Beautiful private beach and backyard pool at our restored Old Florida house!

Beach cottage on a double lot with fenced yard on Long Boat Key Barrier Island. This 3 bedroom two full bath 50s ranch was restored 3 years ago (and repainted in 2023) including new pool, pool deck, windows, bathrooms, kitchen with granite counter tops, outside hot and cold shower and more. This private house is about 400 feet to our private deeded Gulf beach. Local restaurants and market around the corner. Drive South 20 minutes to St. Armand Circle for bars and shopping. Head North 7 minutes to Anna Maria night life. Watch the sunrise over the Inter-coastal on Jungle Queen and then bring your cocktails to enjoy sunset on miles of unspoiled Gulf beach just across the street. Tennis, golf, bike path, fishing nearby. Jungle Queen includes a grill, a deck for grilling under the shelter of the sea grapes, Roku and smart tv's, sound bars and wifi.

This is a bright, well appointed house in a great location. It had everything we needed for our month long stay. The patio is private and pretty and it was nice to sit out on the cooler days. I wish we could have stayed longer!

A lovely home away from home

The owner of the home is easy to communicate with and very accommodating as well. The location of the house is ideal…close to a beach, many wonderful restaurants, and Joan Durante park. The house and amenities are as described with a very private yard and great pool. We will return next year!

Much needed rest and relaxation

This property was just perfect for my needs. The pool was fantastic and the home had all of the necessary amenities. I really appreciated the fenced yard and the privacy of the landscaping. The walk to the gulf was just across the road. I brought my Bernedoodle and there were plenty of areas to walk him. The property owner was very responsive with answers to questions and renting for the month was smooth and easy. Longboat Key was quiet and relaxing, but just a short drive to Sarasota or Bradenton.

Great month of vacation in March

Great location, easy walking distance to three good restaurants, and a convenience store. And easy to get to the beach. The backyard was fantastic for both us and our dog. We just wish the pool was heated. Master bedroom and bath were very comfortable. The second bedroom was very nice and good size. The third bedroom was like a college dorm room, but we did not need it. The owner was very responsive to our e mails and even accommodated our request for two additional nights. Excellent communication. Highly recommend for walk to beach and to some local restaurants.

Such a nice experience!

This is such a quaint little home in an ideal spot. The pool is great! My kids absolutely loved it and got great use of it. The yard is fenced which is great. The beach across Gulf Drive is beautiful and quiet, even on a holiday weekend. The host is so responsive. Overall a lovely experience.

We loved this house. It’s so adorable and you can truly see the work that has been put into it. It is in an excellent location in regards to being near the beach as well as the neighborhood. Covid 19 cut trip short😷😎

House/Location was great , wish pool had been heated. Due to Covid 19 we left 2 weeks early, asked about refund. Not available, was offered a week in October, but we aren’t able to travel back at that time. I understand Covid19 is an act of God, but was hoping for some $ back!

Beautiful property , relaxing stay

Property was very clean and well taken care of. Beautiful home in a nice quiet neighborhood. Very relaxing with your own private pool to sit by and enjoy in the evenings. Very short walk to the beach , very private, no crowds, as beautiful as it gets.

I bought and renovated this 1952 classic Florida Ranch 5 years ago. I live in Massachusetts and someday I hope to spend winters in this sweet and beautiful beach community. Since buying this house we have redone the roof, windows, walls, kitchen and bathroom. We recently redid the pool deck and resurfaced the pool, put in a private outdoor shower. We are continuing to improve the landscaping. Until we are able to move there part time, we are renting it to people who perhaps want something different than the standard condo.

Why they chose this property

I first visited Longboat Key over 30 years ago and fell in love with the island. The street ends on the intercostal so there is very little traffic. The neighborhood is clean, friendly, and properties are well maintained. This house is 400 steps to a long beautiful private Gulf beach. Duarante Park is two blocks away. It has walking paths, kayak put-in and great sunrises. Some days you can spot manatees and dolphins in the canals. If you have a well mannered dog, he/she can come too. The back yard is fenced.
