River Gem on the Apple River lic#76821

River Gem is a 3 season rental cabin that was been completely renovated in 2017/2018 with all the modern amenities you need with the charm of a cabin right on the Apple River Flowage .
This well stocked, 2 bedroom, one bath cabin sits on the bank of the Apple River with it's own dock, patio area and fire pit.
River Gem has modern appliances, heat/air with all the cabin charm. There is a patio where you can grill out, eat , relax and see the loons or the bald eagles. There is a side yard to play yard games, or you can go fishing off the dock, kayaking, canoeing , or take the paddle boat out on the Apple River which are included in the rental.
In light of covid-19, we are taking extra precautions to provide a clean and safe environment for our renters. The cabin will be thoroughly cleaned and surfaces will be disinfected. All bedding, linens, blanket and towels will be washed . We are also removing decorative items from the cabin to minimize items that need to be sanitize. We are also trying to schedule rental check ins 24 hours after the last departure to provide extra time to accomplish this.
Please note the cabin can accommodate 4 registered guests only, regardless of the age of the guest.

Located just outside of Amery WI, River Gem gives you access to countless miles of ATV trails, hiking/biking trails, and all the amenities you could hope to find in a large city such as farm to table restaurant, grocery stores, ice cream shops, farmer's market and small specialty shops.

Long Fishing Weekend

This little house was perfect! Wonderful view to wake up to every morning. We fished off the dock, kayaked and more. We will DEFINITELY be back.

Great place to relax!

This home is a perfect place to unplug! We enjoyed fishing on the river in the kayaks and canoe provided by the host during the day and eating s’mores by the campfire in the evening! The cabin like home had all the amenities we needed to be comfortable and the hosts were quick to reply if we had questions.

Week with our Granddaughter

The cabin is located close to town, which is great for shopping and eating. It was larger than we expected and perfect for my husband, teenage granddaughter and I. It was wonderful to have the canoe and kayak. The downside is the weedy water, and the small step-up areas inside the cabin. The owners were quick to help with an issue we had and very easy to contact.

Perfect Fishing Cabin

We were so excited to find this on VRBO and not have to stay at one of the local hotels/motels. The location was great! House size was perfect for 4 adults. Coffee on the patio feet away from the water was gorgeous. Having a dock for our boat and not having to take the boat on/off the water daily was an absolute bonus. Neighbors were great! No complaints here!! AND we have already picked our weekend for next year!

The River Gem cabin was quaint and cozy. Beds were comfortable and our view was beautiful. Unfortunately (or not) the water pump went out, but the owners were kind enough to let us finish our vacation in the River Haven house next door. It was definitely a big upgrade for us. We only needed the upper part of the house. I would definitely stay here again. Thank you for being so accommodating Ken and Amy.

We hated coming home.

My fiend and I stayed for a four night mini-vacation; we had a wonderful time at River Gem! We appreciated the attention to detail, extra touches, and variety of amenities. There is so much to do: inside the cabin, outside, on the river (more like a lake) and in town; however, we chose to relax and soak in the beautiful scenery so we spent most of our time on the patio. The cabin itself is so cute and the abundance of windows was nice for natural light and scenic views. The owners are great hosts, very friendly and it’s obvious that the guests’ enjoyment is important to them. We loved our stay and we’re so happy we found River Gem!

Relax!

We desperately needed some time out of the city due to the pandemic and fascism. Just over an hour away we found our spot. We kayaked and saw the bald eagles. We roasted marshmallows. We say the bright bright stars. This was a true gem and exactly what we were looking for. This place has everything you need inside and out. We particularly liked the water toys. And the grill. And the fire ring. They even provided firewood!

Best vacation EVER

Beautiful setting; everything we could have needed in the cabin (which was spic and span and welcoming upon arrival) and ALL the comforts of home! Couldn't have asked for a better stay. we rarely feel reluctant to go home; but we didn't want to leave; it was that relaxing and comfortable there. Sunrises and moonrises were gorgeous and Fall colors started changing during our stay as well. God does good work and it is on full display at the River Gem!

We were in the area to watch races at two different tracks, and the cabin was located between the two. The cabin itself is maintained well, clean, and had everything you could need. We enjoyed our stay very much. The owners were easy to communicate with.

We stayed for one week and enjoyed the use of the kayaks. We went up river to the Apple River County Park (couldn't get any further) and down river to the dam in Amery. The yard games were fun and provided for some time to play in ways we normally don't make time for. That's what vacation is for, right? We ate at the outdoor table for most meals and spent time just taking in the peaceful surroundings. We did not experience mosquitos until after nightfall, so that was a welcome surprise. There was a constant breeze that kept us comfortable. Even in a 90-degree week, we only had to use the fans that are strategically placed around the cabin. Ken and Amy were great to communicate with and very responsive to all of our needs. Amy contacted me and came to the house next door and this cabin during the week to check on something. They really want this to be a good experience for their guests. The kitchen has a good amount of space to work in and store your food. It has lots of basic pots, pans, and utensils. The bedrooms are small and have hooks on the wall and a cabinet for clothes. The queen bed is comfortable. The furniture is also comfortable. As a guest, it is evident that the owners care about my stay. Thanks for providing a relaxing environment. Check out the farmer's market (Monday p.m. and Saturday a.m.), antique stores, and art galleries in Amery. Kent's bread is so good. There are lots of good places to eat in the area.

Loved our stay at River Gem!

This cabin was wonderful and is furnished with everything you could want and need! They even had little packs of cookies in a glass container for us! Communication was just great and throughout the whole process from the time we booked it, getting in the cabin and also great instructions for checkout. Beautiful view of apple river and saw some orioles too.

Wonderful Get Away

We have never seen a cabin with as much extras as River Gem provided! Amy was very welcoming and helpful. Whether you want to go out on the Apple River flowage off of your dock, play games while grilling or just sitting by a nice fire in the evening, this place has it all. The cabin has everything and more that you might need for any cooking you want to do that's not on the grill and the interior is roomy and comfortable. We had a quiet and restful three days in a early to mid-week stay. The area has numerous parks with great trails and you can catch a paddle boat tour ride in Taylor Falls, MN after visiting the oldest Wisconsin Park - Interstate, with challenging trails and great views. Lots of opportunities for activities if you love the outdoors in the area. Great fall views and colors. Any other place we might stay at in the future will be compared to River Gem. Hope to be back again sometime.

Great rental on the river

We spent 3 nights and had a great time. The cabin is perfect for two, with a great location on the Apple River. We were able to arrange a much appreciated early check-in, got settled and then got in a nice hike before dinner. The cabin is well appointed with kitchen supplies and outdoor fun. Kayaking on the river was relaxing and peaceful - saw a huge eagles nest, herons, cranes, and hundreds of ducks in the marsh area north of the cabin. Lots of great hiking at Interstate Park about 20 minutes away. We enjoyed use of the grill and fire pit. We hope to return in the future.

Peaceful and Serene
My husband and I recently stayed at River Gem for a long weekend in late August.
We enjoyed the beautiful view of the wide Apple River near Amery. The cabin was easy to find, just a block off the main highway. So convenient to everything we wanted to do or
see.
The cabin is well-equipped with everything we needed and then some, comfortable chairs and sofa in the living area, Directv with music channels, nice kitchen, and an inviting outdoor sitting area.
We spent several peaceful days here unwinding, and relaxing!! We took a boat ride into Amery on Saturday morning to the local farmers market and stocked up on fresh food and bakery items. A couple of afternoons we read books while enjoying a lovely glass of wine with the local bald eagle flying overhead.
Multiple good restaurants within 10 minutes of the cabin, LOVED Pure and Simple (delicious Sunday chicken dinner like my mother in law used to make!!)
Our hosts were friendly and accommodating, we will certainly be back for a return stay! Nancy
