About this property
Private 6 Acre Catskills Retreat Between Mohonk and Woodstock - Sleeps 8
Come enjoy our mountain retreat! This secluded 3000-square-foot craftsman home sits on 5.5 wooded acres set far off of a quiet road in Marbletown. There are three large bedrooms with queen beds (all brand new top-of-the-line memory foam) and a media room with a door that has a queen pull out couch.
The entire home has beautiful wide plank wood floors made with wood from the property. The large open kitchen is well-appointed with a Wolf range, Sub-zero fridge, and Bosch dishwasher with Brazilian granite counters. The connected family room has a wood burning fireplace with custom mason work and a reclaimed wood mantle. The dining area, which is open to the kitchen and family room has a rustic farm table that seats up to 8. A mahogany counter connected to the kitchen has 4 bar seats, great for a casual meal. The media room off of the dining area has a barn door with stained glass detail and houses a 55 inch smart TV. The home has zoned central air and heat to keep you comfortable no matter the weather outside. One of the best features of this house is that it has ample large windows, offering unobstructed views of the pristine property.
The master suite is very large and even has its own private balcony and walk-in closet. The attached master bathroom has a clawfoot bathtub and a marble stand alone shower with both a rain shower head and detachable shower head. The two other bedrooms have large closets and are more than big enough to accommodate rollaway beds, should you need them. The 2nd bathroom upstairs has a large jacuzzi soaking tub and shower. None of the bedroom walls are shared, so that everyone has complete privacy.
The entire interior was repainted in February 2022 and all of the furniture and decor is brand new, including the linens. The first floor has all original artwork by one artist, a beautiful and thoughtful collection. All of the design was chosen with function and aesthetic in mind, as my family and I love to spend time at this house. The furniture is mostly from Anthropologie (including a velvet sectional), West Elm, and Crate and Barrel. Many items are also handmade from Etsy, including the farm table (coming from a family farm in Nebraska) and a large wool rug from Morocco.
The outside offers a partial wrap around porch with Adirondack chairs on one side and a flagstone patio in back with a pergola and comfy outdoor furniture. During the warmer months, the pergola is covered with beautiful red honeysuckle. There is an outdoor fire pit for making s'mores and a new weber propane grill. There is also a large grass area behind the house perfect for playing games in the summer or sledding in the winter. The property is thoughtfully landscaped with a small frog pond that has lily pads and water plants (and, of course, frogs!). There is also a large flower bed with a variety of plants that attract butterflies, caterpillars and birds. Above the house is a wildflower field. Beyond this landscaped area is another 2.5 acres of raw wooded land that offers complete privacy.
There is a garage for car parking and also a porte cochere (car port attached to the house) which makes loading and unloading convenient. The property has a long driveway with room for two parking spots in front of the detached garage and the porte cochere accomodates one vehicle. There is enough space for more vehicles in the driveway, should you need it.
Nearby attractions are plenty and include the Mohonk Mountain House and Nature Preserve, the Minnewaska State Park Preserve, and Sundown Wild Forest. The nearby town of Rosendale has a newly renovated public pool (where you can reserve a swimming lane), tennis courts (we have two rackets and many balls for your use), and baseball fields. Accord has a speedway (4 miles from the house) which is a dirt racetrack that holds racing events during the summer. It is really fun and really dirty! There are several public golf courses, including Roundout Golf Course (6 miles from the house), wineries, and museums. Even though the property is secluded and serene, the location offers a plethora of activities and restaurants.
Whether you are looking for a space for a small group event or just a nice place to enjoy with friends and family, this home and land offer a relaxing retreat. Come and enjoy the home my family and I love so dearly.

About the host
Hosted by Kate Campbell

Hello! I'm Kate and my husband Evan and I live and work in New York City. We have 2 adorable mastiff puppies named Leonard and Hugo and spend most of our days making sure they are happy. Evan is a social worker and I am a teacher.
Why they chose this property
We recently bought this house because it is simply stunning. Every detail of this house was thoughtfully crafted and the land is perfectly tranquil. Our family has been coming up to the Catskills for years and we decided it was time to cement that tradition for many years to come. We truly hope that you enjoy our home as much as we have!
