This was the perfect home for our family of 19. Everyone had a bed to sleep in and many potties to go around. Our view of the mountains was beautiful. We had game night one of the nights and had a blast. The house was big enough for all to participate, big and small and young and old! Thank you for letting us stay in your home. Thanksgiving Tradition

We have brought our family to Cobbly Nob for Thanksgiving for close to 30 years. This year four generations were represented with my husband and I, our children some with spouses, our grandchildren some with spouses and our very first great grandchild! We were the first to stay at this location when it was built and to be back here all these years later made the visit truly fun!

Absolutely wonderful!!

We could not have asked for a better experience. The cabin was great, the view was perfect and everyone in our family has requested we go back next year. There is plenty to keep the kids entertained and adults too. We all enjoyed the game room and theater. We had a group of 25 that we cooked a large Thanksgiving dinner for and had everything we needed. Carlos and Karolina were always available if needed. They kept in contact without being overly involved. They made the whole experience extremely easy to navigate. We just may make this a yearly family event. Thanks Carlos and Karolina for a very memorable time!

Effortless and Welcoming

The entire rental process was extremely easy. There was excellent communication. We had 12 Adults and 10 Children under 9. With 5 families ot coordinate. Karolina wasa wonderful. When I got CoVid just before the trip she seamlessly switched communication to my eldest son and everything went off great. The feed back from my family was all very positive. You do have to watch for the bears though. The first night my daughter sent and adorable video ( from inside) showing a mom and 3 cubs . They apparently were on vacation as well! Thank you from the Gregory clan

Family Vacay June 2025, 23 people

Overall the location and size of the house was ideal and met all of our needs for a family with 10 children and 13 adults, ranging from 10 months to 87 years old. We especially loved the front deck area and being at the end of the road for bikes, games, frisbee, etc. The owners even graciously allowed us to bring our blowup waterslide which fit in this area. The front deck area was large enough to accommodate all of us at the same time, and the two picnic tables allowed us to have meals together. Be ready to see bears! However, we did have several issues and there were a few items that were not as described in the listing. Upon arrival, there were areas in the house that we're not clean nor did the projector work. The owners addressed it quickly, but that also meant having to contact them and having strangers in our space during our vacay. Later that week when we attempted to use the air hockey table, it kept shorting out. The owners sent a replacement but not someone to assemble it.Discrepancies in the listing:* diagram shows a twin bed with trundle in the loft. It is not there and were told instead we could use a pullout sofa in the game room. That was disappointing as my granddaughters had planned to sleep in the loft. * the couch in the main floor living room sinks badly in the middle * there is no mini refrigerator in the lowest level apartment. There is one on the game room * the child slide and rocking horse are brokenWe requested compensation, they refused.
Bear!
Great space in the front!

Perfect Break During COVID

We were a last minute rental so there were not many booking options at the time. We had 12 people between 2 families. Needed at least 4 bedrooms, wanted a hot tub, mountain views, space to allow family style dinners, and areas for kids aged 2-14 to hang out. This cabin definitely met these expectations. The first two floors were decent, but bottom two floors stunk of moisture and carpets even felt damp on the lowest level. We didn’t allow anyone to hang out there because of it. Came across left behind items, such as a diaper and bra, stuffed in places which demonstrated that the home hadn’t been thoroughly cleaned. My son’s bed was dirty between the sheets, some blinds were broken, and many light bulbs were burnt out. Overall, it was a pretty worn out home for the price, but it didn’t stop us from having a wonderful time during a pandemic. Taking in nature views, local hikes, and daily visits from bears made our stay a perfect break during COVID. I must also add that the owners were very kind, responsive and informative.

We had an incredible time staying here! The space was all age friendly with plenty to do for our toddlers and adults, alike! Some standouts:We had couples with toddlers so having the suites allowed privacy and sound buffer. The “apartment” was a great semi-private space as well. The downstairs entertainment space was very insulated from the rest of the house so our party animals could stay up late playing pool and enjoying the games while our kiddos went to bed. The top deck has a beautiful view and I imagine during winter with less leaf coverage the other floors have great views too. The decor was charming and fun. Plenty of extra pillows, linens, etc, we could have slept many more people with all the space!Love the catwalk area with kids toys. What a blessing when traveling with little ones- our cars are packed so having some toys ready for them was a big hit! Communication was excellent and the hosts were lovely. As long as you’re comfortable with a few sharp mountain road turns the drive up isn’t terrible. The only thing I’d recommend is to save the directions up- you can lose service towards the top and the turn off the coronation is a little sneaky and GPS led several guests up the wrong road and we had to turn around. But that’s no fault of the cabin, just a heads up for future guests! Highly recommend, it was a wonderful time in a beautiful place. No traffic noise, just nature, the beautiful mountains, and a lovely home to hold your loved ones!

This house was perfect for a family reunion with adults and kids. We had a great time and loved this house! The area is super cool and the neighborhood is great. The views of the house are incredible! The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed to cook all meals at the house, spacious bedrooms, no one complained about comfort of the beds, air conditioning worked well. The host was super friendly and very attentive via text message which was great! They also send over a lot of information on the house and area in advance which helped us a lot with planning and things to do in the area and clear instructions on what to expect for check in and check out. Overall highly recommend this place for a larger group trip to the smoky mountains!

Hello there,
We are Carlos and Karolina, owners of The Smoky Mountain Lodge. I am from Peru and my wife is from Switzerland. We met on a Caribbean cruise, married in Alaska, and settled in Miami Florida. Over the last 34 years, we have been blessed with 3 children, 2 Grandchildren, and the opportunity to travel, including the Peruvian Andes and the Swiss Alps. Although we love the sea where we met, we both have a special place in our hearts for our mountains and what they represent. So when we first visited the Smoky Mountains we fell in love with the area as we saw them as a memory of each other’s own culture. It was our dream to one day own a Cabin here as a gathering place for our growing family and friends, encouraging them to leave the hustle and bustle of our busy city lives behind and take a pause in our gorgeous Smoky Mountain Lodge.

Why they chose this property

Smoky Mountain Lodge is a beautiful, warm welcoming, traditional Lodge in the Smoky Mountains with spectacular views.

We simply love its spacious multi level layout, the numeous living rooms and gathering places, the facilities, the overall area, close enough to enjoy the attractions of the main towns nearby but far enough to relax and enjoy the wilderness and serene views of the Great Smoky Mountains and National Park.
We are enjoying it to the fullest with our family and friends and when not in town, we want to share the same experience with you.
We hope you enjoy the comfortable lodge, create and take home memories that will last for years to come.

What makes this property unique

It is an easy drive on the newly paved road and access from East or West US 321.

It is close enough to Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, and Sevierville but far enough to enjoy the peacefulness, lots of fresh mountain air and surrounding forest and wilderness.
It's bright rooms lighten the mood and are a perfect recipe to relax and recharge.
The back entry access to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park as well as Cades Cove, is just minutes away. There are plenty of choices for grocery shopping along the way.
