Three of us gals came from only an hour away for a “Cozy Cottage” getaway. This space was spectacular for our needs. Charming decor, cottage style and beautiful views. We experienced woodsy quiet to read and study. 82 acres of space and over two miles of walkable trails. We got to enjoy sharing outside space with goats, a couple of dogs, and a cat.
We booked this cabin as a weekend getaway with friends, and were blown away by how wonderful everything was. The cabin is so charming and comfortable, the animals were fantastic, the hiking trails were gorgeous, the lookout view was stunning, Linda and Frank were so lovely, easy, and welcoming, and the warm homemade breakfast????? Wow.It was the perfect escape, I can’t say enough.we will definitely be back!
Thank you for sharing your beautiful Driftless farm with us. We had everything we needed. The cottage is beautiful and all of the antique touches make it cozy and interesting. We loved our new friends Honey and Hannah
The house and surroundings have everything you could want for a family trip to the countryside. Multiple areas indoors and out for hanging out and relaxing, full kitchen, woods, fields, ravines, friendly farm animals, and warm baked goods in the mornings.
Our stay was wonderful. The cottage was perfect. I did not realize that the cottage did not have a television!! This made our stay even better!! We knocked out three jigsaw puzzles and have great family conversations
Linda and Frank are wonderful hosts !! My daughter loved the animals and exploring the farm.
This is a very quiet and well maintained older cottage in a pretty setting. Night-time is so quiet. Walking up the hill to view the stars was wonderful. There is almost no light pollution. The homemade bread was awesome, practically to die for.
Trillium was the perfect spot for our group to stay and attend the snowflake ski umping festival in Westby. The home was very quaint and reminded us of an English cottage. All the animals were friendly and enjoyable to watch. The observation deck in the field was a hit with my son and his girlfriend. They even saw a shooting star! The morning baked goods and eggs were such a special touch. We hope to make this a yearly visit for the ski festival.
We loved the ability to not only reconnect with nature but the interactions and visits we had from sheep to Hannah (the dog) and Honey the (cat). Sunsets and the moon rising from the platform in the upper field will be memories we will cherish. Interactions with the hosts and the breakfasts delivered every morning were excellent. The only negative comment we had was the cabin could use a good deep cleaning especially in the kitchen. We hope to return soon.
Thank-You,
The Koebel family.
This was a beautiful winter getaway! Linda and Frank were wonderful hosts. The animals around the property were friendly and sweet. The fireplace was amazing and created a warm and cozy space. Our boys loved sledding and skating on the small pond. Hannah, the dog, led us on a winter walk along a trail. The fresh eggs and baked goods each morning were wonderful. We are definitely going back.
Loved the farm animals - donkey, chickens/roosters, pig, sheep (but felt bad about the cat sitting outside the front and back door looking through the window wanting to get inside).
The breakfast items were delicious - bread, muffins, scones, eggs.
Not sure if the main bed was a queen or full - it was a bit firm for me.
We made a fire every night in the indoor fireplace and there was plenty of wood - and the ability to get more if needed (with no charge).
Frank was very helpful with information about the area.
This is the third stay we have enjoyed at this Vrbo cottage nestled in the farmlands of the Driftless region of southeast Wisconsin. This rental is quiet and cozy. No TV gave everyone a chance to talk, play games, enjoy a fires in the large stone fireplace and enjoy meals together at the large kitchen table. There are animals that make their home here on the fame so expect a visit from a friendly cat or dog on the front or back porch. Go and visit the goats, chickens and donkeys too. The breakfast alone is worth the stay. Just rent this one and be so happily surprised with everything.
We will be back as it’s now become tradition.
Wonderful accommodations in the heart of small stream trout fishing country. It was a men’s trip at a home that subsequently made our wives jealous. Spacious and well appointed throughout but we especially enjoyed relaxing on the deck until well after sunset. Could have been the friendliness of their pets or perhaps the fresh bakery and eggs Frank and Linda brought over for breakfast that made us feel more like new neighbors than guests. We highly recommend this property and will definitely be back!
Staying at the Hill House was a wonderful experience. We were 3 couples attending a wedding in the area. We could have not asked for better accommodations. Trillium is located in a beautiful country setting. We enjoyed sunsets on the observation deck in the beautiful field where the Queen Anne's lace was swaying in the breeze. The breakfast served by your hosts is amazing!!! My favorite part was all the animals. The goats who greet you, the cats who love you, and Hannah, the dog who loves you and watches over the place. We will be back to this beautiful spot.
Great location. Wonderful hosts. The owners brought a nice little breakfast each morning which includes fresh baked bread and scones...
The highlight was eating dinner on the upper pasture while the sun set and then sticking around as the stars came out.
Just wonderful.
We highly recommend...

It was a great stay overall had a couple things that could be improved
It’s only got one bathroom which is kinda tight for 6 people is the only thing I didn’t like
An amazing stay at a beautiful home in a gorgeous setting. Even rainy and cold weather couldn't keep us from having a good time. My kiddo loved feeding the goats and petting the farm cats. Delicious baked goods delivered to our door each morning fueled us up for walks around the beautiful property. Won't be our last visit!
The gorgeous deck was our go-to hang out spot, at least when we weren't walking the trails or watching the goats, ducks and pigs on the property. The hosts bring by fresh bread and eggs every morning and the setting is stunning.
Located in West LaFarge, Amish country, the cottage property is charming and well situated for fishing. The owners live on site (big house) but there is still peace and quiet. It’s a great value.
