The Franklin area is rich in gems and minerals and is known locally as the "Gem Capital of The World"; gem mine is located 2 miles away. Close to Nantahala Outdoor center for rafting and zip lines. Close to town but feels like you are in the Nantahala National Forest. This property was nice, quiet and clean. It's in a neighborhood but all the neighbors we passed by were friendly and waved in passing. Conveniently close to town but not too close. It was just right for our stay while visiting family. We would stay here again.
