The host was great to work with and made sure we had everything we needed for checking in. The house is adorable, my family loved sitting by the fire watching movies and playing the games/puzzles from the game cabinet. The hot tub was great and there were plenty of towels for us to use. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking equipment and we had everything we needed while we were there. I highly recommend the Chalet!
Imagine going to your grandma's house to visit, as you enter she wraps you in a warm wool blanket, sits you in the chair in front of the fireplace and serves hot chocolate with fresh home made cinnamon rolls while the snow dusts the outside. Magical cabin
We had such a wonderful time. The cabin was beyond our expectations. Upon walking in we immediately felt at home. The Christmas tree was the best surprise. We will definitely be coming back!
You will find you have all that you need here. The easy access to the trail system is awesome. This is a lovely neighborhood. Only a 2 hour drive from Seattle and you feel like you have gone to another world. I highly recommend this vacation rental!

We loved the Chalet and are already planning another trip there
The chalet was clean and well stocked. We stayed there with another family so it slept 8 (4 adults and 4 kids) easily. We loved where the Chalet was located as well! It is located just a bit outside of Plain so the trip into Leavenworth was a little was a little further than expected. That was OK because the drive into town was beautiful. We highly recommend the Chalet to anyone looking to go to Leavenworth for a trip!
My family and I loved the Chalet. This was our second time staying here and we plan to come back next year. The house was well stocked with everything we needed (kitchen appliances, pots and pans, utensils, towels etc), everything was clean and it was decorated for Christmas (we stayed in December). We loved sitting by the electric fireplace watching movies and relaxing in the hot tub. We even played some of the board games that were provided. Overall it was a wonderful andrelaxing stay.
Super cabin, as described in the posting. Hosts are very good at communicating and making you feel welcome. Great to find a nice cabin that is pet friendly. Plenty of space for our family of 4, could have easily had a couple of other people there. The only downside for us, and it's nothing the owners can change or need to amend the posting for, is you are staying in a community, so there are other cabins nearby which means you don't feel as secluded if that's important to you.
The cabin is almost identical to ours which was built back in the early 90's. Except for a few minor layout differences ours having a full bath upstairs as well as down, it what ours should be like. Ours is also a STR and 100% occupied for the summer so, Lynn's is like our alternate home in the Ponderosa. We love it and I will always ask Lynn first if available when we are on electrical working staycations or just relaxing time in Plain.
Thanks again Lynn.

This was our second time staying at this chalet, and our experience was even better than the first time. Very clean, well-stocked kitchen, nice hot tub, beautiful, wooded trails (including one just beyond the backyard). Our daughter loved the spacious loft, and adults loved the comfy beds downstairs. The town of Plain is a short, five minute drive, and two sledding hills are within walking distance. I brought snow hiking poles for my elderly mom, and she was good to go for hiking on the snow and ice — which she enjoyed immensely. We love Plain for cross-country skiing options. Do note that all-wheel drive, at a minimum, is needed in the winter. Thanks for a great stay!
Perfect extra touches for a wonderful Christmas getaway with children! From included sleds to a Christmas tree, all decorated and ready for us to put our Christmas presents under… Wonderful place!
Nothing regarding the property, but if you do not want a 30+ minute ride to Leavenworth every day for the Leavenworth experiences, you might want to stay closer.
It was worth it for us, but with families with very small children you might want to stay closer to town. Something I would want to know if I had small children. Again, worth it for us and no big deal as we had older, patient kids :)
First of all, this is a beautiful and well accommodated property. The pictures do not do it justice. Unfortunately, it snowed about 16 inches before we arrived. I know that the owner cannot control the weather but there was a big berm blocking the driveway. It was not well marked nor was there a porch light on. We weren't entirely sure we were at the right place and neighbors were eyeing us. I recommend updating the listing to no cars in the winter time. I'm glad I'm an experienced driver from MT with an SUV. I did not expect to have to shovel up the driveway, around my vehicle, the deck, and front porch to even get inside. Also, the trip into town is about 45 minutes with snow- that's just an fyi. The other roads are not well maintained.

This was the very first snowfall of the winter and our neighborhood roads were plowed as were all of the county roads. That is the reason for the berm of snow at the entrance of our driveway. I know I communicated that the man who plows the driveways was working as hard and fast as he could to plow the driveways after the 17 inches of snowfall during the night. He worked dawn until dusk and just couldn't possibly get to all of our driveways in one day. Thanks so much for your understanding about that. In the last 5 years, this is the only instance where a guest felt they couldn't get into the driveway. We always encourage our guests to bring chains for their vehicles for safe travel and for ease of access to roads and the driveway. Thank you for your kind words about our property and for staying, glad to hear you enjoyed your stay.
We enjoyed everything about our stay. The hot tub was big and clean, the kitchen had everything we needed, the electric fireplace was lovely and the backyard access to hiking paths with sledding hills nearby was perfect, especially when heavy snowfall made us wary of venturing out.
When we could venture out, the town of Plain is just a couple miles up the road with Nordic ski trails right there.
Be aware that if visiting in the winter, all wheel or four-wheel drive is helpful and tire gloves or chains should be in your car (I got to use mine on a hill in the house’s neighborhood). The roads in the community as well as the driveway do get plowed.
One thing that could be improved is cleaning. While I don’t mind doing some end-of-stay tasks that make things easier on the cleaning service like stripping beds and starting dishwasher and towel loads, I was a little surprised to arrive to a house where I had to put the clean dishes away, get clean towels out of the dryer and clean the tub/shower myself (used bar soap was still present as well as a good amount of hair and open containers that made it appear the bathroom had been forgotten in cleaning).

We are so sorry to hear that our cleaning service diddn't leave our property prepped and completely ready for your stay. This is the first time we have had this problem. We have made them aware of your comments. If it happens again, we will be looking for a new cleaning service. I do know that they have been taking the utmost care to clean and sanitize due to COVID cleaning protocol and that may have occupied their time. Sincere apologies. In the future please know it would help if you could take photos and notify the property owner directly to problem solve. Thanks so much.
Everything was perfect. The kitchen had everything we needed. It was easy to get to. Great communication with the host. All the board games and the cabin was warm and cozy when we arrived. I have nothing bad to say about the trip. Literally everything was perfect.
Our trip was amazing! All communication prior and during the trip was prompt and helpful! The house was perfect for my entire family and the kitchen was perfect to cook big meals in. The house was immaculate and the decorated Christmas tree was the icing on top . The location is just enough off the beating path to give the cabin vibe, but close enough to all the activities. I would recommend this place over and over again.. and look forward to visiting in the future! Thank you for making our trip perfect!
We came for a family wedding in Plain, and this was a perfect place to rest our heads. The neighborhood was nice to walk around a there was a small park for the kids to play at
Before we arrived the homeowner was very good about communicating with us all the necessary information needed for the house. When we arrived to the house it was very easy to get into using the code that the homeowner gave us. We were greeted to a personalized bottle of wine and a very clean, well kept home. There was plenty of room for everyone and we were able to cozy right in. The house backs up to a trail that you can take right down to the river and there is a hot tub on the back that was very nice and relaxing. The whole stay was very good and I would definitely book this home again and recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable nice home for a couple or family.
The house is very comfortable. My wife works remote, the wifi is excellent. The beds are comfy. Kitchen has everything you need. Location is quiet and safe. The grandkids (11 & 12 yr old boys) had a good time.
We had a great stay. A few hiccups in the beginning with regards to dirt on the floor and stains on the couch but both were remedied quickly. A very cozy place and responsive owner.
The kitchen was very modern and stocked with a complete selection of new cookware. The furniture was new, very high quality, comfortable and well appointed. We enjoyed the fire pit thanks to a brief reprieve from the fire ban, and the hot tub was very enjoyable. The only suggested improvement is to replace the bunk bed mattresses which while satisfactory were not great. All in all I give the place high marks.
