Second time at the point, even better than the first! Great location, place was clean and well stocked with everything you need to grill, cook, and relax.Caught fish every day, nice dock for the boat. Exceeded expectations.
Nice roomy cabin for a family fishing trip. Secluded and quiet, many kitchen amenities and having two bathrooms was great. Look forward to booking again in the future.
The home was cozy and the outdoor space was perfect. We spent a lot of time on the dock and it has a nice swimming area as well. We brought our boat and really enjoyed the lake (water sports and fishing).

Thank you, Tiffany.I am glad you enjoyed your stay and I hope you can return soon.
Great place to stay. Nice and quiet area. There was an issue with the water softener but was addressed quickly. Owner was very respondent. Beautiful place! We rented a boat from a near by resort, Lost Acres Resort. They were absolutely great. Along with Norway Beach Resort. We rented a boat from both places! We will definitely stay again!
WOW! Was our first response, the road coming to the house was amazing, then we arrive and see beautiful water on both sides. House is very clean, sit at dining room table and see water, sit on sofa in living room, bedrooms and same awesome site. Mike was great about answering our questions also. Highly recommend!!!
Hi Jason,
I am so glad you enjoyed your stay at The Point. By the way, your family was the first group to come up in the spring and fall of the same year -- a great way to bookend 2020. I hope we see you again soon.
Best,
Mike Welsh
Our family enjoyed our stay. The kids had fun on the sandy beach. The house was roomy and we had everything we needed for cooking meals. We saw a lot of birds, especially eagles. The kids enjoyed fishing on the dock.
Thank you for sharing your lake cabin. This was our second time staying. Our family enjoyed our stay and we hope to return again in the future.

Julie, Thank you for your lovely review. You and your party were our first guests and I am so glad you enjoyed your stay. I hope you come back soon.
This cabin was perfect for our annual family fishing trip. The cabin is totally secluded and easy access to all the lakes. We used the nearby resort to unload and load our boats. The dock was prefect for the two 19ft fishing boats with electrical options for charging the boats each night. Outside fishing cleaning station was perfect.
Great house with lake front in the front and back of house. If you want a well equipped, comfortable house with a lot of writer and seclusion...this is it! Fishing isn't bad either!
This was our annual anniversary getaway and it was amazing. The house is very clean, beds are comfortable, kitchen has practically everything you need. The views are amazing! On the least side you get to see the sunrise over the water and in the west you get to see the sunset over the water. There are Eagles out and about the lake, a couple of times they landed in the tree right outside the cabin. The fishing on the lake is very good, we brought our fishing kayaks with us, which we launched from our beach and explored the lake. We caught fish everyday we were able to get on the lake. (Windy a couple days and couldn’t get out) If you go in the fall, the trees when they turn colors are gorgeous! I took so many pictures! We will be going back next year, we haven’t decided if we are taking the kids or going back for our anniversary again. We went to a bait shop in Bemidji, and the guys there were very helpful on what bait to use since the season was changing.
Our family really enjoyed our stay here. The cabin is very private, quiet, and spacious, with plenty of room to spread out inside and outdoors. Having both east- and west-facing waterfront made for beautiful sunsets, moonrises, and amazing stargazing on clear nights. The road from the highway to the property was well maintained, and the location is only about 30 minutes from Bemidji, which gave us the best of both worlds; seclusion and easy access to town. A few things to be aware of: the access road is very narrow, and meeting another vehicle can be stressful. When we arrived there were a lot of flies inside, and we were greeted with two fly swatters. The listing also mentions a sandy beach, but it was very small and not really usable for play. Wifi was weak and streaming wasn’t possible, and the TV options were limited. Overall though, the privacy, lake views, and peaceful setting made this a memorable trip for our family.

Why they chose this property
Our family has owned property on the peninsula for three generations and my father built a house in the 1980's (also listed on VRBO no 596613) about a quarter mile south of the Kitchi point cabin. I've visited The Point (as it has always been called) since I was a boy, fished off the dock, and have known the the three former owners. The last couple built the current cabin (really a four season house) about 2001, and when they put it on the market I made an offer. Although I don't fish anymore, it is a uniquely beautiful spot and the perfect vantage point for taking pictures of wildlife and boating on Turtle river and its connected lakes.
What makes this property unique
The Point sits at the tip of a north/south running peninsula, perhaps 150 feet across with lake access on the east and west shores. It is the only area property I've seen sited between two shores, and It affords spectacular views of sunrises, sunsets and wildlife. We have always had a pair of eagles nesting at the south west corner of our original property (one of the current pair pictured flying by the house). With just one other house on the peninsula, about a quarter of a mile south and undeveloped Forest Service land to the south of our property easily adding over 60 acres, to the 40 plus that we own It is very secluded and relaxing location. For those who want to fish, or explore the area, it is in the middle of the eight lake chain of inter navigable lakes, centered by Cass Lake to the south (a ten minute boat ride) and these lakes (including Kitchi) offer great fishing for pretty much all the popular game varieties.
Note - if your party much larger than seven, consider also booking our companion property, a quarter mile up the road (listing number 596613) which handles 6, or combined, around 13. Renting the two properties is also the solution for groups who want a shared vacation experience while maintaining separate family accommodations.
