We had a really nice stay at this house. The island was very busy over Labor Day weekend, and this house was within walking distance to festivities (park), restaurants and grocery. The cabinets were completely empty, nothing left behind by previous guests, so bring everything you don't want to buy here. Salt & Pepper, coffee filters, etc. Make sure you check the house number when you arrive. Our GPS brought us in on the back street, and we pulled into an almost identical house 2 doors down. It was a couple of hours going back and forth with the realty company before we realized we were at the wrong house. Very embarrassing, but I could totally see someone else doing the same thing.
Great property great location. They have a sewer problem that needs to be corrected

Judy,
We are so sorry for this inconvenience. According to our records, this problem was fixed the same day. After you reported the smell, we were able to get someone out the same day. They concluded it was coming from the washing machine drain line and promptly fixed the problem. We did ask if you would contact our office again if the problem persisted, and we did not receive another call. We are so glad that you loved the property and location! We hope you had a wonderful vacation here on Oak Island.

Location is perfect
Pros: close to the beach, Italian restaurant, town park, and Publix. Location was great. House was just okay as far as furnishings and supplies. Didn't like the taped lampshades that are still always cockeyed, taped toaster, cheap sheets, torn window screens, etc. all easily fixed if someone cared.
Cons: SUPER BAD SMELL by the second day. I think it was coming from a sewer or washing machine area (which was located in a bedroom) No one would have been able to sleep in there with that smell. We opened the windows and left them open the entire trip. Didn't want the hassle of reporting it as we had already moved our stuff in and didn't want to waste a day of vacation. Someone had to have known this was a problem before they rented the house.
COCKROACHES as in 3, that we saw. I captured the first two and released them outside. The third one was just too fast, and he went under the bed.
The steps into the house are un-lit at night and just plain dangerous as the wood for the hand-rail is old and splintered. I don't know what would hurt more if you fell...the fall or the injury to your hand if you tried to hold onto the hand-rail.
The ENTIRE bottom half of the house is a DUMP!!! They kind of have it closed off, but one window was half open and the place was totally destroyed. Maybe that's where the cockroaches come from, and Lord knows what else.
Grass was not mowed, but the house next door had mowed grass...big difference. Again, bare minimum to make a buck. WHO CARES?
