This is the lower unit of a two unit beach home. 2017 heated In-Ground Pool with leni shared with Salty Dog Straight Up (fees do apply for pool heat). A beautiful open floor plan with updated kitchen, bar, dining room. Beautiful views from expansive windows of the Gulf from the open concept living space. The interior space flows out to a 10x30 screen porch. You can open the windows for a sea breeze and to hear the surf. There is a futon (in cabinet under TV) for extra sleeping in the great room. The master bedroom is tucked around the corner. Complete with a washer/dryer. This property can be rented with VRBO

This was a last-minute booking and I cannot describe how wonderful the experience was. Everything was perfect. From the house being clean, comfortable and well equipped to the pool being warm and inviting. Extremely dog friendly and she also enjoyed herself immensely! I hope to be back MANY more times. quiet easy relaxing

we do not have pets but this space is great if you do. we will definitely stay again when visiting India Pass. Very Clean and comfortable and open space. no true closet for clothes, but easy space for luggage to be accessible.

Peaceful

The stay was 6 nights and we all wanted to stay longer. The unit we stayed in was clean and spacious for all 6 of us. The pool is perfect and tucked in nicely with privacy when you don’t want to be at the beach. The absolute best parts is sitting on the screened in porch at night listening to the waves and chatting with the family. I would recommend to anyone with a family that wants to unwind from the daily hustle and bustle.

Perfect Get away for a couple

We were delighted with the location, the decor and functionality of Salty Dog on the Rocks! We also enjoyed the pool, the grill and the front porch immensely. Best of all, Matt - the owner - was readily available to answer any questions. We will definitely come back and bring the rest of the family to rent the whole house!

The neighborhood is so inviting and right on the water with an excellent beachThe property is beyond expectations with a beautiful pool area and extra indoor and outdoor areas to relaxThe house and large screened porch was perfect for myself, husband and PoppyThe owners very attentive to any questions or problems plus just great people!!We lucked out due to them having an unexpected last minute cancellation - we hope to be able to return again someday soon

My stay at Salty Dog and Salty Dog Straight Up

We enjoyed each day in the pool and on the beach. My sister had a place on Mexico Beach, but she came to my location daily because it wasn't too crowded. We had an excellent time. The kids enjoyed the kayaks and crabbing. Dinner at Indian Pass Raw Bar was so good. We will be back next year.

Great Stay!

We had a wonderful stay at Salty Dog on the Rocks! The property is great, wonderful screened in porch, right across from the beach, in the cutest and quietest neighborhood. Like a previous reviewer, we found the King size bed to be too soft, but we just folded out the Murphy in the living room and used that, worked out just fine. The kitchen is nicely equipped. We like to cook and they had everything we needed. Other than the bed just not being to my taste, the only complaint I have is that I couldn't figure out how to get the clothes washing machine on cold water, but maybe that was user error. Matt was around & available for suggestions or any issues and was a great host. Overall, such a great vacation! We will be coming back!

Wow! We found a gem! My husband and I had a few last minute days off work and decided to take our boys and go to the beach last minute. We were so lucky to find the Salty Dog! Wonderful owners with their own dog, Chance! Even with teenagers and a dog, we had plenty of room. The house and property is beautiful. Pictures haven’t been updated so it is even better in person. Great for families or just a couple. The beach is so close and really private! You won’t be disappointed! We hope to go back in the fall. Thanks for such a relaxing stay!

Wonderful property. Excellent location, it was like we had the beach to ourselves the whole trip. The house is cozy but perfect for what we needed. The porch/outdoor areas are very nice. The owners are on site and are absolutely great. We had a flat on checkout day and he was nice enough to air our tire so we could make it to the shop to get a plug. The pool is perfect. Not far from the beach at all. You can hear upstairs guest walking occasionally but that's honestly to be expected with any multilevel set up. It didn't bother us and the dogs quickly got used to it. We used a sound machine to help.The dishes in the kitchen weren't the cleanest (likely cleaned by previous guest). Not a big deal, we just washed things before we used them. We would definitely stay here again!!

We enjoyed our stay in the unit. The front porch with its view of the ocean and sea breeze was lovely, as was the pool. The place was clean, except for the sofa cushions, but I covered them with the dog sheet, which is a great idea. However, only one burner of the two-burner electric stove worked, and it had no oven. There was a large toaster oven, but it didn’t work at all. I called Dawn less than 24 hours after we arrived for a 6-day stay to discuss the stove, but she never called me back. I doubt there was much she could do about it on short notice, but she could have at least had the courtesy to return my call.

I'm glad you loved Salty Dog on the Rocks, with a few issues. I always return phone calls with in a few hours. I do not remember getting any call from you regarding your concerns with the property. Since you stayed we have repaired two burners on the cooktop. I did not know the counter oven was not working, but we are having it look into. The sofa has been steamed cleaned. Our policy is to return all phone calls within a few hours unless they are after 6pm then we return them the next day unless there is an emergency then we do everything we can to respond right away.

Better than expected

I would first like to say that Matt, the property owner, is one of the most wonderful people we have ever rented from. We have visited this area 16 out of the past 20 years, he went above and beyond to make our stay as carefree and comfortable as possible. Can’t thank him enough for this. The property itself was more than we expected. We’ve always stayed on the beach, this was our first house not right at the waters edge. Even though we were across the street from the water we still felt like we were beachside that’s how close you are. It’s really just a short walk, so close you can leave your window cracked open at night and still go to sleep enjoying the peaceful sound of the waves. The house is beautiful and was very clean. The property is very carefully thought out with every amenity you could think of. We loved the screened in porch and also enjoyed the heated pool. This is one would definitely return to. We brought our 7 month old pup with us and she had the time of her life. Willow is now 100% a Salty Dog and I know she would love to visit Matt and the beach again next year!!
