Loved our stay at Bissman Cottage. Very clean, cozy, welcoming. They did an outstanding job renovating the inside of the home. Brian and I discovered the downtown area while dating. We would meet downtown Springfield because it was the same distance from Lebanon where Brian was to Kimberling City where I live. We enjoyed the restaurants, pubs, entertainment, sports and of course you can't forget Gillioz theatre.
We met there every Wednesday night and some weekends.

Why they chose this property

I love cottages! This cottage was built by CA Bissman in 1932 When Bissman returned from Europe after world war one, he started building European cottages downtown Springfield. I love the old world style! I have renovated and added some newer trends and have kept many of the original features. We provided 4 adult bicycles that are kept in the garage for your enjoyment. We use them to ride to Tie and Timber Brewery just around the corner. There is a bike lock to lock the bikes together as well.

What makes this property unique

There was an unfinished gable space in the upstairs master bedroom that just "Screamed Sweetness"! My carpenters cleaned it out, insulated it with R-30, added a remote control A/C unit and covered the walls with bead board. They built a baby bed and a twin size bed for parents who have small children who want their babies close but also want to enjoy some privacy. Cute as can be! If its not needed, Close the doors off! We also did a Farm house dining room. Farm house is very popular and trendy. My carpenter Brock built the light fixture above the table from a 125 year old barn. We had fun building it and welding it out in the garage. It's quite remarkable.
