BOOK NOW for the Fall COLOR TOUR


Visit our home and enjoy a private suite that is attached to the house and contains 1 bedroom and 1 bath. There is also a very comfortable couch in the living room area for sleeping. This room can sleep 4 people with available cots, two (2) adults and 1 or 2 small children, ages 12 and under. In the suite is a private bathroom with a shower and a claw-foot bathtub with dimming lights overhead, which creates a romantic and relaxing setting. The suite is furnished with a bed and dresser. THIS UNIT DOES NOT HAVE A KITCHEN. There is no smoking on the premises. There are no pets allowed in the suite. There is also a wood burning stove which provides warmth on those chilly nights. This suite has its own PRIVATE ENTRANCE. There is an additional charge for children over the age of 12, $50 per night, payable BEFORE check in with an additional sturdy queen-size blow-up mattress. There is a MINIMUM 2 NIGHTS STAY.
Our house is located in the Victorian Port City of Manistee and is right on Lake Michigan. Even though the weather is cooler, you can still walk the beach and enjoy breath-taking sunsets. Be embraced with the peace, joy and serenity at our home. There is off-street parking for one car only. Any other cars would have to park on the street, (which is no problem). The suite is furnished with a dining table and 4 chairs. We have provided a microwave, a toaster oven (with small grill) and a small coffee pot. There is also a mini-fridge. There is an outdoor firepit for additional ccooking and for the ambiance of the evening. A flat screen TV and WiFi are available. The suite is wheelchair accessible. Only 10 minutes away is the Little River Casino where you can try your luck 24/7.

We have steps that lead to our private beach, where you can walk for miles in either direction.

We really enjoyed our stay, especially the spectacular view and beautiful location. The property has a lot of charm, although some of the furnishings are a bit dated and the food preparation area is fairly simple. We also hadn’t realized the owners’ space was directly next to ours, so we occasionally heard them and had a little less privacy than expected. The room had a slight older smell as well. Overall, we appreciated the beautiful setting and think that with a few updates, this could be a lovely place.

Fantastic location! Only problem we had was cell reception. We could not make calls most of stay. My suggestion is to have directions and house info on screen shot on phone or print it. Once we got close lost reception and could not pull up check in information. Had to drive back towards town to get reception and then screen shotted info then went back to home. Other than that it was a great stay!

Great little place right on the lake

Wonderful little place on Lake Michigan. Great views and good restaurants in the area. The wood stove was nice on a cool, late spring stay.

We recommend this location, the hosts are wonderful, friendly, and available if needed, but not “in the way.” This VRBO is attached to the Hosts home but has its own entrance. The property is beautiful with gardens, flowers, fountains, and is a bird sanctuary. One could stare out the bathroom window all day seeing a gorgeous variety of birds. The view of the lake & coast is unbelievable; eat outside at the picnic table. The Queen bed is very comfortable and there are curtains which can be drawn to seclude the BR from the family room area; this is very nice. Take a walk on the beach for 2-3 miles down, it is virtually uninhabited except by deer and waterfowl (whose footprints you may try to identify! We always have a sound machine for sleeping so cannot comment on night noises. Beware of the next door neighbors to the South who do not have their property lines clearly marked, do not know where the high water mark really is, (or deny it,) and are not friendly. They do not like being next to a VRBO. There is plenty of empty beach beyond their property, but go further S than you think you need to. Port in few gallons of water to this VRBO, as the water near beaches is safe but tends to have a slight beach smell and taste. It’s good for coffee, but you may not prefer it for regular drinking. WARNING: you may have NO cell service at this location, so map it AND HAVE A SCREENSHOT OF HOW TO CHECKIN before leaving town. Our only real disappointment on this trip was with wifi & TV.

Great place to stay for our fall color drive

We totally enjoyed staying at Gary & Shirley's place. They were hospitable and the place was clean and beautiful right on Lake Michigan. We enjoyed walks on the beach, sitting around the fire at night, and driving to TC. Thank you for sharing this wonderful get-a-way place!

Kevin had a delightful weekend at our home. He was courteous and respectful. Since it is a private suite we were conscious to respect his privacy. They were able to sit on the deck and enjoy the beauty of Lake Michigan.

Great fall getaway!

My husband and I enjoyed our anniversary trip at this location. There are plenty of activities to do local. Owners are friendly and quick to respond to any questions. I would recommend this for any couple trying to get a short getaway.
