About this property

Lakefront and Kayak (1 bedroom unit)

Charming lakefront home built in 1903 as a boys gymnasium, converted into 12 separate apartment units in the 1950 s. This one bedroom unit, is located on the 2nd floor with spectacular views.

Originally a gymnasium for a boys school, this charming 12-unit apartment complex, sits on a spacious lakefront lot (close to 1 acre property), in a residential neighborhood. This unit is on the 2nd floor, no elevator and can sleep 3. It has a bedroom with a Queen bed and 1 bathroom. Unit has a living room with a small kitchen and dining area. The living room has a sofa that converts into a double bed.

This unit has fantastic views and all the comfort of a home. No elevator. The fully equipped kitchen includes a gas stove, toaster, coffee maker (coffee, tea, hot chocolate), microwave and a fridge. Pancake mix and basic cooking necessities (oil, some spices) are provided for your convenience. There is a deck, on the 2nd floor right outside the unit with amazing views. Paddleboard, kayaks and canoe can be used to relax on the lake and watch the sunset or get some exercise.

There is a lot of wildlife to enjoy on the lake, it is open for fishing during season. You may enjoy seeing ducks and eagles as you enjoy the lake from the dock.

Needs some attention
I think some addition to detail could be used to place this property on top. I provided some input to host that was professionally addressed and for that I appreciate the effort of the host. Could be a 5*** with a bit more attention and with clearer instructions on operations. Small changes to include water pressure and temp of water in kitchen. Host was very receptive and helpful.

Too small
The property is old, in need of work. Very small bathroom and bedroom. Very thin walls, nice kitchen and living room was ok.

Home for the holidays cozy yet cold!
One I lived in Washington my whole life I've never would have thought that Lakewood had that little honeycomb hideaway . I would love to visit again in the warmer season to have access to that beautiful lake I've recently moved to Texas and Texas has absolutely no water. I said all that to say you get the total ambiance of the Great Northwest at this property The people leave you alone it's a great spot for writing . Or finding solitude for self-care I enjoyed my stay! I would recommend this to anyone . Five stars hands down if you like peace and quiet

Cute place
We needed a place to stay while visiting family in the area and hotels were way too expensive. This served its purpose well but a few things could be improved. The place had an odd smell to it; perhaps because it’s old and it may sit empty for long periods of time. The entrance is around back and up outside stairs- this needs to be explained in the ad. It was very difficult to find in the dark and once we did we couldn’t get in with the code provided. We had to wait about 10 minutes for the property manager to arrive - we were given the wrong code. Also, the furniture is old and very uncomfortable, except for the recliner which was ok. The mattress was also very uncomfortable. Even with all these complaints, the place is in a great location and has some charm to it. The property manager did get quarters to me in a very timely manner and provided laundry detergent which I thought was very nice!

Quaint and peaceful
We loved being able to sit by the lake and enjoy all the amenities included. Was close enough to the Tacoma dome we had no problems attending a concert during our stay and enjoyed the quiet later back neighborhood after
