We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the cabin we had everything we needed the beds were comfortable the beach was fabulous the kayaks and the Canoe were so much fun!! would definitely come back and stay again
what a getaway! great views, great accommodations. My check in woman what a gem, just loved her. Saw many freighters, we had 3 bears on the back porch, an eagle in front of us over the water. Perfect perfect place!
Couldn't ask for more long private driveway is narrow but deff passable. House was super clean water right out the back deck view of big ships all day stayed here while offroading with our jeep I can't think of one bad thing to say about the place we will definitely book again if available the next time we come back.
It was ok, but could have been a little cleaner, a little out dated, the check in person was wonderful, we had a problem with tv and she came right out! The view was outstanding!!
We had a wonderful time, it was our first visit to drummond island, it was a really nice location. We enjoyed sleeping with the sliding doors open and listening to the waves. Listening to freighters coming in was pleasant as well. We saw at least 10 a day, the scene from the back deck was perfect. Thanks for hosting us.
The location is perfect for a get-a-way to relax. My husband and I are both essential workers and had worked through the quarantine. Storks Reward was exactly as represented in the listing. If you like water views, to hear water lapping up to the shore, watching freighters, this is the place for you!
Absolutely beautiful property. Home gives you a vintage vibe. Views are absolutely breathtaking from passing ships, sunsets & wildlife. We would definitely stay here again!!
We did have one complaint but host was prompt to take care of issue.
Only draw back that this listing should disclose is that driveway is long & narrow. If you are arriving with truck & trailer, you will find yourself in a jam. Back your unit down drive if you have a trailer in tow 😉

Stork's Rewards Grown Old
Location for watching freighters was great. Cabin was surface clean. However, cabin has an absentee family of owners, who have NOT keep up on maintenance. All screens and windows are dirty. Patio screens are broken out & flies come in & doors do not side easily. Washing machine does not agitate. Dishwasher soap dispenser does not open, so soap has to be out in with silverware. Yard and driveway is a mud hole if it rains, which we had 3-4 days or partial days of rain. I cleaned out & repaired vacuum cleaners. Biggest problem was that 2nd bathroom toilet will only flush with pee and no paper and "gurgles" when any water in the cabin is ran, because septic tank needs to be drained, cleared, and repaired. We were told by a friend, who lives on the island, that family group who owns it, issellong it since no one wishes to care for it or use it since 2016. Sad since a beautiful location for watching freighters and beautiful old stone fireplace.
The location was secluded, the scenery was breathtaking, the house was clean, the beds were comfortable, and we loved the old-school charm of the decor and the library of books. Our only complaint was the early check-out time of 9am. We will definitely be back!!
Staying here several days was not long enough. This place has beautiful views that can be seen from the living area, kitchen, and two bedrooms. The house was inviting but tucked away on a dead end road. Pretty fully stocked with a coffee maker and typical kitchen supplies.
We fell in love with this little gem in the woods! The lake front was beautiful! We absolutely LOVED the back deck looking over the lake! 2 of the 3 bedrooms were off that same deck, which allows you to fall asleep to the waves crashing on the rocks! We are already planning our trip for next year!!!
I don't know if we could have picked a more perfect setting for a peaceful getaway to take my parents. With the freighter views and sounds of crashing waves to put you to sleep, what more could you want? It was the perfect getaway to hit the reset button. We couldn't have been happier. We certainly will be back!
Loved this little gem of a cabin right on the lake
We thoroughly enjoyed Stork's Reward and would rent it again. I love how close it is to the water and all the glass doors so we had multiple views of the beautiful sunsets. The cabin was the perfect size for our family and had all the amenities we needed.
Welcoming and warm, the property managers reflected the experience we would have at Stork’s reward. Clean, beautifully equipped, and the location is unequivocally peaceful with stunning views. Kayaks were easy and fun! We will be back.
The photos don't do the view justice by a long shot. You have a sunset view every night, and in summer the sunsets up there last a long time. But there is also the front room with two gorgeous views into woods.
I sat on the deck and read for hours each day.
The waves are soothing.
We heard our neighbors, who were a good ways away, but two families with kids playing in the water. We saw some folks kayak by a couple of times, but otherwise, the place was 100% secluded.
Cottage was well stocked, though we had to replace the dish soap and the propane tank. The great surround sound only works with DVDs, but DVDs don't play on the TV. I must urge the owners to fix the AV situation--and a slightly larger TV wouldn't be a bad idea; although, up there one tends to be early to bed early to rise, but still, we would've watched more movies and listening to music would've been nice.
The biggest downside to the area is that playing in the water is tricky, it is a rocky shore that is slippery and hard to walk on (and water levels are very high), so even though the place is literally 15 feet from the shore line, swimming on the property is pretty much out.
The cottage is huge, easily big enough for two couples each with kids. The place is very clean, the ant problem mentioned by someone a month before we came was pretty much solved by the time we got there--which, if you've dealt with that sort of thing, isn't easy to accomplish.
I found the critique about the furniture of an earlier reviewer to be invalid. I found all furniture to be reasonably comfortable and feel that reviewer was just missing their own stuff. That said, lounge chairs for the deck would be welcome.
We love this place--not Drummond Island so much: not enough good hiking trails and the place is a bit too remote for us (we're vegetarians so the dinning out options and shopping were too limited for us, most probably wouldn't feel this way), we won't be back, the UP has better locations.
The trick with the island is to either be into atving (we're not) or plan to paddle a lot, we brought our dog and didn't find the canoe paddles until the last day--they're in the canoe but we didn't flip it all the way over at first.
Great location for watching freighters and relaxing to the sounds of the river. Amenities were very nice. Wi-fi was exceptional! We planned to use the charcoal grill but the cooking grate was rusted through, so we used the gas grill instead. We had a bit of an ant problem on the kitchen counters and dining table. The ant baits along the walls didn't seem to be effective. We found the living room furniture to be uncomfortable for any long periods of sitting. Overall, the property is fantastic and very much secluded! Would have given it five stars if not for the comfort lacking in the living room furniture and the ants. I'd consider staying at this property again.

Sheer Perfection
Thank you so very much for renting this property. Nestled in the woods on the lake shore, it is the best of both worlds. I enjoyed the lovely reading room with views of the trees and the rest of the home with views of the water. The waves lapping the shore at night was music to my ears. I loved the seclusion. Thank you again. I sincerely appreciated the space.
