House was beautiful, access to the beach was great, and the views were amazing. Owners were communicative and super helpful throughout the whole process!
The location was perfect. My family and I enjoyed ringing in a wonderful New Year. Our only issue was when the smoke detector batteries were low and chirped one night. Once reset, everything was fine.
We were three siblings and their spouses for a few nights mid October. The property was exactly as described, very clean, and very comfortable. We got to enjoy beautiful sunrises and moonrises right from the porch! Thank you for making your home available to us!
This place is all it is advertised to be! A clean and well appointed first floor, with fabulously communicative hosts! The access to the beach cannot be beat and the nearby ice cream shop made for a nice evening event! We had to cut our stay short due to rain and flooding forecasted, and the owners were very sympathetic and caring about our safety. We would certainly return and hope for better weather next time!
Beautiful views. We appreciated the ocean view and pet friendly set up. Quiet end of town, helpful communication with owner and house met all of our needs. We hope to be back!
Couldn’t have had a better stay! With two young kids, proximity to the beach made all the difference. House was clean and comfortable - exactly as promised and communication with the owners was a breeze. Hope to return in the future!

We took our college grandchildren for RR before they started their summer jobs. Even though it rained it was a wonderful place to relax in and watch the ocean. Thank you
this beach house was perfect for our family. At the southern end of the island, right across from the beach. Location was quiet and residential. House was clean and well maintained.
Our stay was amazing. The property was clean and comfortable. The view and the sound of the waves was very calming . We had one issue with the air not working and for my wife in her 50s , thatsca big deal...., but once i reached out, the owner stayed on the phone with me until the issue was resolved (it was just the circuitbreaker) . He then called back an hr later to ensure that the house cooled off.. if your looking for a great place to stay, you cant go wrong here
This is a perfect spot in off season for peaceful quiet with views of ocean and dunes. I imagine it is also perfect in height of summer too since it is right across from ocean and a few blocks from the 55th St. food, market and ice cream shops. I had a wonderful November week and hope to be back again. The hosts communications were excellent for info in advance of trip as well as kind and friendly.
I had a great stay last year and returned this spring to this wonderful place in south end of OC one block from Corson’s Inlet. The owners a very friendly with great communication and the house is clean with new furniture and has ocean views. It is a prime location and very peaceful in off season. I will be back again soon!
We had 6 adults and 3 children in for a week. Enough room for everyone to spread out and not feel on top of each other. Beach access was everything with this house. Quick jump across the street. Met the owner on day one and was very friendly and was super accommodating. Looking forward to booking again in the future.
This home was neat and tidy. Had the basics of what we needed. We had a pleasant stay. The only thing we missed was a useable outdoor shower. Also a few a few porch furniture pieces were in disrepair. Overall, a great location, a comfortable setting and really nice owners.

Thank you for your feedback. Porch furniture will be replaced. There are open air out door showers for use with new shower heads. We will look into the logistics of creating a covered outdoor shower. We appreciate the opportunity to have you as our guests.
Great location, just steps from the beach. Awesome sunrises! The unit was clean, the beds and furniture were comfortable, the updated kitchen was well-equipped for simple meals (could use new measuring cups) and the updated bathrooms were wonderful. The decor was simple and uncluttered. We'll be back next year!

The lock box is difficult to use. Could use a few things for future guest. A few potholders and recycling container would be helpful.

Great location, overpriced for quality of unit
We had a great week regardless, and this is one of our favorite parts of the island. In terms of the unit, there was quite a bit more wear & tear than we would have expected based on the listing. It was missing a few (maybe small to some people) things that made a difference - the kitchen isn't very well equipped cook meals in, no shower curtain liner, no trash cans in the bathrooms, no mattress pads, the storage closet to keep beach supplies was a mess. Those things added up with overall maintenance issues that didn't meet my expectations for the high cost of the listing.

Thank you for your feedback. We take your review very seriously and all of the deficiencies will be addressed and rectified. There should be no structural wear and tear as the house has been fully updated within the past few years. Bathrooms are new for 2022 season.
Most of the items that you listed in your review reflect use dependent wear and tear and easily correctable. Over the past few years, most guests have found the kitchen to be adequate and they have not had an issue with cooking. As per your suggestion, kitchen cookware has already been updated and new items have been added midseason. Unfortunately, we become aware of such deficiencies through our guests and we thank you for your feedback. We do want to mention and recognize that during your stay we had offered to reimburse you for any special cookware or products that you may consider necessary to purchase. Given individual preferences, it is sometimes difficult to predict specific needs.
King and Queen bed mattresses continue to have the mattress pads, and this has been confirmed. Twin beds in one bedroom had missing mattress pads and they will be refitted. Recently renovated master bathroom shower has a custom glass door and does not need a shower curtain/liner. Second full bathroom has a new shower curtain for 2022 season. Curtain liner has been added as per your recommendation. We have confirmed bathrooms have trash cans.
Storage unit access is from the outside through the car port located below the house. It gets great deal of guest traffic (beach ware, bicycles, toys and other items) during the busy summer season. It is also exposed to ocean front weather and other natural elements. Unit is maintained and well kept. Storage unit is not considered living space. Any mess in the storage unit outside usually reflects immediate past use.
We thank you for your review. Fortunately, most if not all of your suggestions are easily addressable and are likely use-dependent wear and tear during busy summer season. They do not reflect a permanent deficiency. We take great pride in ensuring that our guests have a relaxing and comfortable vacation, and we are happy to hear that you had a great week!!!!!

UPDATE
8/20/22: We personally inspected the rental property. It is our feeling that this review is overzealous in its representation of the facts.
1. There were only 2 twin beds in the kids' room (out of total 10 beds), where mattress pads were missing. They probably got removed in error by previous guests who were removing the bedsheets. They have been replaced.
2. All bathrooms had trash cans.
3. Hallway bathroom has a beautiful new shower curtain that also served as a curtain liner. Either way, a new curtain liner has been added. It is a good recommendation. It should help us keep the bathroom floor dry.
4. Kitchen continues to be well equipped. Any dishes, pans or pots that were showing wear and tear have all been replaced with new kitchen items. Additional items have been added.
6. Storage unit is not considered livable space and is outside the house.
6. Finally, up to 20% of the cost represented fees and taxes placed by VRBO and the State of New Jersey. We have no control over these charges. If cost was an issue and guest made us aware of their concern, maybe we could have helped them find alternatives.
We take pride in maintaining and servicing this property. This is the only unit we rent and also use it for personal use intermittently. We want to thank our guests for giving us an opportunity to become a part of their summer vacation memories. We will continue to try to upkeep the unit and do our best to make our guest's stay comfortable.
