About this property

Treehouse · Shasta A Frame Cabin with a View

This is your dreamy A Frame cabin escape nestled in four wooded acres overlooking Shasta Lake. Master loft and large front deck look out over the valley with breathtaking views of mountain peaks, granite cliffs and Hirz Bay.  Located between 3 beautiful National Parks - Lassen Volcanic, Redwood, and Crater Lake. We welcome you to experience cabin life and the wild beauty all around. Larger group? Check out our other listing, the 'Tawny Owl Cottage' ideally located next to the Treehouse.

Kitchen - fully equipped with stove, refrigerator, freezer, microwave, toaster, blender, coffee maker, coffee grinder, pots, pans, utensils, dishes. A/C unit. We also have a grill on the back deck near the kitchen!

Bathroom - located downstairs, shower and small tub, also includes towels, tissue, soap, and essentials.

Living Room - sofa, chairs, tables, wood stove, central heating, games, books, and WiFi

Dining Area - table and chairs, perfect eating and working space

Master and Guest Bedrooms - located upstairs, the master loft has a queen and overlooks the living room and view of the lake. The back guest room has a full sized bed and gorgeous built-in library. Both rooms have all bed linens, blankets, pillows, overhead fan. There is an A/C unit on the back wall that should be able to help with the summer heat. Keep in mind the stairs are very steep, the upstairs loft is not suitable for small children. We do have a portable baby crib for your convenience, but recommend children stay downstairs for their safety.

Front deck - deck table and chairs. You are welcome to camp on the deck under the trees and stars (which, by the way, will blow your mind).

Back deck - BBQ, washer/dryer

Parking is available in front of the house for one or two cars and extra parking can be arranged for a boat upon request (message us after booking)

Small children are not allowed in the upstairs loft, especially without adult supervision.

The front and back decks may definitely be enjoyed, but take care and watch children as the terrain may be steep in areas near the decks.

The Treehouse is conveniently located 4 miles from Hirz Bay boat launch. The surrounding area is an outdoor wonderland for young and old alike, with 300+ days of sunny day per year, mountains all around, more than 200 miles of hiking and biking trails for all abilities, Mt. Shasta Ski Park only 50 miles away, countless waterfalls, kayaking, and world-class fishing, everyone can find their paradise here. Located between 3 of some of the most beautiful National Parks (1 hour from Lassen Volcanic National Park, 3 hr from Redwood National Park and 3 hr from Crater Lake National Park).

We want you to feel at home in our peaceful forest cabin. The extent of our interaction is up to you, but we and/or our housekeeper will be available as needed to field questions or troubleshoot. We'll send you our house manual prior to your arrival, so you will know exactly what to expect.

For your convenience we have provided a video playlist that is jam packed with information and tutorials that will be your go-to for all questions and how-tos around the house. We recommend that you pre-download this playlist to your YouTube app, just in case, for example, the power goes out, you will have a guide to potentially get it back on.

You can find this linked in the document we send over to you prior to check in.

Of course, if you need further assistance please contact us through the Airbnb app. We keep all communication on the app.

The Treehouse is on a gated road, where there are only 3 other houses on the lane. You’ll feel at one with nature as you sit out the deck and see only trees (and maybe a deer or two) between you and Shasta Lake.

Driving to The Treehouse is simple - we aren’t far off of I-5. There is plenty of space to park your vehicles and if you need boat parking, please contact us for specific arrangements. There isn’t any public transportation that can get you here.

Managing Expectations:

The "Treehouse" is a wonderfully peaceful cabin retreat, a place to come and relax and enjoy nature. The location is beautiful, quiet, and somewhat remote. There is limited-no cell service.

We do miraculously have internet in the middle of the forest! But, because of our remote location, don’t expect supersonic speeds. Things should load, but just may take a bit longer than you are used to. You came to the forest to get away from it all anyways, right? :)

Also, please keep in mind you will be in the forest, sharing a surrounding space with beautiful wildlife, birds and insects of many kinds.
- The deck is a fun place to hang out, but it’s very high up, so obviously no climbing and children should be supervised to ensure their safety.

- The forest is as fragile as it is breathtaking. Leave it better than you found it :) Be mindful of your footprint, and please do your part to respect and preserve this special place. Don't harm the trees, dump waste, litter, or burn anything.

- We ask that you keep your kitchen waste inside as much as possible. This is because of the local bear population and their messy habit of knocking over garbage cans and dragging bags down the hill.

- As the registered guest, you're required to share all of the above information (and all information in the house manual) with others in your party and take responsibility for any damage(s) they might incur during your stay.

- For security, we have cameras mounted facing the side of the house and the driveway. If you're uncomfortable with this, please get in touch before your booking so that we can make an alternative arrangement.

- If you're new to Airbnb or have fewer than two positive reviews, you'll have to send a request to book our cabin. You can make it easy for us to approve your request by introducing yourself, telling us who you're bringing along and assuring us that you've read these house rules.

Was looking for a nice cabin in the woods and the Treehouse was perfect for our family. It really felt like a treehouse and my kids loved it. Very clean, great host, very responsive, heaters worked excellent (outside temp was 34), great views of the forest and lake shasta. Awesome time spent. Great setup. We are Cees and Madison! We love anything and everything outside. We spend most of our time traveling (we’ve lived full time on the road for 2 years now) and love meeting new people. Shasta Lake has been one of our favorite spots we found during our travels, and we love having it as our home base. We hope that you love our home as much as we do!
