Host profile image
I live in Statesville, North Carolina, and work as an Airbnb host in Star, North Carolina alongside my husband, while also serving as a cohost in Maine with my dad, Bill Duncan. Owning a home in Maine has always been a shared dream for both of my parents, who have been visiting the coast for decades. That dream became reality in 2017 with the purchase of an oceanfront property in East Boothbay and a later purchase in Southport, Maine. Today, I help my dad manage the online bookings and guest communications for their two properties, blending family, hospitality, and a love for Maine’s shoreline into the work we do together.

Why they chose this property

After establishing their oceanfront home in East Boothbay, Maine, my parents continued to deepen their connection to the Maine coast with the purchase of a second home in Southport, Maine. What began as a single dream property eventually grew into something larger—a lifestyle rooted in the rhythm of the ocean and the familiarity of the Midcoast. The Southport home added a new dimension to their time in Maine, offering another perspective of the shoreline while still preserving the privacy, quiet, and natural beauty they originally fell in love with. Together, the two properties reflect not just investment in real estate, but a long-standing appreciation for Maine’s coastal way of life.

What makes this property unique

A tiny house in Southport, Maine offers travelers a uniquely intimate coastal experience defined by simplicity, privacy, and connection to nature. Unlike larger rentals, it encourages a slower pace, where the focus shifts from space to setting—morning coffee with ocean air, quiet evenings, and easy access to nearby harbors, coves, and lighthouses. Nestled in a peaceful island community, the tiny house enhances Southport’s natural seclusion, giving guests a cozy, thoughtfully designed retreat that feels both tucked away and deeply connected to Maine’s coastal landscape.
