Our host was fantastic. She is very responsive to any communication. The house was clean and fresh. Plenty of room for my family and I. This is our second time in this house and we hope to stay there again. Thanks again to a wonderful host.
Loved this place! The beds were comfortable, the house itself had everything we needed and then some. With central air, and comfortable atmosphere, and a host that was friendly and quick to communicate with me, I’d definitely stay here again.
Let’s make a list:Cigarette butts outside the front porch, in the yardLiving room ceiling light fading in and out. Broken floor tiles Spongy floor just inside the back door, near the refrigeratorArea of paint off the wall in the bedroom with three beds in it. Mismatched bed linens. We did not feel safe in the property and did not stay even one night. The owner said she could change the light bulb and that the floor was not spongy. I know what I saw and what I was walking on. Rather surprised VRBO would allow such a property to be listed.
We have stayed here before and this stay was as great as the previous one. The house is easily accessible, more than spacious for two people, and very well stocked. We heartily recommend it.
Property is conveniently located on the north end of Dunlap and was perfect for our days there. The house had all we needed for kitchen items, a nice sized bath, and a comfortable bed for sleeping. Town is 5 minutes away with restaurants, groceries at WalMart, and gas. Great location. Host was very responsive to our needs and questions.

Convenient location
Easy access to the Sequatchie Valley and Walden's Ridge. Comfortable beds and good WiFi. More traffic than years past, so good earplugs make for a good night's sleep. A few more good cooking utensils would make the kitchen complete.
The house was just right for our stay. It was clean. The owner was easy to communicate with.

Food was in the fridge and freezer from last time. Floors under beds not clean. Appliances not clean. Holes in cloths. Unusable coffee maker. No hair dryer. Rooster outside crowing. Traffic noises all night. This is not a place I will return to. Thanks

Thank you for your feedback. I wish you had reached out during your stay so I could have addressed any concerns immediately. I personally contact each guest after arrival to ensure everything is satisfactory, but I never received a reply. The coffee maker is in good working condition, and no guests before or since have reported any issues. The only items left in the refrigerator are basic condiments, which many guests appreciate having on hand. I take great pride in maintaining a clean and comfortable home, as reflected in my many positive reviews. Had I been made aware of any problems, I would have been happy to resolve them right away.
We were looking for somewhere to stay as Dunlap is a small town in TN, without a lot of options for lodging. We found this amazing place and we’re so happy we did! Brandy was an amazing host! This house was perfectly located to the cute downtown area and super easy access to the highway. The only reason for 4 stars is some updates are needed which Brandy is in the process of making (she was very receptive to our feedback) and we can’t wait to be regulars at this house on our visits!
The house was in a great location for our needs! There’s a Walmart not far away and some food options as well. The only thing that got us was that the county of the house location was in central time zone and the county of our soccer tournament was eastern time zone. Sometimes our cell phones would change over and sometimes they wouldn’t. The house was great and communication with owner was excellent!!
We really enjoyed our stay here. House heats up fast. Check in was easy. Checkout checklist was super simple as well. Kitchen had most things we needed for me to cook dinner every night, we had to run up to Walmart for a casserole dish, but we brought the left overs to Mom’s house so it worked out. I think our only complaint was that the bed is super firm… but the sheets were soft and clean. Not only was it a great value, but being in Dunlap was really convenient for us as we were borrowing a car this trip.

Lack of attention
Fresh shower curtain necessary. We purchased a new one for our stay. The shower head broke the first day and the owner never got back to us. We purchased the part and repaired the shower.
The owner needs to check the housekeeping????.
The air intake filter for the heating/cooling system had never been cleaned. (Very Dirty)
We love the little house but probably will not stay there again.
This place was by far the worst vrbo experience I have ever had!!! My son & I get to the house Wednesday at night. All the doors were unlocked after making sure there was no one inside. The owner sent code to the the door but code did not lock or unlock the door. We were worried leaving the door unlocked when we needed to head out on Thursday.
We unloaded our stuff. House was somewhat clean. I sent several messages to owner with no response. Finally decided to text her Thursday morning & she did call immediately & gave us direction in where to find key. The beds were so uncomfortable. We decided to stay only 1 night & trust me 1 night was 1 night too many.
Very nice! The rails around the porch and steps were extremely helpful and a very pleasant surprise. The communications with the VRBO website were not particularly good, however. Would stay there again.

About the host
Hosted by Brandy Tate
We (Marty and Brandy) have been married for 20 years and are still raising most of our 10 children. We learned many years ago the value of staying in a home verses a hotel while traveling. We always use Home Away (vrbo) when traveling and have for years wanted to offer something in our own hometown. When this home became available we knew it was in a good location and would be a place we would enjoy staying ourselves. We also own the Dunlap Restaurant which is just a quarter mile up the road and serve some of the best southern food around!
