nightmare of maintenance problems. Furthermore, the home was not clean. When we went to use the oven there was an old pizza box with old pizza in it, we had ant problems the whole time, and the place looked like it hadn’t been cleaned. This is a very overpriced property and I would not recommend it Eve and Tom

Greatest Location

Exactly what we wanted- right on beach- lots of space- well maintained- everything was easy- highly recommend - honestly the most enjoyable New England beach I have ever been to.

Misleading

Beach is NOT private or isolated. It is a roped off section of a town beach. We caught a mouse while there-mouse droppings all over kitchen counter. The couch literally exploded with stuffing coming out. The kitchen was missing so much. The bedding was visibly dirty. The owner was responsive when there was a problem. Look around for other less expensive 6 bedrooms on the same strip before you book this property. It is NOT worth the money. No refund when requested either as she said we left it a mess!!!! IT WAS A MESS. I have never left a review before-Nevermind a negative one but I wish I had read this before I booked.

Right on the Beach

What a relaxing vacation we had at this beach house! Kitchen was well stocked, beds were comfortable, and the owner was organized and responsive. The best part, of course, if having the beach right outside your door. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

This is a great New England beach home and location. Our kids and grandkids had the time of their lives. The beach was right at our front door. Our family will have memories forever.

Amazing property. Can’t pick a better location!

We had an amazing week at Seaside. Kids could go to the beach, walk to Johnny Angels, walk to the breachway to fish, walk to the pond to rent kayaks. And the house is super comfortable for large groups. And you can’t beat the view!! I would definitely rent it again. Thanks Lorna!

UNBEATABLE LOCATION

Comparing notes with friends and family who also took beach vacations this summer, I’m glad we chose Seaside. First, for the Rhode Island beaches—easy to get to, low-key, not crowded. And this beach was quite lovely, especially since we were perched on a deck right over it. Nothing more restorative than gazing out at that gigantic horizon and expanse of uninterrupted blue…except for sleeping to the sound of surf. We spent a lot of time on the deck, as it features all the benefits of the beach with none of the ordeal of getting to it or sitting on it! The house was wonderfully situated, and comfortable in a laid-back, beachy way; I especially appreciated the decent mattresses upstairs. The configuration of the house turned out to be the best of its features: we four “older” adults inhabited the main abode (btw for couples, a short hall separates the 2 queen bedrooms upstairs, there is no door or curtain) and my 3 adult children who stay up all night inhabited the apartment (queen, small bunkroom), so we didn’t suffer from each other’s schedules though we used only the main kitchen and ate all our dinners together. The kitchen is well kitted out (although some lids for the pots would be nice) and we made full use of the fresh seafood and produce and pie stand up the street. Our best adventure was a day on Block Island, right across the sound, where we rented bikes and mopeds and toured the entire island. Even though I’m not a beach person, I’d return to this rental. Stunning Labor Day Weekend

We arrived for a long labor day weekend....5 couples. There is no better property for view, location and access to your private beach. The bunk bed rooms were small. There is a large master bedroom upstairs. Each floor has a full bath. The attached apartment has a full stocked kitchen, full bath, a bed bunk room and another with double bed. We had great weather so most of our time was spent on the deck/beach. There is nothing missing from this rental. The property was clean & maintained. We would definitely go back.

Awesome end of summer weekend

What an Awesome house. Location is great, cant get any better then on the beach. There was plenty of room for all in my party. The description was right on point and the Owner's response to my questions was immediate. We rented the entire house for the weekend and it worked out perfect. You can tell how much the owner cares because of the wonderful updated floors are beautifule and the couches are comfortable and best of all listening to the waves crashing while you fall asleep. It's location is convienent to the taste of Mystic and Point Judith. After the first shower you learn not to open you mouth or eyes( you are on the ocean) but other than that it was a wondrful weekend in a beautiful house. Cant wait for next year. Thanks

A true seaside cottage

Desparate to get to the beach, I inquired about this property since I wasn't sure how many people/families from my group would be going and the ad said sleeps 4-12. Well, lucky for us the side for 4 was open! (Who knew we'd be lucky enough to be at the beach?!) Because the owner was so accomodating we were able to pull off a wonderful 3 days right on Charlestown Beach in her little beach cottage. I just read the other reviews and can confirm the location, location, location! Also I just saw the recommendation for the Matunuck Oyster Bar. Luckily we found that on our own and had a great meal in spite of the pouring rain (entrees got soaked upon delivery, but were still good). We saw a terrific "light show" and fortunately recieved our meal prior to the restaurant losing power. We were glad we had power at the house when we returned! Also glad the "master" bedroom had a ceiling fan and more glad we brought a small one from home. I suggest you bring one because if you have to close the windows due to rain, it does get pretty stuffy, otherwise there is a great breeze! Having just gotten a smaller car, we were thrilled beach chairs and umbrellas were found right under the house en route to the beach and when done with them you drop them off right next to the outdoor shower! Yep, the shower is salty, A new experience but not terrible. I guess it could be handy if you have a sore throat. We noticed no smells expect the fabulous salt air. Our last night we "took out" food from the Breachway Grille. Half of it was ready before the rest, and we had to wait so some items didn't travel as well as others, but overall it was very good. I bet if you ate there it would have been even better. For us, we were having such a terrific beach day and early evening we chose to stay on the deck, so a little soggy food, was worth it! If you are willing to sacrifice some space* for location on a terrific beach, rent this cottage. *We were 2 adults and 2 grown kids with another visiting for the day. It's perfect if the weather is good, cozy if it isn't. It's probably ideal for a couple with small children.
