It is rare to find a villa which will sleep a large group of people in rooms of a comparable, exceptionally high standard, but Santa Ynez does just that.
This three floor villa is utter luxury with 10 bathrooms and nine bedrooms - all of which are presented immaculately with bright, white Egyptian cotton sheets, brightly coloured bedheads with tasteful soft furnishings and accent cushions to match.

Two bedrooms are master-suites which offer slightly superior facilities including a full 600ft balcony for one, replete with sun loungers and a six-seater table and chairs with unbroken views of the sea only metres away. This suite-style room is atop the house with frosted glass partitioning dividing the Manhattan hotel-style room from its bathroom.

The second suite offers an opulently large bathroom, walk-in wardrobe, a 40” Plasma TV, large sofa seating area along with further spectacular views of the sea along one entire wall.

Other bedrooms offer beautiful views, proximity to the garden or proximity to various facilities within the villa. All except one have an en-suite and the one that hasn't has an assigned bathroom – a must when the house can accommodate so many people. There is also a guest toilet and a pool toilet and shower.

Santa Ynez is understated in a context of unstinting luxury: the middle floor offers a bar complete with eight to ten modern leather white stools, a wine-fridge, cocktail tool-set, sink, a full complement of glasses a dishwasher and a Bluetooth music unit to link to your own personal music streaming device.
A blue and white pool table commissioned and built in the UK straddles the middle of the room, and a plush eight-seater relaxation area with a 50” LCD TV finishes the recreation level. A glass-panelled balcony holds a table for eight, a high stool and table set for four and a six-seater sofa. Again, there are unstinting views of the sea from this balcony, plus a full view of the villa's beautiful pool, garden and bathing area.
The ground floor is host to a large high-gloss, white kitchen with an American fridge-freezer, dishwasher, oven, combination microwave oven, hob, washing machine and washer-dryer. All work tops are black marble and a large island in the centre of the kitchen provides additional work and storage space, plus seating for four to six.
Adjacent to the kitchen is an extensive seating area, divided into three distinct sections. One holds seating for eight around a large 50” LCD TV. The next has a spectacular reclaimed wood table, surrounded by 12 modern chairs of soft white leather. Finally, a further relaxation area offers seating for eight around a coffee table.
There are four bedrooms on the ground floor, two with double-doors onto the patio and two with full baths in their en-suite bathrooms.
The relaxation facilities inside Santa Ynez allow huge choice for guests to relax in space and comfort. Whether in front of their favourite TV programme, playing cards, reading a book, playing pool or having a drink on the balcony – there is space and variation available for large groups with different interests.
Outside Santa Ynez is a beautiful 10m x 14m pool which cascades into an infinity pool at the patio of the villa. Beside this is a raised sun deck where up to 8 loungers will fit for the sun-worshippers in the group. In addition, for larger groups we have enough loungers on the lawn to cater for all 18 people!
Raised slightly above this level is a large eight-person hot tub which is perfect for the bright, star-filled evenings of the South of Spain especially as seated in it you have excellent views of the bright blue ocean while quietly sipping your evening tipple of Champagne.
There is seating for 18 in the patio area – either under the shade of the middle floor's balcony or in the sunshine patio complete on the edge of the garden. Either is the perfect place for an early breakfast or a leisurely lunch in the shade.
For al-fresco food preparation, there is a very large barbecue which facilitates even the biggest parties complete with rotisserie and even has a griller built into the lid!
The garden is fully landscaped with lush foliage and flowers. British grass has been carefully planted and cultivated in the garden to give a denser, greener lawn.
Safety has been a key consideration at the heart of the renovation of Santa Ynez. The owners, who have a young family, have glassed-in the ornate stairs, and provided safety gates at the entrance to the, already glass surrounded, swimming pool so that the latter is entirely impenetrable by little adventurers. High chairs, sterilisers and cots are all available on request.
The owners of Santa Ynez also know that strong, swift wifi is non-negotiable for today's guests – whether for watching a movie, or for keeping in touch with the office. A state of the art wifi system has been installed on every floor with unlimited use.
One of the strongest attractions of Santa Ynez for all age groups is its proximity to one of the cleanest, quietest beaches on this part of the coast. Wazza Beach is a two minute walk (100metres) away from the house via an underpass, and between April and October the beach bar offers burgers, hotdogs, sushi, snacks and drinks. This is the perfect place to relax, play in the sand or learn to kite-surf. It also offers an alternative for those who like to mix it up between the pool and the beach.
The villa is a four-five minute drive from La Cala de Mijas Village or a 15-minute walk, all on the flat. La Cala is a quiet but vibrant village which, very unusually for this part of Spain, has no high-rise and a village square around the Torreon or tower of the tiny fishing harbour (La Cala means cove). There is no shortage of various restaurants and eateries within the village together with an Irish bar and a chic wine bar.
Santa Ynez is also within a half hour's drive of the hub-bub of Puerto Banus and the shopping of Marbella for those who fancy a day, or night, out. Chauffeur and minibus services are available.
The area surrounding La Cala offers many other great facilities such as the El Chapparal, La Cala, Torrequebrada and Santa Clara Golf courses. Most beds can be made-up as singles to accommodate large golfing groups at Santa Ynez.
The villa is also permanently monitored by a local security firm.
