About this property

WildWood Valley Retreat

--We have a great location, remote by today's standards.
--We have seen several eagles as they soared above the lake, heard the call of the coyotes in the evening, the bugling of the elk when the wind is right, and the call of the loons in the morning.
--It’s a wonderful spot to share with friends and family and quiet enough to hear yourself think.

--A perfect home base to take off from. Just off I-75 in the center of Northern MI. Roughly 30 minutes from every place you would want to visit including Petoskey, Gaylord, Indian River, Boyne, Cheboygan, and Mackinac City. Minutes from the Main State Trail along Old 27.

-- 5 minutes from Trowbridge (I-75) to get on the trail. (ATVs & Snowmobiles ) Please make reservations in Indian River for ATVs and Snowmobiles before your arrival.
-- 30 minutes from Nubs Nob, Boyne Mountain Ski Resort, and Treetop's Resort.
-- Just a few miles from some of the most remote forests in the lower peninsula.
-- Spring Morel Mushroom picking,
-- Turkey and Dear hunting seasons
-- Fishing and Golf Nearby
--Rafting down the Sturgeon River starting from Downtown.

Summer:
--Sit on our large deck or our beach and relax.
--Sandy swim area and playground with a swing set and slide.
--Two Firepits
--We have 6 kayaks
--Plenty of fish in the lake
--Very nice concrete launch ramp

Fall:
The fall color tours can begin at our Lodge;
--several two-lane roads to Petoskey, Indian River, and several other cities in the area while taking in the colors as you travel.
-- several world-class golf courses located in the area.

Winter:
--3 miles from the Rails for Trails by snowmobile and only 5 miles from Pigeon River Forest
-- We sit up on a large hill and the kids will enjoy great sledding. Bring your Sleds
--snowboarders and skiers in your family, we are less than 35 miles from Boyne Mountain and one hour from the Highlands.
--A large parking area will accommodate over 25 snow machines and their support vehicles.

Spring:

--Springtime brings morel mushroom hunters and spring golf.
--centrally located to accommodate your trips to the forest and the greens.
-A few miles from one of the TOP 10 Mountain biking trails in the USA, Mountain biking in the Pigeon River Forest as noted in Men’s Journal Magazine.

--
For security reasons, there are two video cameras installed on the outside of the property. One facing west toward the parking lot, and one facing south toward the playground. This is to inform the owner of illegal trespassers using trash dumpster or playground areas or any suspicious activity when the home is vacant.

Snowmobile Trip
We had a large group stay at the lodge for our annual snowmobile trip. Everyone had their own bed, and every room has its own bath/shower! Great kitchen, as we cook all our breakfast and dinner on the trip. Nothing was needed, the lodge has it all! We will definitely consider staying here again! Thank you, the #snirtydozen

Family Perfect
We have an annual Christmas party with the extended family, and this was a great place! Bedrooms with bathrooms in each for every adult and their families! Good space - smaller kitchen than we are used to, but it was functional. Bring extension cords! An older home with limited outlets!

Family Gathering
Our family gathering at the Wildwood Lodge in Wolverine was awesome. The place was perfect for our large group. The lodge was clean & nicely decorated plus the kitchen is adequately stocked with cookware, dishes, utensils, spices, etc. This is a great place for large groups & we highly recommend it. Thank you to the Wildwood Team!

Why they chose this property

This is a cozy Lake Side Chelat hidden 10 minutes off I-75. Just enjoy the Day on the all sports lake with the family. We offer six kayaks and there is a public launch if you decide to bring or rent a water craft. Kids like to search and catch frogs and turtles or just jump of the dock and swim with a raft. In 2015 we put up a new swing set and dumped 30 yards of sandy beachfront. This is not just a rental property but what we call home when we are in the US and take care of it as such. Our goal is to make sure you are as happy and as comfortable as we are when we are home.

What makes this property unique

Perfectly located to visit near by towns, like Petoskey, Gaylord, Mackinac and Rodgers City are all roughly 30 minutes drive if you want to get out and explore the Northern tip of MI. Indian river is a 10 minute drive if you want to rent virtually any kind of outdoor utility vehicle or water craft. When you are done exploring you can come back to the quite lake of Wildwood and listen to the Loons calling and enjoy the sunset view. Cap of the evening with a bon-fire while staring at an umbrella of twinkling Northern stars when the moon is away.
