Kitesurf and sailing instruction available upon request. The Sea Monkey is an authentic Ocracoke home, single story rambling ranchero-newly renovated and fully equipped Kitchen,
4 bedrooms and 2 1/2 bath if you count the out door shower as a half bath;)?
Large living room/yoga/dance space with fully equipped with loads of old vinyl and a record player.
In the historic fishing village of Ocracoke studded with many great local restaurants and no big box or commercial chains allowed.
All of our sea food is caught fresh daily by our local fishermen and women.
Home to the secret hyde out of the pirate Black Beard amongst others, our local brewery pays tribute in its name1718- the year Black Beard was decapitated here- at the climax of the dramatic naval battle.
Amazing food and great live music abound.
Fourteen miles of prestigious beach ranked Best Beach in the America time and time again.
Phosphoresence, sailing, surf, fishing- on, near or off shore in the Gulf Stream, paddling, birding, and of course world class Kite Surfing.

Accommodates 4-6 people very comfortably, absolute maximum of 8.

My home is in a working neighborhood- these folks work hard to make the island run! Keep the volume down outside after 10pm and be respectful.
Please leave the house cleaner than you found it and feel free to carry on the tradition by leaving some coffe wine etc…for the next guest!
When returning from the beach-Please wash sand off in the outdoor shower or hose hanging on the porch. The pipes get clogged by sand.

Perfect location, near everything!

Perfect location right near everything, but off the main road. Its tucked away so when on the deck you feel so secluded. We loved the outdoor shower, and the number of bathrooms! The house is so close to everything we just biked everywhere including to the beach!

Great location, super easy check in & check out with great communication with owner. This is an old school, beachy, hibby vibe, Ocracoke cottage. No bells and whistles, just a cottage with lots of character to gather with friends & sleep. It was perfect for our adults only labor day weekend.

Great find!

Our stay at the Sea Monkey was so wonderful and we will be returning in the future. The house was just a short walk for many restaurants and coffee shops as well as being a 5 min drive or so from the beach. Keith was attentive and helped us find things to do while in Ocracoke. The house also included many more amenities than other VRBOs I've stayed at. I strongly recommend Keith's place!

Island Girl

My family and I had a great time. This was my 4th visit to the Island, and I've loved every visit. I would absolutely recommend staying at Keith's place. You can walk to most everything, if you like to walk. Or, rent a golf cart or bicycle for getting around. It's up to you! My family really enjoyed Jason's Restaurant. The food there was awesome and not too pricey. I would definitely recommend the pizza! YUM! Thank you!

Property is overgrown and unsafe

The inside ok. Roaches and ants inside. The outside looks like a junkyard The property is so overgrown you cannot see the house from the road. This should not be a vacation property. There is no gym. It is a weight bench in a rotten deck. The outside trash cans were full when we arrived. There is no outside area to enjoy. I tried to rent something else but nothing was available for 8 people.

I moved here because it’s the best Kitesurfing location in the United States if not the world!
This sweet little banana ranch is a budding permaculture dream of mine💚

What makes this property unique

It’s a “large” lot for Ocracoke and provides quite a bit of quite and privacy. The birds love my yard and trees and their song is often the only sound you’ll hear in my neighborhood.
Walking or biking distance to every thing in the village and beach the location cannot be beat.
