Relax and Rejuvenate at this Cozy Cottage in the Heart of the Driftless Area
Tucked away on a beautiful farm, this cozy cottage will provide you with all you need to relax and rejuvenate. This cottage is just a quick drive to Kickapoo Valley Reserve and Wildcat Mountain State Park and is close to the Kickapoo River and many trout streams. Grandma’s Cottage was built in 1929 and was moved to our farm in 1943. The original purpose was to provide a home for the “grandma” so she could live on the farm in her own house while the married son and family lived in a main farmhouse. Grandma's cottage is fully furnished with kitchen utensils, bed linens, bath towels, full kitchen, and complete bath, plus a wood-burning fireplace and furnace for cold weather. The cottage offers a highchair plus a full size bed and pull out sofa. A delicious farm breakfast of eggs, muffins, fresh homemade bread and homemade jelly is available.

This cabin was tranquil and relaxing. It's exactly what we needed to decompress for a couple of days. The property was beautiful and all the animals around the farm were very sweet. Hannah the dog and Honey the cat were really sweet to hang out with. The covered porch was very private and relaxing. We will definitely be back.
Trillium Cottage is a tranquil retreat in the lovely Driftless region. We loved the porch swing and the hammock and the cottage had everything we needed. Breakfast breads were a treat every day and we hope to return soon!
A beautiful idyllic cottage on a spectacular property! The hosts were awesome and brought fresh loaves of baked bread and assorted fruit jams from the farm every morning!
A cozy, clean, welcoming and quiet cottage. With a full kitchen and plenty of space to sleep 2 adults and 2 kiddos. The baked goods for breakfast were out of this world! We felt spoiled every morning. A lovely property with plenty of four legged company! The 360 view deck was unreal at night for star gazing. An excellent getaway location that we can't wait to come back to visit.
We absolutely loved hiking the property with Hannah and the friendly cats, and the morning breakfast was one of the highlights of our day. This stay was comfortable and homey, and the property provided the opportunity to get out in nature and relax for a bit. We're hoping to stay longer next time!
Great stay. Loved the hospitality- the sheep, goats, chickens, pig and friendly dog. Special homemade bread, jam and farm fresh eggs delivery in morning from Frank was a surprise. Definitely a step back in time. Grandma’s house.
I needed a quiet place to write where I could take walks and relax. Grandma's cabin was perfect--wonderful baked goods delivered to my door every morning and plenty of nature and quiet to restore my weary soul!
This was one of the most magical places we have ever been! Between all of the animals and wildlife, fresh baked breakfast, trails and trails of stunning forests and prairies, natural streams, it was a very special stay. Linda and Frank are amazing hosts. We especially loved the sheep, sitting on the porch, seeing the sweet barn cat Honey and dog Hannah, having fires/cooking with all the fresh produce available just down the road, and roaming the trails. The house itself was absolutely perfect and darling. We will definitely be back.
Nice quiet retreat that is very well appointed. A huge bonus is to receive fresh baked bread and sweet breakfast baked goods, and fresh eggs! This is a gem of a place!!!!
Peaceful weekend at this quaint cabin. The sky is perfectly clear and since there are not many properties w electricity nearby / the view of the stars is amazing. Great hiking - loved the animals. All around a perfect getaway. Owners were very kind!
Grandma's cabin was comfortable and cozy. The area is beautiful and peaceful. Frank and his family were super. the morning eggs muffins and bread were amazing . Definitely will be returning. We just loved it.
The property was wonderful, the fresh bread and eggs every morning made it very special. The house is centrally located in the driftless area making numerous fishing locates with in a 15 minute drive. Linda and Frank are great people and made the save easy!!
Ideal for needed R&R. Good walking trails. Stargazing w/out light pollution. Simple and comfortable accommodations. Everything we needed was in our cottage. Generous and warm hosts. Love the farm animals and the friendly family pets freely roaming the property. Paradise for nature lovers - plenty to do if you enjoy being outdoors.
My husband and I were fortunate enough to stay at this wonderful cabin in the driftless area for my birthday weekend. The property is beautiful, with hiking trails and farm life onsite. The property is close enough to many of the local towns / villages for great dining and shopping. The property managers were very nice, delivering a farm fresh breakfast each morning and even went the extra mile in baking me my very own birthday cake. We will hopefully be back soon!
Brought my 16-year-old for 2 nights of unplugged, crisp autumn peacefulness. The sweetest dog and cat kept us company on the porch while we ate fresh baked goods, read, talked, journalled, and sat quietly. Turning on our phones almost felt sacrilegious!
The cabin was beautiful and cozy, everything we expected. The property was beautiful and there were some very friendly cats outside that were always happy to greet us. We loved the cabin and everything met our expectations. We did the on site breakfast both mornings and it was delightful. I would definitely recommend it. The breads and sweets were amazing! The hosts were kind, helpful, and very easy to work with. We are coming back next year for sure!
We had a very relaxing stay at the cottage. The sheep watching was one of my favorite parts of the stay. It was the perfect zen for escaping the city. Being in the middle of Amish country was a first for me. After visiting Viroqua for the Memorial Day parade and ceremony we took in the Amish auction featuring quilt tops, flower flats and furniture. Everything is a short drive away. The cottage had everything we needed and even cooked a few meals together and walked up the hill to take in the sunset views. The full mattress was a bit small for us and sunk a bit in the middle but we made it work for the three nights we were there. Everything was very clean and comfortable otherwise. I loved taking my coffee on the covered porch even the morning it rained. Very peaceful weekend Thank you for hosting us on your amazing property.
We had a cozy, relaxing weekend at this unique cottage, deep among the hills and farms of the Driftless region. Frank and Linda and their family were wonderful hosts. What could be more effective at de-stressing a person than rocking in the glider on the porch while watching the fireflies? Or taking a short walk around the property with a friendly little goat following you around? Or just enjoying a morning coffee with a slice of homemade bread and blackberry preserves. We tore ourselves away for hikes in the Kickapoo Valley Reserve, which is a treasure. Don't miss the recently re-done Visitor Center, which has remarkably good displays about the human history, geology, and ecology of this area.
We were happy to find last minute availability here and so thankful that the host accepted our short notice request. Enjoyed meeting the hosts, Linda and Frank, as well as the couple staying at the other house but there is certainly more than enough room for privacy if that is your priority. We loved all the animals, the walking trails, and the amazing spot to watch the sunset on the ridge. This is a stunning piece of property and we are grateful that the hosts choose to share it in this way. If all of us who love this area moved here, it would ruin the place. Linda and Frank are giving us all the opportunity to enjoy it way it should be. We can’t wait to come back when we have a little more time to spend enjoying the land. (Oh . . . and the fresh eggs, home baked bread, and homemade jam are amazing too.)
We had a very nice time at the cottage. Breakfast was delicious with the fresh baked bread, sweets, and fresh eggs. We walked around the property a bit to look at the other animals and take in the sounds of the country. We traveled around Amish country during the day and stayed warm by the fire at night. The perfect, relaxing getaway and great way to unplug
