About this property

The Country Porch in Wildwood Florida - A stones throw away from The Villages!

Rent this fully furnished, "Off the Beaten Path" country cottage for 3 nights or rent it for an entire season in sunny Florida. An abundance of song birds inhabit this beautiful country property on 1.5 acres. Peaceful setting with enormous shade trees. A farm occupies the property to the rear and dense vegetation surrounds. You may forget you're just minutes away from free nightly entertainment in Paddock Square at The Village Square of Brownwood. It's also a great place to ride bikes with clearly marked bike lanes on CR462 which connects you to the town of Wildwood and to The Villages (The Villages has over a 100 miles of bike/golf cart trails).
Plenty of parking for those coming through with a RV , boats, or trailer in tow.
Guest have access to all rooms of the house and are encourage to explore the 1.59 acre yard.
The only areas not available is the 16X28 well house, sheds, enclosed trailers, boats, and RV which are locked.
Our home is equipped with a "Ring" Door bell that will allow you to contact us at any time. Just ring the doorbell and we will be able to greet you and answer any questions you may have. There is a keypad on the front door for easy check in. A welcome binder will inform you of local attractions and bargains to be had.

Great get-away

Nice, secluded location; but close to The Villages. Plenty of space and kitchen had everything we needed. Beds were comfortable. Great yard for playing with the kids and "exploring" with them. Only negative was floors needed mopping. Would stay again.

Beautiful and comfortable inside and out!

House was clean, adorable decorations /nicely renovated, well provisvioned, and beds super comfortable. Several porch areas. Nice vibe, fire pit, darts, ring toss, cute decor outside is the best (we enjoy some outside evening time). Perfect spot for morning coffee in the rocking chairs on the front porch.Owners were very kind and plenty of privacy. Lots of big oak covered drives in the area. Beautiful location. Shops and restaurants nearby.We enjoyed our stay very much and would definitely stay here again if in the area and available! Thank you, owners!

Family funeral visit

This property and the owners were perfect, the place was cleaned and had all the amenities we needed for a family of 5. They were available if needed but was respectful for our space. The house is perfect for family my wife and I we are to old for a big house like that we did not know we have to clean the house floor and everything we have a maid at home we just want stay country side but I recommend this house for a family not for older thank you we enjoy our stay

Great country house

Beautiful house that was perfect for my wife and I and 4 kids while visiting retired parents nearby. Enjoyed the quiet back road and relaxing on the front porch. Still close to stores and activities for us. Covered parking spot was great to have for the rainy days. House was well stocked with quality pots pans and all utensils. For the price this house was amazing. Inside finishes, paint, floors etc all looked on the new side. We will stay here again for sure when in the area.

Perfect We needed this

We all love to travel but there are times when you need to get away. The Front Porch was the perfect solution for us. Clean quiet, tranquil with a down home country welcome feel. Lots of room inside and out. Barbecuing on the charcoal grill and relaxing around the Camp Fire in the evening was amazing. About an hour to the Gulf, the ocean, or the Disney complex in Orlando made options almost limitless. I could go on but I think you get the idea. This place is a 10.

Great place in a rural setting but close to the Villages.

Our family of 5 recently stayed at The Country Porch for a visit with my parents who live in the Villages. It was our first VRBO rental, and it was great. Very clean. Well stocked with all that you need, including condiments. Was just a short drive to my parents, and also food stores and restaurants. The owners were actually on site during our stay and they were so friendly. My only regret is not having more down time to just spend there in the spacious yard, which had horseshoes, lawn darts, golf clubs, rocking chairs and more. It is in a rural quiet area. Overall great stay and my parents are recommending it to any family or friends that plan to visit in the future.

A Most Relaxing Stay

We stayed at The Country Porch for 2 weeks in late March. It was a great vacation. The house was super clean, nicely decorated and had everything we needed. It was roomy but still felt cozy. We were very comfortable The grounds are nicely kept, and the various plantings are very pleasing. There are so many areas to relax while sipping a cup of coffee or a glass of wine - the screened porch in the back, the backyard to enjoy the sun, the rocking chairs on the front porch, and the very private side yard with 2 lawn chairs and a table in between. The location is super. Definitely in the country surrounded by homes with large lots. It was not unusual to see farm animals during some of our walks. Though in the peaceful countryside, it is only minutes to shopping, restaurants, and entertainment. Eddie & Tina were great hosts. They provided informational materials on the area and recommended things to see and do. They responded immediately at the time of booking and when we had a couple of requests during our stay. We highly recommend The Country Porch for a vacation stay. If we travel to that area again, we will definitely stay again if it is available. J & S Puhek

Eddie and Tina Grooms are lovingly called, "The Travelin' Okies" by our friends and family. We love to travel all around the world, exploring new places, and sharing our experiences with new friends we meet along the way. Eddie is retired from the Air Force of 20 years and always has a "project" going. When I say project - it ranges from remodeling houses to landscaping to planning the next theme party. Tina is a retired school teacher of 20 years and enjoys reading when Eddie doesn't have her involved in one of his projects. They have two amazing daughters and three adorable grandchildren. Currently, they split their time between Marlow, Oklahoma and Florida.

Why they chose this property

While visiting some our new friends from The Villages, we fell in love with the area and the whole concept of The Villages (a golf cart community filled with active seniors). This property is located just outside The Villages and only 3 miles away from the nearest Village Square of Brownwood where they have free nightly entertainment. The property is located on a county road on an acre and a half surrounded by tall oak trees and elephant ear plants that look like they are straight out of Jurassic Park. There are cows to watch adjacent to the property. Birds and squirrels are there every day to entertain the guests. We fell in love with the area as well as the property and want to share this experience with you.

What makes this property unique

You are close to shopping and restaurants but feel like you are in the middle of the country. The place to be is on the front porch on the wooden rocking chairs with a cup of coffee in the morning or during one of Florida's thunderstorms. It is so relaxing and entertaining at the same time.
