Located just outside of Tossa de Mar, this Spanish-style townhouse has gorgeous sea views, a private garden, and a shared swimming pool and playground. The quiet neighborhood has its own spectacular beach just a few minutes' walk down the hill (400 m). The property is a beautiful 2.3 km (1.4 miles) walk to Tossa de Mar Castle, 8 km (5 miles) from lively Lloret de Mar, 23 km (14 miles) from Girona-Costa Brava Airport, and 100 km (62 miles) from Barcelona airport.
From the house, step on to your spacious terrace and enjoy breathtaking sea views. Just a few steps away is your private garden, landscaped with Mediterranean plants (lavender, rosemary, bougainvillea, and cypress, bay and olive trees), as well as an oceanview swimming pool and secluded playground shared with the surrounding villas.
The semi-detached townhouse is small and simple, with a built surface of 120 m2 and a plot of 400 m2, but cozy and practical, with everything you need for a comfortable holiday. The downstairs living space has a full kitchen, living, and dining areas, plus a television, DVD collection, and books and games; upstairs, there are three small but comfortable bedrooms and two baths. Heat, free WiFi, and one small private parking space plus street parking on site. There are also extensive outdoor spaces with furniture for dining and relaxing, along with a charcoal grill. The small, private neighborhood is protected by a security barrier and includes a shared outdoor pool and a children's playground.
Note: there is air conditioning only on the main floor. Upstairs, where the bedrooms are located, we provide fans (so far, this has not been a problem for guests due to sea breezes even in summer).
The house is ideally located for a quiet beach holiday, but also for exploring the region. Known as "the pearl of the Costa Brava" and one of the most beautiful towns in Girona, Tossa de Mar features a marvelously preserved medieval walled village and castle, Vila Vella, that was built to protect the city from pirates and is still inhabited today. The castle towering over a gorgeous 385-metre-long sandy beach is an iconic image that will stay with you forever once you've visited.
Once in Tossa, stroll through the narrow cobbled streets of the walled city, ascend to the wall-top walk for a new perspective, climb to the lighthouse and relax in the Bar del Far while enjoying its breathtaking views of the rugged coast, or amble through the streets just beyond the castle, which are lined with shops, restaurants and bars. The region is internationally known for its excellent cuisine and especially its seafood, and Tossa's restaurants do not disappoint. Tossa has several music venues as well, while nearby Lloret de Mar abounds in clubs and discos.
The area, surrounded by picture-perfect beaches as well as idyllic, isolated coves and rugged mountains, also offers endless opportunities for sport and adventure. Crystal-clear waters make it perfect for water sports including kayaking, scuba diving, snorkeling, and sailing. Tossa is a cyclists' and hiker's paradise as well, surrounded by rugged hills and forests with miles of well-maintained trails as well as Girona's famous "vias verdes" ("green ways"). Or join the professional cyclists who come to Tossa for training on its hilly, spectacular coastal roads.
Finally, Tossa and the surrounding area have much to offer to culture lovers. In the 1920s and 30s, artists flocked to the town, then a quiet fishing village. Marc Chagall often spent summers here, and his painting “The Violin Player” hangs in Tossa's museum, which is well worth a visit. Within a short drive or bus ride from the villa, the Dalí museum in Figueres is world-famous, and the many museums and cultural events of Girona offer cultural activities year-round.
A charming and quiet village, Tossa can get quite busy during the high season—but our neighborhood remains peaceful as it is separated from the main town by a nature reserve, and is therefore ideal for holidays for couples or families with children. Not suitable for groups seeking nightlife and entertainment.
A car is useful to explore the Costa Brava, although the neighborhood has excellent public transportation as well as two supermarkets and two restaurants within easy walking distance.
