The proximity to downhill skiing is unbeatable. Everything was as described in the listing and is well suited for a short stay.

Tahoe Vacation Rentals
We loved the convenience of walking to the slopes. The rental is cozy and met our needs but is more "no frills" than most (as stated by the owner in the description).
My husband and I took our boys skiing and debated between this and a hotel in Truckee. WOW - this was such an awesome location and the boys loved the loft.
Will definitely be back

Hi Becky!,
Thank you so much for this great review! We are so pleased to hear your family's vacation was a great one and that this property was just the right place for you. We hope to see you again in the future.
This is comfortable and clean. It’s a perfect place to stay for a week of skiing! Easy check in, comfortable, clean, and great communication! It had everything we needed.
Pleasant little place; everything worked out well, except the wall mounted heater may not be adequate when it's really cold outside. The location is priceless when skiing is the main interest.

Good morning,
Thank you for the feedback on the newly installed wall heater. I hope that with the combination of the wall heater, the electric fireplace in the living room and the space heater in the loft, that you were able to stay cozy for your stay. Its been a great winter for skiing and we are happy to hear you took advantage of the location! Kindly,
This property is from Tahoe Vacation Rentals, so you communicate with them via email and not the app, but they are super responsive, even during the holidays. Space was clean, well-stocked, and super convenient to skiing at Tahoe Donner. Perfect for our family of four.
My three daughters and I really enjoyed staying at this condo. The upstairs beds are super cozy, and the view of the mountain from the huge window is beautiful. It's so close to the lifts which made it very convenient to ski, then walk back for a lunch break. I highly recommend staying here.

Hi Rebecca,
Thank you for your review! We are so glad to hear this property was comfortable and convenient, making for a great vacation! We hope to see you again in the future.
Perfect for a quick ski getaway. Snow was insane this year, but that roads and paths were clear. Unit could use more cooking utensils and a dish towel for drying dishes.
Little open loft one bath kitchenette condo in kid friendly Tahoe Donner, "the place to begin" skiing. Lots southern exposure, glorious sunshine, view to lift. Lodge and Ski lift less than a block away. The drive into Truckee or to other skiing in the area is reasonable. Because there was a guest pass and hot tub mentioned in the TVR info, we were hopeful, but no, apparently. Maybe you can ask TVR?

Good enough for 2 nite stay but could be improved
Due to heavy snowfall, it was difficult to locate actual building. Narrow spiral stairway to upper level. Thick sponge mattress on main bed not comfortable for someone with back issues. No oven, borderline inadequate lighting, tricky heating.
The property was just as advertised and we were happy with the location, size, beds, linens, and supplies.
We only had two minor complaints. We couldn’t seem to take a hot shower for longer than about six or seven minutes as the hot water ran out. Also, it seemed as though the sliding glass door that led to the balcony was bolted shut, and there are no other windows to enjoy the fresh mountain air. There is no air conditioning, and the unit heats up during the day and made sleeping in the loft a bit warm despite the fan.
Other than that, we very much enjoyed our stay

Thank you so much for staying with us, Katherine! Sorry to hear about the hot water - please contact us next time and we would be happy to come up and help you adjust the hot water heater. The balcony door has a bar on the bottom (for additional security) that you have to remove before opening it. Sorry we did not relay that information to you prior to your stay. Thank you again for staying with us! We hope to see you again.
Walking distance to downhill ski. Hot water ran out on the first day.
Conveniently located within the resort. Tiny unit with all the essentials. Stairs leading to the loft can be intimidating. Hot water completely ran out on the first day within a few minutes of use while my kids were both wet already (in addition to a few minutes of brown water in the beginning). It could have been much better if this was communicated ahead of time. Use of hot water in the next days was well planned as we knew we had to be careful not to shower all at once so there was no further problem for 4 of us. No central heating in the unit but came with a few space heaters so you might feel a bit chilly near windows and in bathroom. There is no hot tub in the building, you have to drive out and pay $15 for day use. Unit came with two guest passes which saved me $10 each daily lift ticket.

Thank you so much for choosing Tahoe Vacation Rentals!
This rental was not a good fit for us. Although the listing did indicate there was no A/C so we were aware of that, the loft remained 78 degrees with the sliding door open and all fans on throughout the night. So whoever slept on the pull out couch near the sliding door was freezing and the people who slept upstairs were sweating. Our trip was in July so I imagine this isn’t a problem in the fall-spring months. The pull out couch is not comfortable, you can feel the metal underneath the mattress. The beds upstairs were comfortable. Also, the staircase is much steeper than the photos elude. I suggested to the management company that they take a photo from the loft facing down to the living room so that the reality of the steepness is a little more visible. Not a super big deal during the day but if you have to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night, it’s a little sketchy to go down. I did communicate our concerns to the management company and while they were quick to respond, there were no solutions or accommodations outside of offering to give us suggestions on what to do around town, which did not help us with the problem we were having. They did ask if we wanted suggest ways to mitigate heat, which we had already done, so again did not really improve our stay. The condo was clean and the check in process was easy.
Cute and cozy space, great for what my brother and I needed. Note there is no ac and since heat rises the sleeping loft was very warm. There are fans though, and also I love the spiral staircase! We mostly only slept there and were busy with a nearby family gathering so did not get a chance to utilize the pool but it looks nice - you can see it from the deck there. Tiny yet functional kitchen.. main bed was on the softer side and the lower bunk of the bunk bed seemed more firm .according to my brother.
This condo loft was perfect for our family of four and located within walking distance to the resort. Although you can't cook gourmet meals, the kitchenette was perfect to cook simple meals to get us through the day. This unit can use a new toaster or even a toaster oven since it does not have a regular oven. There are only a few outlets in the kitchen so you have to juggle the location of the appliances to use them. Other than that, it provided all that we need and would rent this condo again.
If you are skiing in Tahoe Donner, look no further. This is it. I stayed here in late March 2022 with my spouse and 2 kids for 4 nights. The property is cozy. As this was a ski trip, we ate in and the small kitchen was adequate (microwave, fridge, 2 stove burners, enough plates/utensils, etc.). There is a little deck to store your ski gear if you so please.
We put on our ski gears every morning and walked to the office to check in and up to the chair lifts to ski. Great location.
We did not go out to eat or hang out, so cannot say what the night life is like. The closest Safeway is 12 minutes away- not bad at all.
You do need to take the trash out and undo the used bedsheets, so if you regularly stay at resorts/hotels, it's a hassle.
I did not understand the heating system in the unit, but as it was not freezing, I did not reach out to the property owner.
We would absolutely stay here again when we ski at Tahoe Donner again!
