About this property
Lake Muskoka Cottage with Sandy Beach
STRA-TML-25-0013
Welcome to the perfect and affordable small family vacation getaway on ever popular Lake Muskoka! This 800 sq. ft., 3 bedroom cottage is cute and as clean as a whistle with all the comfort conveniences of home.
The cozy living room has beautiful lake views and a gas fireplace for cooler evenings and a ceiling fan to make for more comfortable nights on humid summer evenings. The well-equipped kitchen has lake views as well making it enjoyable while prepping and making meals. Although there are seating areas inside for snacking or dining, the place of choice on beautiful summer days will be the deck overlooking the expansive lawn and lake. The cottage is equipped with a whole house water filtration system! Offering clean water for you to enjoy on the hot summer days! The hot water tank is 15 gallons which is normally good for about two showers, then may require 20 - 30 minutes to replenish.
The front or back lawn are great for the kids to play catch or throw a frisbee and the 25 feet of hard packed sand at the waterfront is ideal for young and old alike to safely splash and play. There are rocks marked by a green buoy in front of the property that can easily be swam out to and explored with a snorkel. You can stand on these rocks and the water will come up to your hips. With the property facing south enjoy plenty of sunshine from late morning to sunset.
The property is located in one of the most sought after parts of Lake Muskoka, directly between the towns of Port Carling and Bala. St. Anne’s Catholic Church is a heritage building only two properties away where there is also a municipal dock, an excellent place to view sunsets! Boat parking is provided overnight at the adjacent boat house, with daytime parking available at the municipal dock, or right on your beach!
The country road in front of the cottage is great for scenic afternoon walks or runs and for nature lovers keep your eye out for deer and blue herons, commonly sited weekly. Finally, for avid boaters, you can tour “The Big Three” (Lake Muskoka, Lake Joseph and Lake Rosseau). With it's central location, you can easily access Bala, Port Carling, Bracebridge, or Gravenhurst by lake!
The lake also hosts frequent fishing derbies so needless to say keen fishermen won’t be disappointed. The rich cottage history of vacationing on this famous lake is sure to please the whole family!

Hi Maureen, thank you for staying at our cottage this past week. I appreciate your disappointment with the water being a bit higher as a result of the rain. Unfortunately this was beyond our control and I do hope the accommodations were to your satisfaction, as we always strive to provide the best experience to our guests.
Thank you,
Steve and family
Lovely cottage and property with water view…enjoy afternoon sun on the dock or paddle and swim in the clear sandy water. Ideal for kids..Spacious and clean, big beds, close to Bala for shops and Cranberry Festival. Will return again!
We had a great time staying here! The property was just as pictured and beautiful. Steve was great and super helpful. We even saw 3 deer on the adjacent property one evening. We really enjoyed our stay!
Thank you Alan, I am sorry the weather didn't cooperate for you during your stay. Hoping you get a few more sunny days during your next stay at our cottage in July. Thanks, Steve, Rachel, and family.
My friend and I had the most relaxing and peaceful time at this gem of a cottage. Had everything we needed to have a quiet down time away from our family!
We had lots of fun. Place was clean and had a well stocked kitchen with proper utensils (much appreciated). Saw some wildlife which the kids loved. This place made for an enjoyable getaway.
Amazing view. Host gave excellent info on check in and out. Also provided instructions on heat, fireplace and kitchen stove. Sharon, next door contact person, was very helpful and friendly.
We had a 3 night mini vacation, enjoyed it very much. Love all the amenities included-it was nice not to have to bring sheets, towels, bottled water etc. There's even a Keurig for that much needed coffee! The view is amazing, and the road is fairly quiet for my walks. Would definitely stay here again!!
We had such an amazing time at Steve's cottage. The cottage was well appointed, full kitchen, clean and warm bedding, fluffy towels. The views of the lake were amazing. The neighbourhood and surrounding forest were fantastic for after dinner walks. Visiting during the winter, we had the great fortune to experience the beautiful Muskoka woods, snow dusted pine trees, straight out of a storybook. We will definitely recommend this cottage to friends and family! Thank you for such a wonderful family holiday!

Place was clean, well equipped with lots of room. Clean water, heat and more. Owner was always available if we had any questions. Neighbour was nice and helpful too.
Everything is located nearby within minutes like gas and groceries. We even made an Amazon online order and it was delivered to the cottage with no issues.
Fishing wasn’t the best, but others validated that the year wasn’t the greatest.
If you need to get away from it all. It’s fairly quiet.
Note that there are a lot of rules for the area. All are conveniently listed in a book at the cottage along with info on the area and things to do.
If you’re going to the area for fishing you may or may not get skunked. If you’re getting away from it all with family or on a work trip this would be up anyone’s alley.
Clean cottage. Bathroom needs upgrading. There was a portable air conditioning unit which placed some water in the hallway. Shoreline pictures showed a nice large dock, however it was not part of the property listing. That is very misleading.

Hi Quinn, we appreciate your feedback and thank you for staying. I apologize if the pictures were misleading, however, we did review them and they appear accurate and clearly show the beach, sitting area, and shoreline. We also did inform you prior to your stay that the bathroom is dated, but everything works fine - this is reflected in our pricing and we are the best priced 3 bedroom cottage on Lake Muskoka which we are very proud of. We will make sure to add more pictures this weekend so that future guests may not have the same experience as you did. Thank you.
Stayed August 2025 with family of four. We found other reviews to be largely accurate. Cottage was clean, comfy, well stocked (except we never did find an ice cream scoop lol). BBQ worked, lots of activities indoors and outside, good sitting areas, great location albeit on a busy lake. It's a stretch to say it has AC. There's a portable unit in the back hall with maybe a five/six foot hose. It didn't reach let alone cool the south-facing main area. It's probably fine most times of year but something to consider if you happen to be there during a heat dome like we were.Only other quibble is that we had to drive our garbage/recycling to "transfer station" on our last day per guest book. I don't recall seeing that in the ad. Suggest a lockable bin/shed on site for property manager to deal with instead of guests.Steve was a good host. Friendly, responsive and communicative. Check in instructions were clear, no issues with lockbox. Him and the neighbour Sharon gave helpful suggestions for activities in the area which was a nice touch.Waterski show and Splash Island in Bala were highlights. There's also a quaint RC church next door with its own dock. Good beginner spot for rock bass (prayers for something bigger as yet unanswered). Our family had a great time overall and we would expect yours to as well.
Beautiful scenery from the front deck and from the fire pit. Perfect cottage with everything you need for your stay. Loads of little towns to roam around. Would definitely love to go back. Thank you for your great hospitality. 😁
This property is great. We had a wonderful stay while visiting the various festival events. The cottage was a perfect base to work from. It has all the necessary amenities for eating, sleeping and relaxing after a busy day. We wholeheartedly recommend this property.

Hi John, thank you for your kind words and sharing your experience. It was an absolute pleasure having you stay and thank you for taking such great care of our cottage.
Our 5 day stay at this cottage was amazing! Communication with the owner was great, even when the internet went down for a day due to lightning - we were kept up to date. The water was clear and great for swimming! And the kitchen was fully stocked. All in all, a memorable vacation. Would book again!
My family and I had an amazing time! We loved the cottage and went swimming everyday. The private beach and swim up dock was a hit! We hope to come back again next summer! Communication was great with Stephen, he answered any questions we had and was accommodating!
We stayed at this location from August 7-14/21 and had a wonderful time. Steve was very accommodating and answered all of our questions promptly. Check in was easy and his cottage manual was very helpful. The cottage was clean and well equipped. We created some nice memories here and highly recommend this cottage. Thanks again Steve.

Hi Margaret, it was a pleasure having you stay and would love to have you back. I will review our listing to make sure we include the WiFi password once the reservation is complete and that we have both a Keurig and 10-cup coffe maker. All our best, Steve, Rachel and family.
We had such a great time during our stay here. The kids had such a blast fishing, swimming and just enjoying nature!! What a view!!! Steve was a great help during the booking and check in process. The road was a bit busy while we were there but the wonderful neighbour did warn us and it actually didn't bother us at all! Loved our stay! 🙂
