Really enjoyed the stay here. Close enough to Yosemite since that was our main reason for the staying there at a reasonable price for 3 nights. Well kept and thoughtful amenities. Had a small issue with check in but was easily and quickly resolved thanks to the management quick response and attentiveness. The 4 stars is due mainly to the apps system which is what really made it a bit difficult and nothing to do with our host who was extremely helpful and attentive to our smalls needs. Thank you for the stay and will recommend it to anyone else.
This was an amazing place for a solo retreat to reconnect with myself and relax and be in the present for once. Definitely thinking about staying again in the future.
My friend and I loved our stay! It was about an hour and 20 minutes to the park, but that was with the closures. The cabin was comfortable and fit our every need. They even had a cooler for us to use during our stay. We ate out dinner and there were many great restaurants within a 15 minute drive. Id happily stay here again
John & Brenda were absolutely fabulous hosts. They were very responsive and provided great insight on activities. An example is we were having difficulty in obtaining an entry pass into Yosemite & Brenda advised us to go onto the app which worked beautifully.
The place was very clean and perfect for our family. We utilized the BBQ which was top notch. My only suggestion is to bring a cutting board but other than that it had everything you needed.
Thank you very much & we will definitely think of this place in the future.
This is a small but very cool place to stay for 2-4 people. My wife & I were traveling to Yosemite with our 17y/o daughter and it was perfectly sized for the 3 of us. The owner’s are very responsive and attended to all our needs quickly! I would highly recommend staying here over any hotel in the area.
The cabin is tucked away in the mountains about 25 minutes from the entrance of Yosemite National Park. Was a spur of the moment occasion in which everything was perfect! The cabin was super clean and had all the necessities (stove excluded but the outdoor grill suited fine for grill/cooktop), very quiet and perfect if venturing solo, with a significant other or with the family. It is secluded from the lodge and major stores are about 8 miles away, so city lights didn't effect the night scenery. Everything was perfect from the drive, to the scenery, Yosemite itself and being able to relax and escape.
Definitely would recommend and will be looking forward to future reservations here.
Loved this place nestled in the hills outside of Yosemite. Quiet, comfortable, unique. Loved the selection of dvds as a fun way to spend an evening in a nostalgic kinds of way (aka no YouTube or cellphone required for entertainment) Used this place as our home base for four nights as we hiked different parts of Yosemite NP. Also enjoyed the rooster greeting in the morning off in the distance. Great place and I’d stay here again.
This is a wonderful place to stay. The cabin was lovely and comfortable. There are two routes into Yosemite. If you take 140 into the park it takes about an hour and 15 minutes with beautiful views along the way and places to get breakfast on the way in and dinner on the way out. Route 41 is also easily accessible to go into the part via Wawona. Don't miss Yosemite Trails Horseback riding or a 1/2 day on Bass Lake. Brenda was a spectacular hostess; very available when needed. You cannot go wrong staying at Sierra Mountain Lodge!
We are a family owned and operated lodge. We opened the Sierra Mountain Lodge in May of 2005 as a Bed and Breakfast. At the time we had two young children and our goal was to be able to raise them, teach them a work ethic and make a living. For 10 years we did just that, opening our home up to travelers from around the world. We met so many amazing people and enjoyed every minute.
As with life, things change, the park became more and more popular. It became advisable for our guests to enter the park earlier in the morning to avoid traffic. After a couple years of this trend we found more and more of our guests were skipping breakfast to get an early start. So as with any business we evolved to meet our clients needs.
In 2013 we ended our breakfast service and lowered our rates. This allowed our guests to get up and out on their schedule and to choose breakfast from one of many great local eateries. The breakfast lobby became the Sierra Suite a truly unique space. We then added several private and community BBQ grilling stations around the lodge. These have become a guest favorite. After an amazing day in Yosemite, guests can come home, relax & grill under the stars.
We are still here enjoying our lives in the Sierra’s, we live an an adjacent acre, we give our guests total privacy but are always available to attend to any guests needs 🙂
Your hosts, John, Brenda, Ryan & Amelia
