We had a wonderful stay at this charming farmhouse! From the moment we arrived, it was clear how much thought and care had gone into every detail. The home was beautifully decorated, spotless, and incredibly welcoming, with thoughtful touches that made us feel right at home. The peaceful setting was the perfect place to relax, and everything we needed was provided. It was obvious that the hosts truly care about their guests’ experience. We couldn’t have asked for a better getaway and would happily stay here again. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a cozy, well-appointed, and memorable place to stay!
We had a great time and the house was excellent. It was a quiet location in the mountains of Western North Carolina (Franklin). The views were fantastic. We plan on returning to this location.
This is our 2nd year staying at The Farmhouse and we absolutely love everything about it! It’s comfortable, quiet, close to Franklin and day trip distance to Asheville and Gatlinburg. Margaret is great to work with and is always available for questions. We’ll definitely be back!
We loved this house! It was like a cozy haven away from our normal city life. We sat in the rockers on the front porch every evening and watched the lightning bugs and cows while the sun went down. The host was amazing and stayed on top of any questions we had. I could not recommend this house more. We will definitely stay there again.
Could not have asked for a better location. Close to everything and views were amazing. Home was decorated nicely, very clean, and well stocked. Host was amazing, very easy to communicate with and truly cared that we got the beat out of our visit. We will definitely be coming back.
My husband and I spent a week at the farmhouse. We were there for a family thanksgiving celebration It was perfect in so many ways.First, it was so peaceful!!! relaxing, beautiful Mountain View, clean, a well stocked kitchen, we had everything we needed to prepare meals. It was just the two of us and we would definitely book again.
I love this house. It's in a great location. Less than 10 minutes from downtown Franklin. Very pretty view from the front porch. We would stay here again. Also it is easy for my mother who is in her eighties to get into. It has a ramp for the side door.
Convenient location and lovely home. We loved seeing the deer in the mornings! Margaret was wonderful and gave us so much information! The kitchen was fully stocked. It was such a comfortable house for 2 couples. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and touring the whole area from Asheville to Highlands. Thank you!!
This beautiful red brick farmhouse, built in 1958, is completely furnished with a 1960's feel. Everything was clean and orderly and every convenience was provided. I've stayed in many VRBO rentals and this one was stocked with everything you could possibly need. The owner was very communicative, helpful and responsive. This is a great getaway in the NC mountains.
This was the perfect choice for our group - we're family, 56 to 63 yr old siblings and spouses. The location is a peaceful country scene - pastures and cows and songbirds, property faces the sunset - every evening started outside, soaking up the countryside and sitting around the fire. Franklin has a great grocery, so we had breakfast and dinner at the house and lunches on our travels. The house was spotless, with many touches from the host's family - it was charming, and homey, and reminiscent of the country life we grew up in - it was great!
This is a cozy 1950’s house that retains the 1950’s look and feel right down to the avocado green sectional. I felt right at home immediately. Everything was spic and span with comfortable beds and a well equipped kitchen. I was mostly able to navigate my wheelchair around without too much trouble but a wider chair won’t make it. Overall an excellent stay
First, we were welcomed with an absolutely stunning view, which is one of the reasons we booked this particular home. Another was the mid century modern design and decor, with a touch of modern upgrades. The fact that Margaret left so many personal items throughout the house made us feel as if her family was welcoming us for the holidays, giving us a cozy, peaceful feeling. Even though the kitchen is small, it afforded us plenty of space to make our Thanksgiving dinner and morning breakfast, so do not let that stop you from staying here. If you’re wondering where to stay, this is it! The amenities are top notch, close to town, easy to get to, meaning you do not need a AWD to get to it and beautiful sunrises and sunsets! Let the house speak for itself! You won’t regret it! Also to note, Margaret is a wonderful host and her attention to detail and readiness to help, if needed, was very much appreciated!
My mother, my sister and I went down to antique in the area and just wanted a "home base". This home was perfect for us. Margaret was very easy to communicate with. The house was immaculately clean. We stayed in the little den most of the time we were there and the views were just outstanding. We ate at Ms. Lois and it was good but if you have time to go down into Dillard, GA, The Cupboard cafe was amazing. (Be sure to try
their biscuits.) I have saved this property, so if we ever venture that way again...we have found a home away from home. Thank you, Margaret, for sharing your property with us "little ol' ladies."
The Farmhouse was exactly as described. Ms. Margaret took great care to make sure our arrival was seamless. The home-like atmosphere was both spacious and comfortable, and the kitchen was well stocked for the cooking we did. The fire pit was really nice on the cool nights and the grill worked great! It was very special knowing this was the house she grew up in, and when admiring the view from the front windows, you couldn’t help but imagine what her childhood must have been like on the farm. The Farmhouse is also within 35 miles or less of many towns making day trips enjoyable. There are plenty of great restaurants in Franklin, which are included in the “Welcome” binder on the coffee table (add Lucio’s, Haywood’s Barbque and The Kountry Kitchen to the list). We will definitely be back next season.
The farmhouse in Franklin was a lovely retreat into another era. The house is nicely decorated in 60's retro furniture just like grandma had! The is a gorgeous view outside your living room window of the pasture across the street complete with cows. The driveway has ample parking. There is a carport so if you bring up a motorcycle and trailer it will keep both out of the elements. Nice rocking chairs on the front porch allow you to enjoy the western sunsets without going further than the porch. The little Tennessee river is about 7 mins away so if you need to cool off there is a small beach there. The host was very helpful to any issues that arose and gave you a book explaining all the working of the TV and direct TV nicely. All in all we enjoyed our stay and would return again if we were ever in the Franklin area.
Our stay was absolutely perfect!! The home is exactly as it is advertised - clean, comfortable, accommodating and beautiful. My mother is pretty picky but she was very pleased with the property - she was very comfortable. Margaret, the homeowner, is so sweet and I appreciated that she wanted to touch base before we arrived at the home. Our entire trip was wonderful from beginning to end and being able to stay in a very lovely home not far from my daughter was a blessing. The fantastic weather allowed us to watch a beautiful sunset each evening from the house. We have plans to return to this specific home on our future visits to NC. It was a wonderful time!!
We go to NC every summer. This has been one of our most enjoyable views and stays. The house is great and spacious and there is a farm across the way with friendly donkeys. The house is conveniently located near the downtown. We WILL stay here again next year (if we can!). We loved it.
The house is in the country and located about 10 minutes from downtown Franklin. There is a nice scenic view of a pasture and farm animals across the street. The house is roomy and has a nice big window in the living room overlooking the pasture. I would definitely stay again on a future vacation if its available.
My family enjoyed staying at this farmhouse. It has a large yard that my children loved to run and play on. The panoramic view is amazing especially during sunrise and sunset.

About the host

I grew up in this lovely Farmhouse as the only child of wonderful parents. I love the peacefulness that you feel being in this beautiful space overlooking the rolling hills. I love so many great people in Franklin and all the fun activities in Franklin and nearby towns. Lots of love! Now, as I find myself being the owner of this wonderful place, I have chosen to share with vacationers! I hope you will love being in the Farmhouse as much as I do!
Why they chose this property
My parents built this house in 1958. I always felt blessed to live in the house. There is something about the openness. To me the house felt humble yet beautiful; not at all extravagant yet timeless. Maybe its the way that my Daddy situated the position of the house on the property to see the sunset as well as his cattle. Maybe its the memory of my Mama's cakes and her saying she didn't really need a dishwasher... At this point in my life, I want to share my "good memory" house with others. I hope the house will be a vessel for more happy family memories - both mine and yours.
