Eclectic home in quiet neighborhood with almost everything for complete comfort! Lots of space for get-together's. Groups use our home as a meeting place for Magnolia trips, Baylor events, holidays, reunions, weddings, sporting events and work lodging. Huge back yard for pets (fees apply). Sleeps 8-9 comfortably (based on double occupancy). TV's with Roku and Spectrum cable in living room and all bedrooms. Read full amenity list below.

We almost always stay in our little backyard house when guests are in the main house. This is not to keep tabs or because we worry about the home but because I traveled several years for work and because my health isn't what it used to be. I have developed sensorial issues and have low energy due to a mystery ailment, so walking 30 steps to my little haven takes me to another world where I can sleep in, binge watch mindless tv or spend hours hunting for treasures on FB marketplace. You may see us if we go somewhere or to let the cat in and out, but otherwise we keep to ourselves so that you can enjoy use of the full back yard.

I absolutely love being a home sharing hostess, and I want to make sure you have an amazing stay in Waco! Our home is about seven minutes off I-35 and only 15 minutes from the Silos & 20 minutes from Baylor campus/stadium. Can accommodate 8-9 people comfortably. This is a nice neighborhood with established neighbors. Your stay will be quiet and comfortable.

Most likely, you'll need a car to get around unless you're an avid bicyclist or runner. The closest bus stop is about 1.5 miles away.
There is a good selection of fast food and a few sit-down restaurants within a couple of miles. Feel free to ask for recommendations!

This is our home, so most of our stuff is here. We ask that you don't open any locked cabinets/doors, that you only use space allocated for guests in dressers and closets and that you treat our things with respect and care. No parking on grass or in front of the mailbox. Other than that, enjoy the house to its fullest!

About the host

Hosted by Missi Cook

Host profile image
We're empty nesters with a blended family. We began homes haring seven years ago on a whim since we only used two out of four bedrooms. Also, I (Missi) have been living with a chronic, yet undiagnosed, condition for 11 years. Traveling for work was becoming too much, so I decided to try to find other ways of generating income. I'd been intrigued by the home sharing concept since my first stay in someone else's home, so I decided to give it try but not expecting to do it long term.

In the beginning, we only offered the house on weekends and holidays. We hosted our first family Thanksgiving 2014, and I was immediately hooked on being a host. Those first guests were so appreciative, and I was so appreciative of them choosing us.

In Spring 2019, we decided to open the individual bedrooms. Despite being trepidatious about sharing space with others while they were in the home, we've come to really enjoy meeting and interacting with people from all over the world. We've made a few lifelong friends, and I still get a rush of excitement when a new reservation notification comes through. I can't see myself ever going back to traditional work and am so thankful that I have been able to establish this new "career"!

Why they chose this property

The amazing gummy bears kept on the kitchen counter and really, really great mattress! As well as:

It's been our experience as guests that homes like ours, ones in which the owners live or have a personal vested interest in, are usually much more comfortable stays than homes managed by property companies or owners who amass properties solely to make money. There is nothing wrong with either as long as personal attention to detail is paid. Additionally, just about anything you'd need is here because well....all our stuff is here. So if you need butter, it's here. If you need a stamp, we probably have one. Forgot your peepers? I try to keep several magnifications around (thank you dollar twenty-five tree).

One of my passions is having a neat and tidy house, but it's really too big for my husband and me now. Unless our kids and grandkids come to visit, we usually stay in our little house in the backyard. I think a house thrives when used to its full extent, and I can feel the positive vibes left behind when guests leave. It's our hope that find this home to be comfortable and inviting.

What makes this property unique

There are sidewalks for walking, many restaurants within a couple of miles and nothing is a far drive from here. Yet the neighborhood is quiet and established.
