On the water with deepwater dock for your boat - this location cannot be beat. This cottage is located on Southport Island, a short five-minute drive from the hustle and bustle of Boothbay Harbor. It is perched on the edge of Townsend Gut with water views from every room. You could easily spend the entire day watching the swing bridge open and close for the boats traveling past. Robinson’s Wharf (the island’s most popular restaurant) is a short walk away. The cottage underwent a full renovation in early 2018 and is ready for visitors!
The cottage has an open floor plan with the kitchen opening into the living room. The large bedroom has 1 queen bed and an attached bathroom. This quaint
cottage has all you need for a quiet vacation on the water.
The property is stunning with new professional landscaping and ample space for lawn games or lounging under the large trees while watching the tides rise and fall. There is a dock right on property for those who wish to bring their boat. On those busy summer days you'll hear the noise of the cars crossing the swing bridge.
Southport Island is only a 5 minute drive from downtown Boothbay Harbor – just over the Townsend Gut Swing Bridge. Southport Island is close enough to Boothbay but also has its own restaurants and sites to see. Robinson’s Wharf, Cozy's Dockside and Newagen Inn are highly recommended restaurants on the island. Hendricks Head Beach is located on the west side of the island. Sailing, boating and kayaking are spectacular activities in and around the island. If you want to venture off the island, the Boothbay Harbor Region has extensive nature trails, lake swimming (Knicker Bocker Lake), golfing, an aquarium and one of the best Botanical Gardens in the country.

*** SUMMER of '24: The state of Maine is renovating the Historic Southport Swing Bridge that is viewed from the cottage. We have been in close contact with the contractors as we know this will impact our renters. They will be using hand power tools and there will be equipment noise during work hours. The bridge will be available for the usual summer boat traffic, meaning it will swing as needed to allow for boats to pass. The bridge will be down to one lane of car traffic. The construction is due to be complete in May of '25.
