Easy access to slopes, parking lot, and outdoor space in summer (deck gate will be locked in winter months). Enjoy your Snowshoe stay here! The perfect place for your vacation. First Floor means easy walk walk out the mountain, village, slopes, and bike trails as it is only a couple units down to the exit. Located in the Mtn. Lodge building wing closest to the Village. Split Rock Pool complex right across the street! My Guarantee...If the slopes close prior to or during your stay, I will refund or credit all of your rent and deposit.

Interior renovations are happening at Mountain Lodge. New common area, new carpet and hallway work, and other significant improvements through the interior of the building. Must see to believe the transformation.

Mountain Bikers - The decks are installed and open! I have added gated access for this deck so you can store/lock your bikes on the back deck/porch. Back porch/deck has table and chairs for your enjoyment.

Continually updated and Ready for you! Located on the 1st floor...means a better temperature control vs. higher floor condos. Remodeled Kitchen, Nice furnishings, 60" flatscreen TV, and all the convenience of a Mountain Lodge condo.

We are located on the first floor near the exit to the slopes and village in the wing closest to Allegheny Springs and Split Rock Pools. If you have small kids and want a short walk to the slopes, this is your condo! Split Rocks Pools is right across the street. Satellite TV and in room Wireless Internet access. Gated parking access right outside the building! Some of the best parking on the mountain. In Summer you can back right up to the back deck. Grassy area outside of deck can be used to tailgate, setup your own grill and hang out. And now with the gated-deck - you can expand your area outside! In Winter, you will enjoy the easy access of a 1st floor condo to the ski slopes.

Large open lobby with a stacked rock fire place is a great gathering place.
Available Indoor Bike lockers. Remember you cannot bring your bike into the room, but there are about 30+ bike (AND Ski Storage) lockers available to rent should you not want to lock your bike on your car bike rack. See the front desk for details upon arrival.

NO SMOKING in the condo
NO BIKES in the condo - Any bikes caught in the room will be deemed as in violation of your rental agreement and you will forfiet all deposit monies. The building has lots of security cameras for us to validate - please don't or you will loose your deposit - $300.
NO PETS in the condo. Due to severe allergies in my family, I cannot allow service animals in this condo. No reservations will be accepted for a party with a service animal.

Several village restaurants are available around the corner.

Mountain Lodge is a very family friendly complex. There is an indoor toddler play area, indoor ice skating, and quiet hours beginning at 10 PM. There are also a couple of fitness machines available on-site. (summarized below)

We enjoyed the unit itself even thought the building was under a major overhaul! There were 2 queen beds, and a fold out couch which met our needs as a family of 4. Super close to the village and fireworks! Thanks for a great stay! The only thing I didn’t pack and wished I had b/c there wasn’t one in the unit was a hair dryer. *note to self.

The place is clean, convenient, and comfortable. It was also so easy to get right to the slopes. I would definitely return. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is that the living space is a bit small and could use one more comfortable chair, and a coffee table,and maybe a smaller dining table

Thanks for the review. In regards to the living space...all the 2BR Mtn Lodge condos have the same living area. We intentionally did not put in a coffee table so there is more room...and with 2 end tables, there is ample space to set drinks and other items. This guest did not have 6 staying in this 2BR, so I can understand that the dining table may have been larger than needed. The condo is designed to sleep 6 and there is a table to accommodate a group this size. I agree that it is very easy to access the slopes and is one of the reasons we purchased it.

Over all the unit is nice. Owner is great. Bathrooms both have showers and tubs. Kitchen could use a update but everything functions. Both beds are nice and large but could use new mattresses. Owner gave us early check-in and late check-out.

I just want to make quick comment about the mattresses. I prefer a firm mattress and can attest that this mattress is still firm. It is hard to conform to every renters needs when it comes to the firmness of a mattress. I would suspect this renter does not like a firm mattress which is why he made the suggestion.

Martin's place was clean and comfortable. However very outdated. Kitchen had no disposal, knives very dull, no sponge or soap. Stove and oven very old and tried to burn our food :( Tv in a weird spot but otherwise comfy furniture. Also be aware, pool is mentioned but not included, it is 15/person. Overall nice place on a budget

This renter stayed on the last weekend that the slopes were open for the 2015/16 season so there had been many folks who had rented the past 4 months. Some issues are things that are out of my control and I do personally clean my condos top-to-bottom in both Spring and Fall (besides the housekeeping between rentals). I put dish soap under the sink, sharpen knives, touch up the paint on the walls, wash the bed linens and clean the carpets and more. I do state that the Split Rock Pools are across the street - and there is a fee...but the only way to get in for free is to rent through Snowshoe Central Reservations. The money you save renting through me will offset the cost you would pay renting from them. As for the oven, we have learned that when you cook at 4800 feet, you need to turn it down 25-50 degrees - not just for that unit but for the ones in the other condos we own as well. As regarding being outdated, I agree that it does not have granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances. You can go next door and pay double if you want that at Allegheny Springs. On the flip side, I agree that you can certainly get a nice, clean room at a reasonable price renting any of my 6 Mountain Lodge Condos. Martin

Great place, great location

This condo was as-advertised and perfect for our family of 4. While not facing the slopes, the room is very close to an exit (maybe 4 doors down the hall) that opens right to the front of Allegany so if you need tickets, etc you have easy access. That end of the building is also closest to the Village so super quick access to the restaurants, etc. Loved this as we didn't end up feeling like we were walking through the inn forever when we left...exit was "boom" right there. Slopes are also off that same exit as well so hardly any walking at all to get going. Not much to say as everything went well and we had no complaints. Owner was great at communication and left terrific recommendations for the ski and food options.

Great location and decent setup

The place is about what you'd expect from a state park cabin (in comparison). Thin mattresses, basic needs met, small kitchenette. It was clean and had the amenities we needed. We were able to cook a few meals, which was crucial. The location was great. Walking to just about everything. The Internet in Snowshoe is not good, plus there is spotty roaming cell networks. The room was no better. There was no streaming on the TV's. The place was built in 1981, so it has some dated features and wear and tear, but overall worked well. The price was right for skiing, so I got what I expected. Would probably do again assuming nicer places would be vastly more expensive.

Great Location

The Mountain Lodge is an old building that could use improvement in the building and management. I doubt that either of those will happen so you just have to accept some of it's downsides. The biggest being that it's loud. All the bedrooms share a wall with the interior hallways and you can clearly hear anyone speaking with a regular volume. The check in process can be slow when there are a lot of people waiting to get in. Thankfully, I wasn't with a tired family waiting to get in the room. I saw a lot of that and it didn't look fun. As far as the specific property that I rented, it was great. The condo was very functional for skiing with places to put gear and plenty of hooks. The location was ideal as it is on the end closest to the ballhooter lift. I would stay in this particular unit again.

I agree that this property is an older property, and this appears to be why the 4 star, as John stated the condo was "great", "functional", and "location was ideal". He did not mention the new furniture, kitchen table, flooring, and carpet. And he did not mention that because it is an older property, it is in the prime location on the mountain. Whatever deduction he rated could be stated for ALL Mountain Lodge condos as John said the downsides are related to the building, common services, etc. All that being said, I hope to have him as a guest again.

Why they chose this property

We needed a larger condo (than the one bedroom we earlier purchased) with the growing family. We could not ask for a much easier access to the slopes with the kids and Ballhooter lift is literally right there.

What makes this property unique

Ideal location within Mountain Lodge. No worries about lugging everything to upper floors with the easy parking lot access. Perfect for families with small children. Near the side entrance which feeds out to the village and ski slope. First Floor condos are much cooler in summer than 2nd and 3rd floor units.
