This is a spacious guest house the owner built for his hunting friends. The main house next door that is also an airbnb. Sheep Mountain Lodge tells the history of the area the moment you step inside and gives you a real Montana experience. Big game trophies displayed from local Montana hunts preserve the beauty of the nearby wildlife. Located on the Clark Fork River great fishing is steps away.

The cabin was even better in person! Easy to access, clean and comfortable and they even asked what time I was arriving and had a fure going in the fireplace for me. The dogs were comfortable and loved the yard and they had doggie bags near the entrance for easy cleanup. Perfect if youre traveling with dogs and though I didn't have kids with me I think this place would be kid heaven. Would definitely stay here again.
This cabin definitely has a rustic charm with some great decor and impressive taxidermy throughout. The fireplace and chimney setup are especially cozy, and the overall vibe gives you that authentic cabin feel. That said, there are a number of things future guests should be aware of.The kitchen is functional but could really use some updates—there’s no full-size fridge, the cookware is minimal and not in great shape, and there’s no ventilation when cooking. The bathroom also needs attention: the shower is extremely small and doesn’t drain, the toilet and sink are both wobbly, and faucets leak throughout the night, which was tough when trying to sleep. The beds are springy and not very comfortable, and the air conditioning unit was loud and barely effective during our stay. The WiFi cut out every few minutes, making it tough to stay connected.River access is beautiful but very steep, so keep that in mind if you’re planning on spending time down there. There was also no BBQ on the deck that we could find, which was a bit disappointing. If you’re looking for a very rustic stay and don’t mind some quirks, this could be a great spot—but a few small upgrades to the kitchen, bathroom, and general maintenance would go a long way in improving the overall experience.
