We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. There was plenty of room for my whole extended family. We really liked the secluded location because my family can tend to get a little loud out at the firepit. The kids loved the hot tub and kayaks. My only regret is not being able to stay longer to enjoy all that the cabin had to offer.

Wonderful! We are happy you and your family enjoyed your time at Fairview Cove Log Home!
Had a great time on the Island, everyone was very friendly. The house and cove were lovely. We went trail riding every day, challenging but we worth the view at the end of each trail. We will definitely be back.

We are so happy you enjoyed Drummond and your stay with us!
We really enjoyed this log cabin on the water. We had 10 family members all together. We did bring along an air mattress to accommodate everyone. Happy there was plenty of space for everyone to relax and enjoy..
We had a nice, relaxing time. As is bound to happen, some things came up but they were dealt with quickly by a very friendly staff. We all loved the hot tub and especially enjoyed seeing all the stars at night.

Thank you for your understanding. We try, but sometimes there's an oops that needs to be addressed a.s.a.p.
Glad you enjoyed the hot tub and star gazing!
We had a great stay at this authentic log home. It is off the beaten path and down a private road with other cottages nearby. But you hardly realize they are there thanks to all the trees. There is a great view of DeTour Passage but you cannot see it from the cabin. You have to take a short walk down a path to the private beach. All and all a nice place to get away from everything.
Cabin setting is lovely.. the bear(s) enjoy the setting as well :)
The cabin is lovely and the setting is very secluded, which we really enjoyed! We were made aware that the bear were active in the area upon check in, and that we needed to keep our garbage indoors. We were excited about the possibility of seeing a bear. However, we did not think we would be encountering two large bears and triplet cubs... regularly! They were absolutely beautiful, but one in particular did not seem shy in the least... he seemed to enjoy wandering around the entire porch area of the cabin! Even peeking in on us through the slider :) If you are looking for intimate encounters with nature then this is the cabin for you! At least during the months of May and June.. After a few days with our bear friends, we were ready to move on to an area with a little less bear activity ;) I can not say enough about the property management staff! They were wonderful! Super helpful with some minor issues we were having at the cabin and they happily accommodated our request to be moved. Thank you for a week filled with life long memories!

Large Cozy Cabin with a Great View and Amenities.
We really enjoyed our stay in this cabin. It was large enough for a couple families to stay together and it was well appointed. We had everything we needed to cook, play games, sit out together around the camp fire and watch the stars!
While we were there we used the BBQ grill, fed the birds and watched the Jays, and sat on the front porch and swung. We cooked most of our meals at the cabin, and made a few campfires. We also used the provided kayaks, and soaked in the hot tub which was great!
Drummond Island was beautiful with a lot of great outdoor things to do . If you have ATVs and like Off-Roading I would highly recommend it as a destination. If you have a larger family this cabin will not disappoint. Even with a smaller group like we ended up having it was really nice.
The beds were not the best but this is something I have noticed about many of the rental homes we have stayed at over the years. The tile in the downstairs bathroom needs some attention, and we were not a fan of the water controls in the downstairs shower (I didn't use the upstairs bathroom). We got a few leeches getting in and out of Kayaks down by the water which is pretty normal to me for a shallow protected cove. There were also droppings outside on the deck we noticed from mice or bats.
Overall though the cabin was just what we were looking for. A good value for a family or two to stay a week at, and a wonderful vacation. I would recommend to others looking for a great family getaway!

So glad you enjoyed your time on the Island and at Fairview Cove Log Home!
The owner is working on a few improvements between rentals and the bathroom is on the hit list.
As far as the droppings go, Drummond has it's share of bats and they have been seen sitting on the rafter logs of the porch. Fortunately they are unable to get into the home. Nature sometimes has it's challenges!

Fairview Cove and Drummond Island Vacation Homes LLC. DISAPPOINTMENT
Fairview Cove Cabin was absolutely a wonderful cabin for peace and quite, rest and relaxation. Although,, the hot tub did not work. We booked this cabin because of the from all the pictures we liked this cabin and hot tub. We settled in around 5 pm ish, Saturday evening and once unpacked we found out the hot tub would not heat up, contacted the rental office first thing Sunday morning they mentioned they could not have a repair person out until first thing Monday morning because he was off the island for the day. Monday morning we stuck around the cabin until around 11:00 ish waiting for the repair person to show then left to venture around the island because why should we waste our vacation time waiting after all this was our first time on the island. I check the hot tub as soon as we returned to find no change still cool. Contacted the rental office once more to hear they have had issues with this hot tub many times prior and a repair person would not be able to come out until Wednesday. I asked then what can you do for us? The rental office mentioned they would move us to another cabin with a hot tub and better view of the water. We excepted, but with a lesson to be learned. GO CHECK OUT THE OTHER CABIN BEFORE YOU EXCEPT. The day we were moving to the other cabin the hot tub seemed to be heating over 30+ hours later. The rental manager came out and looked at and changed out the Pressure Flow Sensor. She set the temperature setting up to heat and the light reverencing heating did not light up. ANOTHER LESSON LEARNED, We should have then just stayed at the Fairview Cabin. The Cabin the rental manager moved us to was way below expectation of Fairview Cove. Needless to say we are very reluctant to rent there again. Not worth the head ache and disappointment not to say raised blood PSI after all it was suppose to be a rest and relaxation vacation.

We apologize for the inconvenience and difficulty caused by the hot tub. In the past we have had to change the heating element and pressure switch, which unfortunately do go bad from time to time. We try to correct the issues as quickly as possible and our handyman was there Monday at 11:30 just missing you. He returned mid afternoon and the tub temperature was rising. The next day, when the tub was checked, it was 99/100 degrees but still seemed to be having an issue maintaining heat. Due to the age of the tub, the homeowner has decided to replace it with a new one which is being installed this week.
Since the hot tub was a priority for your stay, we offered you the only vacant home with a tub. Yes this home is far smaller than Fairview Cove, but we hoped it would rescue the remainder of your stay, allowing you to enjoy the tub and view. We are sorry this home didn't meet your expectations.
Sincerely,
Drummond Island Vacation Homes

We are so happy you enjoy your Christmas on the Island.
Thank you!
Property was clean as advertised. Needed a some minor maintenance around deck of hot tub (rotten decking). Nice quite area with crystal clear lake huron water. Not owner fault but would have been nice NOT to have to trailer machines to "rideable" roads and trails

Thank you for bringing the decking to our attention. We will advise the homeowner.
Thank you for the review
We looked everywhere before deciding on this place. The island was the perfect getaway. Although no one was renting ATV ’s we were able to get on some ORV trails which are very well maintained. Everyone was very nice and this house is amazing. Exactly as advertised. Couldn’t see the neighbors, fully stocked kitchen and beds were comfy. Enjoyed the hot tub and even took the kayaks for a spin in the cove. Weather was amazing, nothing negative to say. It was the perfect Corona relief!

Thank you for your review.
We are glad you enjoyed the home and your adventure on the Island!
We stayed here for a long weekend and loved the privacy of this property. Beautiful views of the cove, hot tub was nice and relaxing, very quiet. We had a momma bear and her cubs get into some bird seed that was on the deck and had to bring in the cont after they had their share. We were a little nervous going outside in the early mornimg at night to walk pur dogs after that, but a cool experience nonetheless.
