Sloway Cabin, a beautiful log home, sits on five acres of meadow and woods that are often visited by deer and sometimes by bear, moose and elk. The property also includes seven acres stretched out along the Clark Fork River, just across the small gravel road from the Cabin.
One hour from Missoula and two from Spokane, the Cabin has very convenient access yet feels like another world--secluded and private.
Inside, the warmth of its log walls and high vaulted ceiling create an immediate sense of peace and comfort. At 1,450 sq. ft. the Cabin feels just right, small enough to be cozy but big enough for two couples to enjoy privacy. It's the perfect spot to celebrate a birthday, anniversary, or reconnect with relatives.
Two queen bedrooms, on the main floor and in the loft, each have adjoining full baths. The freshly remodeled kitchen is roomy with quartz countertops, new appliances, and plenty of storage.
Long summer days are for fishing, floating, and swimming, the Clark Fork, St. Regis, and Flathead Rivers. To the west, wonderful hiking trails lead to high alpine lakes along Montana/Idaho border. Mountain biking the Hiawatha Trail--over historic (and high!) railroad trestles and through cool dark tunnels--is another favorite. Trestle Creek Golf Course is just 3 miles down the road in St. Regis, where you'll also find two great antique shops.
Should you be able to come in early fall... lucky you! Crisp air, starry nights, and perhaps an evening bonfire. This is the season for more hiking and mountain biking, antique shopping, and enjoying Quinn's Hot Springs.
After a fun-filled day you'll love hanging out on the Cabin's wrap-around porch. Log rockers invite you to savor the lingering warmth of the sun as you enjoy a cool drink, recount the day's adventures with friends and family, and watch the sun set over the mountains across the river.
No matter what you enjoy at Sloway Cabin the time will pass too quickly. But you're sure to depart feeling relaxed, refreshed, and renewed.
IMPORTANT, Please Note!
Sloway is NOT close to Glacier National Park. Glacier's about a 3 hour drive each way, and that's just to the west entrance. And the Cabin is far, far from Yellowstone NP, although the cabin is a great layover stop if you're heading there from the west.
You can easily google destinations and timing from St. Regis to almost anywhere.
There's a decent grocery store, Darlow's, about 10 miles east in Superior. But to find a good restaurant you'll have to drive 25 miles up highway 135 to Quinn's Hot Springs.
The cabin is not suitable for children.
Last minute reservations (booking within two weeks of your stay) are usually not available.
Guest dogs will be considered with adherence to the Cabin's pet policy. Pet rent is $60 per dog per stay.
There are numerous small wild animals around the cabin that sometimes making their way into the cabin. These include migratory bats, mice, rabbits, wasps, etc. Fortunately our bats annihilate mosquitoes!
The wifi at the cabin works well for a rural Montana area. There's not much cell range, best to use wifi calling.
