Escape to “Southern Wind,” a well-maintained Oceanside multi-story home and enjoy views from sunrise to sunset in beautiful Avon, NC.

On the ground level, you’ll find concrete parking under the carport, access to your private in-ground pool and patio area, a new hot tub, outdoor shower, and fish-cleaning station. Enjoy a picnic using either the charcoal or Weber gas grill. Within short walking distance to shops, restaurants, grocery stores, beaches, and the popular Avon Fishing Pier.

On your way upstairs, stop on the first level to play a round of foosball in the small, furnished game room. Continue up to the second level and you’ll find three spacious bedrooms. The master includes 1 queen, flat screen TV, and full private bath with tub/shower. Bedroom 2 includes 1 queen, flat screen TV, and close proximity to full hall bath. Bedroom 3 has a set of twin bunks plus 1 single bed. Conveniently located new full sized washer and dryer make laundry a breeze. Walk out to your spacious screened-in deck and enjoy gorgeous sunsets over the Pamlico sound

On the top floor you’ll find a great room with high ceilings, comfortable entertaining areas around the large flat screen TV, DVD, and stereo, and a large combined kitchen and dining area, anchored with a spacious breakfast island. Grab a cup of coffee and walk out to the Oceanside deck for stunning sunrises.

From sunrise to sunset, Southern Wind is sure to be your home away from home during your island getaway.

Perfect for a stay with 3 kids.Pros:-Easy walk to the beach!-Great location-Clean-Spacious-Multiple areas to relax outside -Backyard-Privacy -Host communication response time-Walk to shops, restaurants, and amazing coffee shop-Carport with outdoor shower and plenty of space to keep beach gearCons (nothing that outweighed the positives):- pine trees next to pool leaving constant pine needles- AC was out upstairs. Window units kept it in the 70s but reached 80 on the hot afternoons (downstairs was very cool!)Recommend this home! Would visit again.

Speaking from a kiteboarding purpose this property was perfect. The central location to spots was convenient and the lawn, shower and hose was great for washing down gear and ourselves. Then to the hot tub to soothe the muscles and heat away the chills. The house was spacious and the open upper level sets up perfectly for an evening of food and stories of the day.

There were a few things . Broken AC upstairs but window units provided which were fine because it was unseasonably cool. The pool has to be cleaned every day when it is windy , lots of cedar trash and leaves which blows in. We just did it with tool provided. No big deal. The owner is very nice and responsive to any requests. If you like to cook every thing is available.Kerig for coffee or regular coffee maker.We had a fun time!!

We had a great stay here in June. Matt was very helpful and answered all of my pesky questions and gave us great recommendations for restaurants and fresh seafood to cook for ourselves. I was a little concerned about it being on a busy section of the main road but it was not an issue at all. The pool area is nicely screened from the road with a fence and vegetation. You could not hear any road noise from inside the house. The walk to the beach was easy with stairs over the first part of the dune. Pay attention to the beach side though. I missed the crossing back once and ended up in someone's back yard instead of the public crossing. The house was very clean and I loved that there was very little carpet. Some people may not like that but imho, you just can't get carpet clean like hard surfaces. Maybe I'm still scarred from the trapped dirt we found when taking up carpet in my own house but hard surface floors are a big plus for me!The house has a nice layout with bedrooms on the middle level and common areas on the top level. The lower level had laundry and a small game area with a dart board and foosball.Having a pool was nice and we took advantage of it a couple of days. We did not use the hot tub so I can't offer an opinion there.In the past, we have stayed in Kill Devil Hills, Kitty Hawk, and Salvo. Avon has the right mix of the small town neighborhood feel with just enough restaurants and stores to be convenient. Our new favorite town in OBX.

Great place for family vacation!

The house was wonderful and very clean when we arrived. Several stores and restaurants nearby, and just a short walk to the beach. Our host responded very quickly to any questions we had. Would definitely stay here again!

Great place for a quick family beach trip!

Our family enjoyed this property for its proximity to the beach, its cleanliness and spacious layout. Very comfortable beds too! And close to shops, restaurants and the grocery store. It had everything we needed to vacation with little ones:) Matt was also very responsive to answering any questions we had!

This place was amazing. The screened in porch was a great place to gather and socialize. The pool and hot tub were clean and were cleaned again mid week. The kitchen had all the items I needed to cook some nice family meals and the kitchen table was big enough for all of us. The memories we made there were priceless. Absolutely loved the house. House was well stocked and a very short walk to the beach. Matt was very helpful and very responsive. Wasn't able to get to the house our first night because of hurricane Erin after affects but turned out to be an amazing week and adventure for our 10th wedding anniversary.

Great place for a family vacation

This place was wonderful to stay at for a week long family vacation. We had plenty of room for 4 adults and 3 kids. The kitchen had everything you could ever need. Location was easy to find but it is on the main road. We would stay here again.

Vacation at Southern Winds

Super easy reservation and check-in process. My family and I had a great time using the pool, hot tub and grill. The rooms were cozy and provided extra linens and towels for the stay. The house was very clean and welcoming! We loved the surrounding area. It was very quiet and close to many beach locations and sites to see. Hope to stay again!
