About this property

"Hale Maluhia" - Private cottage with expansive ocean views in Kailua Kona.

Enjoy our hosted private 1 bedroom, 1 1/2 bathroom cottage; beautifully detailed with a king size bed, tv with cable, wireless internet, laundry, closet, and large covered lanai.

The large lanai (covered deck) has 2 outdoor seating areas including the dining table to fit 6 people. Cool breezes in the evening make it the perfect place to enjoy an ocean view sunset.

This cottage was built next to our house for my mother to stay several times a year. The details are exquisite; from granite or Koa countertops and shelves, to antique Indonesian doors and artwork by local artists. You will experience Hawaii in its beauty!

The location on our property has gorgeous views of the sweeping valley below all the way to the ocean. It is surrounded by lush greenery and is only minutes to Kailua Kona town or historic Holualoa.

We welcome you to this peaceful place to enjoy Hawaii.

Fantastic views and close to town

A great spot that feels like you really are away from the hustle and bustle but it’s only down the road. Daniel and Esther are great hosts and we really enjoyed our stay.

Peaceful cottage with beautiful island views and sounds

This cottage is beautiful! Ideal cottage for two. Every morning, we were woken up by the sound of birds, which was really peaceful. The lack of air conditioning concerned me, but the fans inside really cool down the area, and it feels about 5 degrees cooler at the cottage than down by the water. There are no curtains on the sliding doors. It didn't bother us because we woke up before the sunrise due to our time difference (coming from Central time), but it's something to keep in mind.

Why they chose this property

This property is unique in that it feels like you are tucked away in the country, but it is right in Kailua Kona. You will probably see horse, cows, chickens, and turkeys on most days and whales from the lanai in the winter months. We love living here!

Very close to Kailua Kona village town with lots of shops, restaurants, coffee shop, and bars all along the ocean. This property is in a country setting with beautiful tree lined streets and great walking paths.
