5-bedroom cabin just 27 minutes from Yellowstone National Park
Enjoy a fun family cabin near the West entrance to Yellowstone National Part and the fun town of West Yellowstone. Perfect for family reunions or a fun get away with family and friends. The cabin is on a wooded acre of land for fun outside play.
The cabin has four bedrooms, each with a queen or double bed. The fifth bedroom is a large loft with five single beds and a double bed. We have found that kids love to stay together in the loft and can be heard giggling and talking for hours. We have a pack-and-play and a highchair in case you are traveling with an infant.
If you plan on cooking at the cabin, the kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans, cooking utensils, eating utensils and place settings for 14. There are small appliances for you to use including, crock pots (large and small), hand mixer, blender, griddle, coffee maker and toaster in addition to a propane grill on the front deck. The cupboards have basic cooking supplies such as sugar, flour, salt baking soda and a variety of spices.
There is a game closet filled with games, puzzles, movies and children's toys in case of inclement weather or if you chose to spend a day around the cabin. The washer and Dryer are there for your use and detergent is provided along with an ironing board and iron.
You will have the entire cabin to yourselves when you book this property including the fun outdoor amenities. The fire pit is available for your use. Firewood is not provided but can be purchased locally. There is a picnic area with outdoor seating including a porch swing.
There are many squirrels and chipmunks at the cabin who love to eat peanuts. We will leave you a jar of peanuts in shells you can put along the top railing of the front porch. It is fun to watch them through the big windows as they enjoy a tasty treat. There are also birds of many varieties in Island Park. We have bird feeders hanging in the trees in front of the cabin. There are bird books to use as a reference so you can identify the different species that you see. We have occasionally seen fox, deer, antelope, Elk, and occasionally moose wander by.
The cabin is in a wonderful location. The trout fishing on Henry's Lake is some of the best in the world. Twenty miles to the North is the West entrance to Yellowstone National Park and the fun town of West Yellowstone, where you can enjoy the Yellowstone Museum, IMAX theater, tons of souvenir shopping, and even take in a show at the Play-Mill Theater. Just 10 miles to the South is Mack's Inn, where you can float the river or go to Big Springs, where you can see the springs at the head of the Snake River and view huge trout in crystal clear water. If you choose to eat out, there are many good restaurants in both Island Park and West Yellowstone.
There is no public transportation in the Island Park/West Yellowstone area. Personal vehicles are the best way to get around. Many people enjoy boating, 4-wheeling, hiking trails, and even biking through the national parks. There are many rental shops in the area where you can rent everything from canoes and boats to ATV's and bikes.

Trish was a wonderful host! She was very response and gave excellent directions to the cabin. The cabin was very clean and had everything we needed to cook and grill during our stay. It was the perfect retreat after our adventures at Yellowstone. Will definitely book this cabin again!
11 of us stayed at the cabin, grandparents, kids, and teen grandkids. We all enjoyed the fire pit, horse shoes, and the big kitchen table. We traveled 2 days into Yellowstone and 1 day site seeing around Island park.
We loved this place! Enjoyed our stay and the beautiful scenery getting there. We appreciated the extra device charging cords and the instructions for everything. Thank you!
The property is just as described. Was perfect for our family of five adults. We stayed a week and were able to accomplish our goal of visiting Yellowstone, Grand Tetons, Jackson Hole and all parts in between. The property is well-equipped, clean, and roomy. We enjoyed our stay!
The property was set up so well! Outdoor games, fire pit, games and blankets inside, and a well organized binder to answer any questions you might have. Trish was friendly and informative- a great host! It is a beautiful location. The kids loved exploring the property. And it was a great home base for our week in Yellowstone! Highly recommend!
The cabin was perfect for our group of 9! The owners were so accommodating. The cabin had everything we needed plus some. The backyard was very peaceful. A quick 20 minute drive to West Yellowstone. It’s the perfect distance for feeling like you are secluded in the woods, but also not too far from restaurants, shops, and other activities. Would highly recommend!!
The rooms were very small except for the loft. Mattresses all need replacing or upgraded for comfort. The house needs updating completely. Checkin and checkout was very easy, which was so helpful! And the location is amazing! The hosts were awesome to work with and very accommodating with every request. Couldn’t find nicer people to work with!
We’ve been coming to Island Park for years and knew we wanted to have our family reunion there this year. What a great decision! This cabin was absolutely perfect for our family of nine adults and two small children. It had plenty of space, was a charming setting, was very clean and the hosts were excellent communicators. Whether we were out enjoying the abundant opportunities to see some amazing outdoor experiences, or just enjoying being together in the beautiful cabin, it was just an ideal setting for us. We enjoyed building a fire every night we were there (and making s’mores - yum!) in the beautiful backyard and very safe fire pit
Nice place, 30-minutes from West Yellowstone NP entrance.
My grandchildren loved this cabin in the woods!
I wish it’d been 15-20 min. closer to the West Yellowstone entrance. It took nearly 25-30 min. driving time to get to the entrance to the Park.
Rode from Michigan on motorcycles with friends and needed a home base near Yellowstone. LOVED it! Great cabin for our group. Plenty of rooms and beds. We enjoyed making breakfasts and suppers in the fully stocked kitchen! Felt very relaxed after our long rides on the couches and recliners. It’ll probably be awhile til we’re out that way again but this cabin will be our first call!
The property was perfect for everything we needed. About 20 minutes to west Yellowstone, 2.5 hours to the Grand Tetons, and near the Gallatin National Forest, the Madison River, and the beautiful Henry’s Lake. We had a large group (10 adults 4 children) and never felt cramped or over crowded. The first three days a momma moose and her calf frequented the back yard and we named her “Betty”! Saw squirrels and foxes and birds all from the back yard. Area cows grazed and provided some fishing right on the Henry’s Lake outlet. Caught a nice sucker fish! Would definitely recommend. The owners were super communicative and friendly, the cabin was clean and comfortable, and we had an absolute blast. Thank you Trish and Kevin!
This was my 4th visit to Yellowstone, but my 1st time staying in a cabin vs hotel room. This was soooo much better. Loved being in the woods, and seeing deer, and birds and squirrels. Comforts of home and space for everyone to chill. Comfortable furniture and a well stocked kitchen made it easy to relax. I'm a fan!
We had a wonderful time! Very first family vacation with all my grown children their spises and my fabulous grandchikdren. The cabin was well stocked, we even had a welcome badket with treats. Everything was great. We encountered no problems at all. Communication was open. I feel bad I never really thanked them. We had hoped to see some more wildlife come through but all in all a great experience. We did feed the chipmunks and squirrels and they were fun to watch. I highly recommed this property for families. Lots of room to spread out and enjoy. We had 6 adults and 5 under 15. It worked out beautifully.
Great location to Yellowstone! Cabin in the woods is peaceful. Floors were a little squeaky for the 2 downstairs bedrooms but we were so tired it didn’t really bother us!! Would stay again 😁
That’s what my daughter called, though the property is not directly on the lake. We still had a fabulous time. We enjoyed the squirrels, chipmunks, birds and deer that came into the back yard! Don’t rent this property if you are looking for modern or fancy, but if you are looking for a well kept old cabin in the woods with lots of space this is the property! We would definitely rent this property again. The host were kind and responded quickly. We loved everything about this property. We even saw moose at the beginning of the road one night.
Great place to stay and everything in the cabin was well stocked. There were plenty of towels and the kitchen had everything to cook with.
It is tucked away in the woods but there are quite a few neighbors close by but everyone was friendly. The river/lake is right across the street but all the docs are private and not accessible. Overall we had a great family vacation! Thanks
This cabin had all we needed and more, they thought of everything. It is well maintained, clean and in a pretty setting in the trees. It truly was the ideal cabin rental! Located close to West Yellowstone, we used the cabin as a home base and it was perfect. Feeding the squirrels was a blast for the kiddos. Ample games/puzzles were also a lot of fun. Beds are comfortable, kitchen fully functional and all around a comfortable place.
The house is great! I would say even better than the pictures. There was plenty of space for our group of two families (11 total). The location makes for some long days if you are planning to visit Yellowstone. Overall the stay was great!
An older property with a rustic, family feel. The hosts were tremendously gracious and helpful. You can easily hit W. Yellowstone, Island Park, Big Sky, Cliff Lake via your car. The Henry's Fork river can be reached on foot. Quick note, light sleepers should sleep upstairs...the floors are creaky :)

I have been a RN for 35 years (Yikes! I'm old). I have worked mostly in Labor and Delivery. I am currently a clinical educator For Maternal Fetal Services. I have been married to my wonderful husband Kevin for 35 year! (I guess we are both old!). We have four children who are all grown and left us empty nesters!
Why they chose this property
My father built the Cabin in 1963! In the mid 70's he added an addition to the A-frame making it a modified A style. Although it is older than I am, it has remained in our family all these years and has been very loved and well cared for. My husband and I took over ownership after both my parents passed. Little by little we have updated and made improvements. The cabin recently got a new roof, new carpet, new mattresses, living room furniture and new kitchen equipment. The kitchen table is quite unique. My father built it in our garage out of 2X4's standing on end and then sanded down the rounded edges. It's super heavy and has remained in great shape along with having great personal meaning. We hope you love the cabin as much as we do!
