A renovated 1960's Athenian house with traditional mosaic marble floor. It consists of two main bedrooms with very comfortable double beds. There is a spacious living room with a sofa bed to accommodate a fifth guest if needed. A fully equipped kitchen is also available for you.
The house is located in Filopappou area, a historical district just under the Acropolis (between Koukaki and Petralona), full of streets lined with orange and olive trees. Petralona is a neighborhood renowned for its authentic and not expensive tavernas, its cosy bars and its delightful old athenian traditional atmosphere. It is much appreciated by the intellectuals and the young people of Athens who enjoy the lively ambience of the area. Filopappou Hill is just behind the house (2 minutes) you can walk through its paths, enjoy the best Athenian view and relax around the pine and olive trees. Also great to venture to the top at sunset to admire the Acropolis view! If you cross Filopappou hill (which is an amazing walk) in ten minutes you will find yourself in the Acropolis areas where all the main sights are located.
It is an ideal location if you plan to visit the sights of Athens: ten minutes on foot from Acropolis and other major historical sites (Ancient Agora, Herodion Theater, Acropolis museum...). Walking through the streets of Petralona and Koukaki, you will have the chance to experience the athenian "gitonia" (which means neighborhood) and enjoy the interaction with friendly and relaxed people.
Right next to the house there is "Kouvelos" a traditional taverna with quality greek food, good prices and great atmosphere. Across the road you can find "Krikos" an alternative cafe which serves delicious breakfast and snacks, made from the best greek products.
Just outside the house there is a trolley bus stop, number "15", which takes you to Syntagma Square in ten minutes. The metro station Petralona is a 7-10 minutes walk from the house.
